I would like to wish Billy Mize a Happy Birthday, I will not be able to attend the celebration.  My father knew Billy and had played with him.  I remember a pic of my dad with Billy and Jimmy Phillips that hung on the wall in his living room.  My dad is Tommy Ash, a one time professional drummer, and local Bakersfield musician who past away in April of 2002.  I remember so many talented musicians from the old Bakersfield sound days.  I met so many of these people growing up in my house.
