Excellent candidate. An involved parent with legal expertise that would be an asset to the board of trustees. posted by

Mr Feher,
You've been endorsed by an anonymous person along with Barbara Mettler and Tony Lomas. Are you aligned with their agenda?? How do you feel being grouped with them?? posted by

Geisel, Froehlich, and Sanders are "The Abernathy Machine" candidates, they are grouped together. Get a clue look at the recent slate mailers.

I haven't received any Republican slate mailers that endorse any candidate. I've received slate mailers where the candidates themselves pay to be on them.
Anyway, what does that have to do with Mettler, Lomas and Feher being grouped together??? Does mean that they are not liked by the Abernathy machine because they are to far to the right?? posted by

Hey anonymous,
Why don't you just admit to leaving your comments posted as HonestAbe. The computer recognizes that only two people have commented on this blog, you and me. posted by

kelleychinchic,
Anonymous can be anybody, not just one user. Their are basically 2 groupings in the candidates of this race: Froehlich, Geisel, and Sanders - who are puppets for Jamie Henderson, the CTA, and they moreover have no backbone the other 3 are Feher, Lomas, and Mettler - who are supported more by the parents of this district, and have no special agendas. They will hold Henderson accountable; unlike the others such as Geisel who have special interests in the district (his wife is a teacher in the RUSD) The Abernathy Machine is a corrupt group of RINO's (Republican's In Name Only)...i mean look at Sanders, he is a democrat who is supported by the Abernathy Machine. posted by

IT,
You're right anonymous can be anyone but if you pay attention to the number of comments versus number of users on other blogs, it keeps track of the different anonymous people who post. IE - Mettlers blog. The computer knows your real user name and tracks you.
As far as having only two real groups in this race, I wouldn't count the other three candidates out.
I don't think Feher, Lomas and Mettler are anymore supported by the parents of the district than some of the other candidates. I doubt Ross, Clifton, and Saldivar would be running if they didn't have people in the district who were supporting them. posted by

you are correct, I have looked into the other candidates and from the looks of it, i have already decided my votes. However, you are able to make your vote upon your observations of the candidates. thats your right ;)

I have yet to see Tom Feher grouped together with any other candidates. I, however, will vote for him because I know him personally, having served on the school site council with him. Additionally, I will vote for the other person I know well, but would not "group" these two together for any reason other than they both have our students best interests at heart. Perhaps the "anonymous" person who grouped Tom with Barbara and Tony, just feels these three would be good candidates. I will vote for him, and one other candidate I know personally who will also be exceptional. As for the third...I cannot speak to who that will be...not knowing the true characters of the others, I will probably leave that blank. posted by

This is a plea to all the candidates...stop using cliches. I want to hear your specific concerns and ideas to improve the district.

FYI....
Did anyone know that this guy is Jewish? He's not from Bakersfield but from Southern California. I just thought this was interesting given the fact that he seems to be endorsed by some really conservative native Bakersfield residents. posted by

Yes, he does live here. I've met him and his wife. They are loving, concerned parents and are actively involved in their daughter's school. I know the daughter has been in the district at least 3 years, so he's been here at least that long. Don't know much about his politics, but I do know he seems like a caring parent with a great sense of balance.

They have lived here since 1994 or 1995. That's around 12 years, after all he is a partner in his law firm, that is not usually accomplished in a short period of time. I met them when our daughters entered kindergarten together, at Centennial Elementary. They have always been involved with school functions and helped whenever parents were needed. They have also been involved in other volunteer capacities in the community such as couples against cancer, warmline etc. Exceptionally good people!

Unless you're hiding Hamas operatives in your home, I don't think you need to worry about his Jewish heritage! posted by
