RUSD - Kenn Clifton
Editor's note: Kenn Clifton declined to provide a photo or answer questions asked by The Californian for this race, saying statements he previously made were misrepresented in the paper.
A story published shortly after he filed to run in the race said Clifton wanted to see a better plan for the district’s growth and he advocated curriculums to accommodate children with different learning abilities. The story also said Clifton felt some board members were too concerned with benefits and time off for teachers. Clifton later said he never made the comment about teachers. The paper stands by its reporting, Executive Editor Mike Jenner said. Following is The Californian’s candidate questionnaire. I'm a father of 4 children and I'm running for the Rosedale School Board. I'm asking you to Vote for me KENN CLIFTON on November 7. I am going door to door to ask for your vote and to let you know who I am. I have lived in the Rosedale district for over 30 years and attended Every candidate wants the best education for our children, but there is more that makes up a school district than this. I also believe that while academics are our most important concern, athletics, art, music, safety and a positive school environment must not be left out. One of my concerns is the State Standards set for our children. Each child is different and learns at a different rate than others. I would like to see this improved to insure that they are being taught at their level, not at what is determined by the state. I see this first hand by having four children that are following the same curriculum but are not learning it at the same rate. Other issues of concern in the What I am hoping to achieve by becoming a board member is to be a voice for the Parents and Children and not special interest groups or unions and to insure the best education as well as the most fulfilling education experience. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to call 589-0196 or by email kclifton2@bak.rr.com. Please Vote for me Kenn Clifton Father of 4 wanting more in the Rosedale School District posted by

Mr. Kenn Clifton,
I think would make Rosedale Union School District a fine trustee...... Whom better to know about Rosedale Schools than a person that attended one as a child and lived on Marcilyn Ct. during his youth before he went into the Military. He is honorable and would do a great job for the District and the youth of it. Robert Clifton Wellington, Kansas
