Now What Do I Do With This Ark I built?

I was expecting a deluge of biblical porportions to hit Bakersfield today.  Instead, we got a taste of the dust bowl.

Did I err in building an ark?

Yes. You should have built a HEPA filter and an industrial strength central vac system.

LOL Shwaine! That's too funny.

I was absolutely disgusted by the weather today ... yuck. The ugliest day I've seen in recent memory, for sure. And here I was, so excited for the rain.

I was looking forward to the rain too.  Makes for such a good nap.  Instead, the wind kept waking me up :-)

As for the ark, maybe you could do the whole tw-by-two thing with the animals and start your own petting zoo.  I have a male and female dog . . .

For some reason, I always get my hopes up when I hear rain in the forecast.  I must remember that what ya'll consider rain, I consider mist, at best!

I really should have grabbed a N95 mask out of the garage today. Instead I just put my sweater over my nose and mouth. Now between the head cold and the dust, I have spent the whole day coughing up a lung. At least now that I am home and snuggled up to the HEPA filter, it is getting better, so I suspect it's the dust more than the cold that led to all the violent coughing over my work keyboard.

Yesterday morning I heard Miles Muzio's forecast and it was spot on. I kept telling people, "more wind, less rain" but they wouldn't listen.

Put a petunia in it and call it "yard art".

No, your mistake was believing the weather people here. They do that all the time and I am always disappointed. Now, TODAY is nice. (Better knock wood or the lousy sun might come out again....)

Hang on to that ark~ you just never know when Bakersfield may become beach front property. :-)

The moisture today is a good start~ we need more of course.
