Saturday November 21, 2009 5:00pm to 8:00pm - Pandol and Sons Farms (M & L Cold Storage) 33164 Pond Road, Delano CA 93215

The Farmer Relief & Freedom Relay will be a partner with Saving the Valley that Hope Forgot – A Tea Party Patriots™ relief effort across the nation to assist the farmers of California’s Central Valley. In actions that can only be described as lacking the most basic humanity, the U.S. Congress has turned off the water to Central Valley farmers, leaving their land dry, their fields fallow, and their dreams and ambitions scattered in the dust.

There will be speakers, music, and food for the entire family!

Keep this date and location handy as you tell friends, family, and acquantances about the national relay rally coming to the North Kern County area as

its final stop before reaching the final destination of Fresno. The relay begins on November 8 in three locations on the east coast and they will trek

across the nation and end in Fresno. The Southern Route will pass through Kern County and make a stop between McFarland and Delano on November 21, 2009.

I call on all patriots across Kern County to stand united and show our support for valley farmers and farm workers who are suffering economically under

the policies and court orders of our government!

Any support that you can give to this effort will be greatly appreciated. This will be the first Tea Party Patriot Rally held in the McFarland/Delano area. We will rally in Kern county on Saturday night and then we invite people to follow the caravan into Fresno on Sunday afternoon for the finale!

Mitch Olson and the Kern High School Teachers Association are completely out of touch with reality.  The state is bankrupt and millions in funding to the Kern High School District have been cut including funding that goes to 85% of the budget allocated to salaries.   So instead of working with the school board and administration to get the district through these tough economic times, Olson and the union spend their energies in campaign mode raising money for future school board elections.  I think that Olson is upset because it was revealed that he was being paid with taxpayer funds to be a full time union boss, even though the KHSTA receives $1.6 million in annual dues from teachers.  I have talked to teachers that work in the KHSD and most of them say that they are not happy with the representation that Olson and the KHSTA provides them because their dues go toward non-educational issues that are the agenda of the California Teachers Association and don't really help teachers.  The Kern High School district faces a clear problem.  They have a huge budget shortfall and a large part of the budget is teachers salaries. I hope that Mitch Olson sees the light and puts the kids education first by being part of the solution not the problem.  Maintaining quality education for our kids is key to our future not the special interests of a union.  Maybe KHSD teachers need to form a new union and hire a new leader.
