I just read that the state is investigating Phil McGraw for practicing psychology without a license because he went to visit Britney Smears. It seems he not only has never been licensed in California, but that Texas revoked his license there years ago. There were allegations of "inappropriate behavior" with a former patient, after which the good (?) doctor left the state in apparent disgrace. Why is it that California seems to attract people who are not welcome in their own home towns? We seem to be saddled with the rabble that other states do not want darkening their doors. And not only do they come here in droves, but they end up rich and famous to boot! And why is it that it took a visit to the country's number one bimbo to prompt an investigation into the background of someone who has tremendous influence over many people in our state? I have never been a fan of Mr. Phil, but the fact that he sits on his high horse on TV and in books, telling everyone what is wrong with them, just chaps my hide. It seems he has his own dark closets, but there he is, playing doctor without a license to do so, messing with people's lives and earning their trust, and he is making millions doing it. I saw a photo of him and his wife on the cover of a magazine just last night, and the woman is sporting a diamond the size of a small car. I, for one, hope that California cancels the meal ticket for Mr. Phil and follows Texas' lead by running him out of the state. I also fervently hope that if he does leave, he takes Britney Smears with him. |
