If you only knew how sad my life really is....
I just read a post by Nancy that ended with''MY LIFE IS SO SAD''and it got me thinking......... OK I know why I have all the time in the world to blog. I am recovering from several surgeries. I have been off work for 10 months. prior to that I had never Bloged nor did I know what blogging was. Now i'm addicted to blogging. I go back to work soon and well probably suffer with-drawls. Anyway other blogger have made comments to me that I must be a lonely man or that my life must be really sad to post and argue the stuff I do. Well when I read those statements I always laugh and if my wife is around I'll read her the comment and we both laugh and agree if you only knew how lonely and sad I am you would probably feel sorry for me. God I cant wait to get back to work. It is not good for a man not to work. It makes him kinda whacko, at least it does me. My question is there are several people that poat on here all the time. Do you work? do you blog from work? Are you addicted to blogging?Do you feel that you to have a sad life? 18 comments from 11 users

I consider my time here as "break time". As a programmer, I'm on the computer all day and being self-employed, I don't feel guilty about blogging on my boss' dime. Addicted to it? Sure! Best wishes on your recovery. posted by

Ten months? Man, that, like, really bites.
Many of the all-day-long posters are retired (you know, super, super, super old...[CLANG!] OW!! [expletive]), and shuffleboard ain't what it used to be. Robb and I have tried to talk Random into using his free time to run for public office, but so far he hasn't taken the bait. posted by

Do I work? Yes, I'm self-supporting through my own contributions. Do I blog from work? Yes, being self-employed, I can do this without getting in trouble with me. :) Am I addicted to blogging? No, not addicted, but I do like to write and I like to read interesting writing. Do I feel I have a sad life? Absolutely not and even if I did, I wouldn't admit to being that pathetic. ;) posted by

I will never run for public office. Got a face for radio and a voice for books, for two things. Plus I'm super, super, super old. posted by

By the way, I'm not a stranger to bad things happening in life, nor is my family, but I don't dwell on the past and the present is always pretty darn good. posted by

I'm hip to that bad voice thing, Random. They say nobody likes to hear their own voice, but in my case, it's more than justified. As for the face, well, I was a cute kid, but somewhere things went awry... posted by

I thought random would start a church....no? I too came to blogging because of a the three surgeries I had on my ankle. Now that I'm pretty much recovered, and husband got a whopping raise, I'm able to stay home. My only issue now is my neck (3 compressed discs and OPLL - a ligament in my neck is turning to bone) from a drunk driver slamming in my driver's side door, years ago. I'm still on the fence 'bout having THAT surgery since it was recommended. I see the doc next week to see what the other options are. I've already done PT, acupucture, chiropractor, injections xray guided into my neck.....I dunno what's left to do. Bloggin' comes in waves for me. I left this site for awhile because of the same ole c - r - u - d - e. But I still drift back to it posted by

I started also because I was recovering from something~ my boys deaths nine months apart. I want to apologize to any here who read that stuff~boy my wording and spelling were way bad. Not all that great now. I have waves, right now I can comment away but am having a tough time writing for my regular Monday gig. I am a homemaker, salary paid by a very generous Mr. Sage, so I have time. Addicted? I have stayed away for 4 whole days! lol I consider myself a "functional " blogger. posted by

woof i have had 2 lower back and 1 neck surgeries. all have been successful. I am usually 90% better now. I am pain free most of the time. some days are worse then others like if I sleep too long. 6 hours of sleep is perfect anything longer makes my back stiff and sore. There are good surgeons out there that does good work. I am totally happy that I let the Doctors fix me. Good luck posted by

I'm one of those super old guys. Is life sad? Every morning when I wake up and put my feet on the floor I know it's going to be a great day and I am blessed with one more. Sad? No, my life has been great, no lingering pains or infirmities. Count every day as a glorious addition to your life. Be happy and grateful. Addicted to blogging? I only blog on occasion when a subject interests me. posted by

My response mirrors Robb's. I am self-employed and work all day (and some nights) at the computer, so this is a nice way to take a break. That and I wanted to get to know more folks in the Bakersfield community. I wish you the best in your recovery, Gube. posted by

I started blogging after I retired last July. I have reached the point I can take it or leave it - was on here daily/hours but decided I needed to get a life!!! Besides, I have rooms to clean that I promised I would clean as soon as I retired..................haven't finished one yet!!! Funny thing about retirement, you finally realize you don't have to get everything done on 2 days off!!! Sooooooo I always say 'well, I could do that tomorrow'!!!! Also, doing stuff with my grandsons is much more fun then cleaning!!! posted by

Ummm..if I remember correctly (and I may not) my sad comment was about watching American Idol. I'll have to go hunt it up and see. I'm like Roy, I get up in the morning and check the obits after my feet hit the floor in a relatively painless way. If my name isn't in the obits I figure it's a good day. And I'm ooooold my own self. Hopefully no one took my comment seriously. If I really had a sad, sad life I wouldn't be on this blog since it can get REALLY depressing at times. Well I mean depressing in the nicest way...you know...screaming at each other, name calling, insults flying. Kinda reminds me of when I was married. :-)
