The right wing killing machine is broke

Years ago when I was a young 24 year old I used to listen to Rush everyday in my work truck. I found Rush both informative and very entertaining. He was funny and he would cover all types of social issues, all with his unique spin. My question Is what in the heck happened to that Rush. Today when I listen to Rush or any other right wing blow-hoe  it's like I'm listening to the end of the world, one even predicted the end of western civilization. I am so proud that The Majority of Americans did not fall for the right wing killing Machines rhetoric  and constant dooms day predictions.
I also find it rather comical when anyone on the Fox News channel whines about the liberal media. They bitch and complain about the same thing that they do. Fair and balanced my jazz. They whine and complain about MSNBC and their liberal coverage but they expect a free pass for their ultra conservative ideological views.. The right wing killing machine is dividing this country by taking things out of context and spreading half truths.
There was a time that I could turn on any of these personalities and hear something different from each one, not any more. Today they all sound the same. Its like they all agree that today this is what we are going to pound into the ground, and pound they do. The shows are being ran just like McCain's campaign....All they do is attack Obama and try and scare us about WHAT Obama is going to do before he has even taken the oath. What they need to do is not try and divide America but try and reunite the Republican party...Because until the Republican party gets its act together the Dems will continue to thrive, They report stuff that no other news programs report.....why....because its just rhetoric not actual news......The results of the presidential election proves that. The American people are to smart to believe that Hannity or Rush has all the answers...they don't...  If they did then why don't they run for office?? Instead they choose to spew their sour grapes.
Hopefully things will calm down and I can once again enjoy a truly informative and entertaining program soon.

These Right wing extremist talk show hosts with very lucrative contracts have big audiences who love to hear their vitriolic crap.

They can take a grain of truth or half truth or even lies and turn it into mountains of excrement that captures the interest of low intellect minds.

They represent the huge faction of Joe and Jane Sixpacks with 60ish intelligent quotients and the proliferation of conspiracy lovers who deep in their hearts harbor the ugly seeds of racism, homophobia, xenophobia and the darkest fears that intelligent, educated people are the bane of civilization.

They wrap their fears and hatred in the flag of patriotism while smearing their perceived enemies as unAmerican, socialist, communist, terrorist, etc., in their collective war against the despicable liberal.

Some of their followers will wig out and shoot up schools and churches, others will join supremacist groups and even plot the assassinations of government leaders while the the rest will keep sucking up the foul fare of Limbaugh, Hannity, etal and the fallacious "facts" disseminated by ugly little people in the darkest corners of cyberspace.

These are some of the bitter people Obama spoke of who cling to their guns and religion in fear of progressive change.

But these nasty little talky television terrorists with national exposure will continue their attacks on the new leaders as long as someone will pay them, looking for every liberal misstep to condemn the inevitable cultural and political evolution which will change the old world they know and shape it into the new world to come.

Fortunately, as you noted, the smarter of their followers have tired of living their lives in the shadow of these fear mongering mongols and faced with the evidence of the utter failure of their former conservative icons to properly govern, are ready to embrace the change needed to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Gee Gube, I guess you've changed your tune about illegal immigration.  It was the so called "right wing talk radio" that effectively got the word out and stopped the passage of that awful "amnesty bill" that I seem to remember you being a little bit against last year.

And Sab, your comment just points up what a bitter, bitter old man you've become.

Change my tune on illegal immigration....Never!........ If only they would talk on such topics but then again with President-elect obama soon to be in the white house they will be blaming and attacking President Obama for all the problems associated with illegal immigration. Sadly neither of the two candidates had a tough stance on illegal immigration....Both favored Amnesty...

It's doomsday obsession.  I'd equate it to the heretical Christians who seem to think everything is a sign of the apocalypse.

Fear mongering and doomsday speaches make money. There's a not so insignificant portion of the population that just laps this sort of thing right up. Who needs verified facts and real news for that sort of thing? It's been turned purely into an entertainment engine for their target audience. Think Billy Graham, but without being ordained and with a focus on politics.

Think Billy Graham, but without being ordained and with a focus on politics.

Not to mention a biased, inexperienced and un-educated focus on politics.  Most of these talking heads (Hannity & Rush are prime examples) have absolutely no professional experience or education in political science.  How they continue to have rapport with so many Americans, I have no clue.

Crude says: "And Sab, your comment just points up what a bitter, bitter old man you've become."

Not sure how you determined that I am bitter because I hold great disdain for extremist rabble rousers spouting inflammatory baloney to foment fear and hatred while labeling dissenters unpatriotic, unAmerican socialists.

It's clear in my statement that I am pleased, not only that fewer people are being duped by these charlatans, and that they have finally been marginalized, and I am extremely pleased that the country is now headed in a better direction.

Any bitterness I felt during the past eight years at the Bush administration's corruption of American values, its destruction of the nation's economic prosperity, its evisceration of the America's world leadership and the possible continuation of its failed policies and ideological divisiveness through McCain, was washed away Tuesday November 4th when the people collectively voiced their decisive desire for real change.

Any bitterness I have felt at the warmongering extremist era of American government has been supplanted by hope for a better and stronger nation and better and safer world.

What extremist right wing yahoos don't get is that this nation needs intelligent thoughtful leadership, not cowboy diplomacy and bellicose barroom bluster in its approach to world affairs while it enriches its elite beyond measure and spits on its own working class.

 Hi FloridaStateGrad,

“How they continue to have rapport with so many Americans, I have no clue.”

The AM Pundits continue to attract a large audience by helping the listeners to rationalize their lot in life.

My job and life sucks because the liberals, illegal aliens, atheists, Democrats, ( add your own here), are responsible for all my problems.

Ironic since classic conservatism is supposed to be about taking personal responsibility.

They simply pander to their marketing audience, and laugh all the way to the bank.

Interesting to hear about the right wing talk show people taking half truths and building a mountain of excrement considering all the lies and half truths the left and the media used to smear Palin and McCain.  You don't have to look far either, it was done right here on this blog as well as across the nation.

Now old fashioned mud slinging is to be expected during elections, but the hypocrisy I just read is pathetic.

How right you are Nancy.  But I must say, it is rather comforting to know that we have such stellar members of the left wing elitist bloc right here in little ol' Bakersfield.  It is indeed a comfort that I, and others of the ignorant masses, have such intelligentsia to turn to in our time of confusion.

We're happy to have helped. Without us intelligentsia, the human race would still be living in the stone age. Think about it. If you can.

Good idea, Rosemary.  First chance I get I'll bring up the subject over a bottle of Coors with Joe at Trout's

I wonder where anyone could ever get the notion that liberals are arrogant?

Enjoy your beverage. It's made possible by a chemical process discovered and perfected by us intelligentsia. Without us, you'd still be shooting curare. Alack! We intelligentsia even discovered curare. You need us, bad.

Wow, you got that right, Rosemary.  You take care of the esoteria and I'll do the plumbin' and fixin'.

Gube: "The results of the presidential election proves that. The American people are to smart to believe that Hannity or Rush has all the answers...they don't...  If they did then why don't they run for office?? Instead they choose to spew their sour grapes."

Gube, they don't run for office because then they'd be expected to actually do something. They'd rather sit in their soundproof boxes and spew divisiveness and hatred for the almighty dollar.

The simple fact is, time has passed them by. They continue to push the very failed ideas that got us into the messes (economy, Iraq, environment, etc.) we're in. Instead of changing with the times and evolving their ideas, they fight even harder to preserve the failed ideas of yesterday. They've become reactionary, almost reflexively so. They no longer think about what they're saying, they just see the other side and do the opposite. They have become the Know-Nothings. Instead of becoming more educated than the other side, they distain everything about them; if the other side is intelligent, confident, and well-spoken, then that is automatically what they don't like. The Republicans have gone from the party of business leaders and military intelligentsia to the party of the "common man" (with his common intelligence) and the "true American" (which doesn't know what the truth is). Thei way of thinking has utterly failed for the past 8 years. Now that it is time for someone else to try (and potentially succeed), they are deathly afraid that their way will be put to shame.

They are not the "loyal opposition", they are merely the "opposition".

America's youth is turning away from the Limbaughs, O'Reillys and Hannitys.

Keith Olbermann and Rachel Mattox is beating them in the 18-24 year old demographic.

As America ages, they will dry up and blow away.
