C-SPAN has launched some new sites to accent the C-SPAN Politics to ensure we are all kept up to speed with all social media related conversations surrounding politics and the 2008 election. Designed by Washington, D.C. interactive agency Jess3 the site acts as a up for the upcoming election. It also has specific hubs for both the DNC08 and RNC08. The site pulls in social media content from Twitter, YouTube and Qik and even highlights certain items. The new C-SPAN Convention Hubs do a great...

Sure let's take a look at McCarthy's voting record for 2007-08   Yesterday, Bako blogger Ace challenged my comments about our US Congressman Kevin McCarthy, he said "I don't believe Congressman McCarthy's voting record indicates what this blog claims he believes."  So, let's take a look at the record...Now Ace, you tell me, what DOES he believe in? (Kern County Democrats get an F for not mounting a challenge to this man in the 2008 elections). ...

I woke up yesterday morning to CNN, they had a split screen, in one frame was  the President of Georgia being interviewed live on tv, the other frame showing images of Russian tanks rolling towards his town.  I remembered a few years back, when Bush had pledged his support to Georgia, and their newly democratically elected government, and how the US had trained and equipped the Georgia's military.  At first the scenes reminded of Katrina, when for 5 days the...

Wes Clark has been surging on Intrade recently, getting close to Bayh, Biden, Sebelius, and Kaine in the political futures choices for 'who Obama should pick for VP. FiveThirtyEight has a story up in which the author asks, with "the unscripted drama in the Caucasus also serves as a thought experiment of sorts, especially as it regards Barack Obama's VP selection. Would Obama be better off if he had, say, General Wesley Clark flanking him right now? In this case in particular,...

AP has announced that, "Former U.S. Rep. Jim Leach, a leading Republican moderate with a foreign policy background, is endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president. The [15 term] former Iowa congressman's backing was announced Tuesday as part of a group of GOP activists crossing party lines this year. Leach told reporters: "I'm convinced that the national interest demands a new approach to our interaction with the world." Leach added that Obama offers the leadership to...

From the FiveThirtyEight blog: Media Alert Barring unexpected developments, I'll be on Countdown with Keith Olbermann at about 7:30 PM Chicago time tonight. If you can wrestle the remote control away from your significant other and ditch the Opening Ceremonies for a few minutes, I hope that you'll be able to join me.
