Oh, Bette, not you too!
I have always liked Bette Midler. She's funny, talented and very sexy in her own way, but today I saw her going after Glenn Beck. It's not that I feel the need to defend Beck, he can do that himself. Sometimes i agree with him, sometimes he is a bit over the top with the bi-polar act of tears and shouting, but an "old school demagogue"? A man trying to incite genocide? Give me a break! She actually compared him to those inciting genocide in Rwanda..in her words, the "hutu's and the tutu's". Rwanda? Genocide? I think Ms. Midler needs to look pop open a history book and a dictionary. This is the paranoia of the left in full stride. Inflamtory(and quite possibly libelous)tantrums. There is a little history between she and Beck. I forget what show they were on at the same time when she said she was funnier than him and he replied "You're not right now". I guess she has another liberal trait; That of speaking their mind to someone then getting pissy when they speak theirs. In any case, claiming a radio talk show host who admits every day that he is NOT a journalist, but rather, an entertainer, is inciting civil disobedience and genocide is absolutely insane. Come Bette, stick to being Ms. "Trash with Class" and entertaining us with your smile, boobs and pipes. 6 comments from 6 users

Actors and Singers need to stick to what their profession is, maybe they think they are beyond losing their fan base ... not! I am not a political person, at all ~ but it drives me nuts when they do this! posted by

Every time a reporter tried to suck Elvis into poltical controversy--usually about the Viet Nam War--he responded with, why ask me? I'm an entertainer. I love Bette, too. I hope she stays away from issues and comments out of her realm. posted by

Bette Midler is a rabid, radical leftist. She will demonize any traditional or patriotic American, but believes she's a real credit to the planet. She planted a garden somewhere in NYC, you see. So she's good, she's righteous, she cares. As more and more celebs line up to support child predator Roman Polanski, an increasing number of Americans will dismiss their opinions on everything - from politics to social issues to everything else. posted by

motopoet: I never knew anything about Bette Midler except that she's a heck of an entertainer. Recently I blogged about songs and tunes that were in my mind when I wake up in the morning. Someone mentioned "The Wind Beneath My Wings." That is enough to make somebody swoon. However, now I'll never feel the same way about it again. So I have to ditto: "Not you, too, Bette!" posted by
