Adora, The Richest Dog in Bakersfield!
Adora became the richest dog in Bakersfield today when we found she had enjoyed a $400 blue topaz pendant and swallowed the stone. We're not sure how the expensive jewelry item came into her domain, we figure it must have fallen off the dresser where it had been set last night and with it's white gold bacon flavor, it must have proved irresistible! (We've noticed a lot of items being turned into treats these days--shoes--the old classic, to venetian blinds! We're having to puppy-proof everything!) Poor girl. We love her so much we couldn't even scold her! In other news, Adora will be entering Bakersfield's Pet Idol contest after next week's haircut--we'll keep you posted!

I had a gorgeous black pearl necklace that I had the privilege of possessing for almost a month before my cat ate it. Of course, I didn't know my cat ate it until a few days after I noticed the necklace missing off my dresser, when I saw my cat running through the house in terror. Half of my seventeen-hundred-dollar necklace was trailing after the cat, and I am sure anyone with a brain can figure out where the other half of the necklace was. It took me a while to catch the terrified cat and extricate the pearls, which needed to be re-strung. Needless to say, I stopped leaving jewelry within kitty-cat reach after that. posted by

Don't take Adora with you into a jewelry store. She could give a whole different meaning to "rock hound." : )
