I was really depressed when I read the news that The Bakersfield Californian (TBC) has fired Leonel Martinez,  because the newspapers executive editor Mike Jenner, TBC decider; decided he needed a columnist who "will focus more on local issues and local people." So I did what I always do, when the TBC  depresses me,  I tossed TBC into the recycle bin and  turned to Internet to read political columnists, who focus on the important national interests of our...

It's no secret, the Senate is getting ready to follow the House's lead and screw us on FISA, letting telecom criminals off the hook. The bill in question grants immunity to the phone companies that illegally participated in the White House's warrantless wiretap program. Obama says he will seek to remove the immunity provision - but will vote for the bill if that doesn't succeed.   BS has called me an  ignorant, lying punk on his blog, part of his gripe is I took McCain's words out of context, so here I'll let KO put McCain's word's in complete context. During the time that I served as a hospital corpsman from 1968-70,  during the Vietnam conflict, I saw a lot of unnecessary pain and death, and I want this occupation for oil to end, if that makes me a punk, fine I'm an ignorant, lying punk. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
