Advertising Agency selected as Kern County Kiosk Network expands Kern County Board of Trade has selected the Saba Agency as the exclusive Advertising Agency for the Kern County Interactive Visitor Kiosk Network, announced Executive Director Rick Davis. The announcement coincides with the roll-out of the latest kiosk, scheduled to begin today at Taft. An additional unit is slated for deployment next week in Rosamond. A Boron unit should be installed in late November, with units at Lake Isabella, Ridgecrest and Tehachapi to follow. Kiosks are currently in operation at Lebec, Mojave and Kernville; and in Bakersfield at the William Thomas Air Terminal, Kern County Administrative Center, the Kern County Veterans Memorial, and the Kern County Visitors Center on Oak Street. “The department is excited about this new partnership and the use of cutting-edge technology in bringing economic benefit to the Kern County visitor industry,” said Davis. “It’s important that we inform the traveling public about our exciting attractions, delicious food and comfortable lodging establishments. The kiosk system is one of the tools we use to accomplish that goal.” “Saba Agency is very proud to partner with the Kern County Board of Trade in this exciting new marketing opportunity,” said Account Executive Sharon Smith. “The cutting-edge technology in the Kiosk Network will give businesses in the area a very unique and effective way to reach new customers while boosting the local economy.” Davis explained the relationship with Saba Agency would further the department’s goal of making the kiosk system self-sufficient. The Board of Trade will receive a percentage of the ad revenue, which would then be used to maintain the kiosk network. “The Board of Supervisors was gracious enough to fund the development of the system, but any technology also has operating costs,” Davis explained. “The advertising component not only allows local businesses an opportunity to reach travelers, but it funds the operation. Our ultimate goal is to have the network pay for itself.” Kiosks serve as virtual visitor centers providing valuable and entertaining information, operating around the clock and 365 days per year. For advertising information, contact Sharon Smith at the Saba Agency at (661) 326-0393.
I need some advice. My 18 year old daughter had her purse stolen last week. She had her driver's license, ATM card, credit card AND her social security card in her wallet. Her house keys were taken too so I have already changed the locks on my house. She works two jobs trying to save money for a car since she had a bad accident in July and totaled the last one. She is starting to build credit with her phone payments and Visa card. My question is what do we do about someone having her ID and her SS card? What can we do to protect her from this person assuming her identity? Any advice out there? I was saddened to hear the news today of Rev. Toliver's passing. Although I never attended his church, I spent many Sunday mornings watching the services on television. I always enjoyed his messages. My favorite part was always the choir during worship. I loved watching them sing and enjoy what they were doing. Although I never met him, I feel like I knew him. I am truly sorry for this loss to the congregation. Celebrate his life. He has moved on to his new life!
