Valley Plaza is getting close to filling the 23,000-square-foot Robinsons-May building, which served as a Barber Honda showroom in the interim.
But now it will go back to being an anchor store.
What do we want there? A huge sports, auto accessory and beer plaza to fulfill every man's fantasy?
Or do you women want something fu fu in the space?

The size of proposed twin high-rise towers near Cal State Bakersfield is being scaled down, developer Carl Cole announced.
And the original idea for a Nordstrom is being replaced with smaller retailers such as Coach and J.Crew, he said.
When first proposed in January, Cole talked about 31-story towers, but now he's looking at 24 stories — still 50 percent taller than Stockdale Towers.
The towers would house 500 condominiums ranging from 700 to more than 3,000 square feet....
A neighborhood in Bozeman, Mont. found itself buried in tumbleweeds.
Obviously, that could happen here where tumbleweeds are the city flower.
Bozeman is just north of Yellowstone National Park. I know two people who live there, a former Californian reporter named Gail Schontzler, and a golfer whose first name is Brown.
You can read the above link to see how bad it is for the people up there.
Should we be proactive and bring in the National Guard so a similar tragedy does not...
San Francisco, which has often marched to its own peculiar drummer, has banned grocery stores from offering plastic bags.
There is apparently environmental reasons for doing this.
I didn't like plastic bags when they were first offered, but boy have I gotten used to them now.
They are great for carrying lunches and picking up dog poop.
Should California and the rest of America follow San Francisco on this issue?

The Hendersonville Times News suspended the blogging account of Charles Merrill because his blog name was "Anti-Christ."
Charles Merrill, 72, is the cousin of the man with the same name who founded Merrill Lynch.
Chuck. a self-made millionaire, is also refusing to pay some of his taxes until the government says his domestic partner, Kevin Boyle, can have the same benefits as a married couple.
The Henderson newspaper is owned by the New York Times, which...
Researchers are studying wandering minds.
I want them to hook me up. Especially in my back swing.
If there's something we all do, it's letting our mind get away from us lots during the day.
It is very evident in a golf swing. You have to concentrate for two seconds to swing properly. On my bad days, it just can't be done.
So I'm hoping this research will end up with concentration pills or exercises or health-insurance covered lobotomies.

Police today confirmed Anna Nicole Smith died from an accidental drug overdose.
The former Playboy model died Feb. 8, but the results were delayed by an investigation, which ultimately did not find any foul play.
This is the kind of news which everyone knew on Feb. 8, after watching interviews with her on Entertainment Tonight.
Okay, we can move on to the next mystery — who is the father of her baby. There are more choices here.

A new story about a young couple falling off a Princess Cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico caught my eye.
The man, 22, and woman, 20, fell from a balcony room of the Grand Princess and flopped around in the water for a few hours before their dramatic rescue.
My wife and I know exactly what those balcony rooms are like as we got married on a Sun Princess cruise to Alaska last summer.
You can't accidentally fall off the balcony. The bars come up about chest level.
Can't...
Sometimes I don't fulfill my "trained observer" role very well.
At the morning news meeting, our Eye Street folks reported we would have a story in Saturday's paper on the trend for straight hair on women.
Not noticing that all five women in the room had straight hair, I pronounced how straight hair on women is a pet peeve of mine.
Curly hair is cute. Straight hair is lifeless.
One young lady in my family has beautiful, naturally curly hair which she straightens...
Today the 20th annual Kern County Regional Science Fair will be held at the Rabobank Convention Center in Bakersfield.
This brings back memories — and the issue of how much parents do to help their kids.
My son won school competitions and placed well in the regional events. His projects were on blood spatter, and flammability of fabrics.
I had a ball helping him — getting some help from my friends in the crime lab on blood spatter, and burning fabrics in our...
They come in red, white, black and pink, and some with glittering green flames and other designs.
And they are manufactured in an industrial park in Fresno by Pacific International Marketing & Promotions, which oddly enough can be initialized into PIMP.
A couple who started the business have seen sales surpass $2 million, the Fresno Bee reported.
Randy Blacker, 40, started the business in 2002 after losing his job and sitting at home one day, surfing through television channels...
Okie from Muskogee and Hillary for President just don't sound all that congruous to me.
But grizzled country singer Merle Haggard has written a song supporting Hillary Clinton for president.
Now, just doesn't that beat all?
I am a little surprised by this. One of the lines is: "This country needs to be honest/This country needs to be large/Something like a big switch of gender/Let's put a woman in charge."
Does this sound like the Merle Haggard you know?

Apparently, people come to Bakersfield ON PURPOSE!
Tourists have spent an estimated $1 billion in Kern County, attending things like Elton John's Aida musical, Gwen Stefani, state wrestling tournaments and March Meet racing.
The folks at Rabobank hope past successes can lead to more, and the tourist folks want to promote other things to do in the county.
Does this strike you as odd? That Bakersfield could be promoted as a fun, happening place?
Whatever will become of our image?...
We all have people in our lives who hang onto their misery.
They tell you about it every chance they get. Maybe you are one of those people. Get over it.
That's the idea behind Get Over It Day to be celebrated on March 9. Of course, it has it's own website, www.GetOverItDay.com
It's the idea of Jeff Goldblatt of Atlanta. You can write what you want to get over -- the worst break up of all time, the boss who should be out picking cotton by hand if he wants to do something useful, the...
There is nothing worse than losing a baby.
The hurt by a mother, a grandmother and other relatives is more painful and lasting than being touched by a flaming sword.
So initially, we all wondered how grandmother Brenda Stockman, 46, and her daughter, Sandy, 28, could be arrested on felony charges in the traffic crash death of Sandy's daughter, 4-month-old Kayden.
On Wednesday, District Attorney Ed Jagels in what he called one of the most difficult decisions in his 30-year-career,...
