California May Grant Illegal Aliens Driver's Licenses

When most States are passing laws to discourage illegal immigration good old California wants to pass laws to encourage illegal immigration......Senator Gilbert Cedillo ( D-Los Angeles ) Is a Traitor and a a** and is a prime example of what is wrong with California. Rewarding illegal behavior is wrong.....Cedillo is wrong !

September 15, 2008
FAIR - The California state legislature has passed a bill that would allow illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses. Sponsored by Senator Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), the California REAL ID Act of 2007 (S.B. 60) passed the state assembly on Friday, August 29th and is currently being considered by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. (KMPH, August 31, 2008; S.B. 60)

Schwarzenegger has vetoed legislation similar to S.B. 60 in the past. On October 7, 2005, the Governor stopped another Cedillo-sponsored bill that was "similar" to S.B. 60. (Senator Gilbert Cedillo's History of the Driver's License Bill) Schwarzenegger also vetoed a comparable Cedillo bill on September 28, 2006. (Id.)

Yeah i have to agree with that one. Leave it to California. I don't understand why a politician is pushing to help people that can't vote that is not politics :)

If the state is going to be a haven for illegals, why bother with a border?

If Pedro wants a driver license he'll have to submit to picture and fingerprint and address. He will also be required to show proof of insurance and auto registration to own a car. If he shows ID people will immediately know he's illegal. I don't think the average illegal is going to want to do that.

He's not rewarding illegal behavior.  He's rewarding responsible behavior.  The irresponsible ones won't get driver's licenses, or insurance.   The responsible ones will.

Hopefully  Schwarzenegger will Veto this stupid bill as he has done in the past.....Illegals need to be treated as criminals not hero's..........

Arnold has always vetoed One-Bill Gil's nonsense, and he will continue to do so.

Actually, even the Gropenfuehrer seems to be smelling the coffee these days that the country has real problems and the old political diversions aren't going to cut it much longer.

They must be using that expensive Kopi Luwak stuff, judging by the aroma...

Be sure to express that pearl of wisdom the next time he (or any other politician) actively seeks your advice.
