Joy-joy's Thoughts
Locatorsjoy is an eclectic person and as such her blog constitutes quite the variety of subjects. A lot of it is rambling, much of it is based on peer-reviewed empirical studies, but most of it is just observations of life as viewed through the lens of sociochemistry.

A blog about Politics.

Obama left this prayer at the Wall in Israel. He's an amazing man.

Lord — Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.

When I can figure out how to upload a picture of him in prayer, I will.

Want a bar-b-que to attend on the Fourth?

The details from the host: Open House Potluck Dress comfortable. No smoking, call and email to onetwothree123comeflywithme@yahoo.com or 6615884372 and RSVP. No Hand Bags, or personal items. 11909 Palm Ave. Bakersfield CA

I'm kind of excited about attending my first Obama event. While I've never missed a vote since I turned 18, I haven't been real active in a campaign for many, many years. I mean, I put yard signs and post information on my various blogs and such, and yes, I'll admit, send money, but I think this time I will put in some sweat equity and give my precious time.

I keep reading in various places, mass media and scholarly journals, that race is a significant issue this election. But not really. Everyone keeps kinda dancing around the race issue. Let me offer my fav quote and fill up my dance card: "The discovery of personal whiteness among the world's peoples is a very modern thing - a nineteenth and twentieth century matter, indeed...This assumption, that of all the hues of God, whiteness alone is inherently and obviously better than brownness or tan, leads to curious acts." W.E.B. Du Bois

I plan on bringing some patriotic cupcakes that my granddaughters and I baked. Hmmm, and if you're lucky, I'll bring my world famous deviled eggs. What's a Fourth of July bar-b-que & potluck without the deviled eggs? Regards, Joy
