Bakersfield is supposedly a town of sophistication.

At least according to Channel 29's billboards posted about the city and an ad showcased on the tellie. Yet, don't you find it strange that the 'Hot Spots' of our wonderful nightlife are the seedy bars,  and dirty downtown(where many brawls and stabbings have occured)?

Mayhap we should saunter to Valley Plaza? Opps, some was shot there. TWICE. Let's not forget the usual tween fights and car window smashing in the parking lot.


Okay scratch that! How about we head over to a nightclub? (*Snaps fingers*) Oh, that's right! Rockin'Rodeo was shut down due to un-paid bills, wild wet t-shirt parties, and more shootings.

Are we getting more sophisticated yet?

How about we just go down Buck Owens Blvd to get some old fashioned entertainment? Does the 'Teaser Pleaser' sound elegant enough? Lol!

I can see it now. Bakersfield. Sophistication at it's best. Un-hunh. I definitely see that imaginary image.  Can we say, 'denial'? >_<

I learned two words from a completely new language today. Not of my own choosing but rather because these words were mentioned to me in a random comment. The below definitions are from UrbanDictionary.com

1.)gnar: A shortened version of the word gnarly, meaning high on the scale of dangerousness and coolness. Often used amongst the skateboarding crowd.
