April 30th PM 2.5 hearing at the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD – “VALLEY RESIDENTS WANT CLEAN AIR NOW”
What: San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control Dist. Particulate Matter 2.5 “soot” clean-up plan
When: Wednesday April 30th at 9 am (gathering 8:30 am)
Where: Governing Board Room at 1990 E. Gettysburg Avenue, Fresno or 2700 "M" Street, Suite 275

Why: Small particulate matter kills over 1200 people a year in the San Joaquin Valley (stats from the CA Air Resource Board) Valley residents are joining together Wednesday April 30th at 8:30 am, to voice their concerns that the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District has not gone far enough in protecting health. The current draft of the SIP PM 2.5 leaves out soot reductions in the internal combustion engine, boiler and glass melting rules. Residents want a timely and effective soot clean up plan passed today.
Ways to participate: Speak at the hearing, send a letter to the editor, send your comments to Coalition for Clean Air and they will be delivered to the Air District 4/30/08, send an action alert
