Are your kids home alone this summer?
A cell phone commercial depicts a wild party in a home, but everyone gets quiet when the teen resident answers to a call from his parents who are away on vacation.
A piece of confetti falls to a table. The mother hears it and becomes incensed that her kid is having a party. She announces she and her husband will be right home. I suspect there is a little poetic license going on there, but the point is parents do leave their children home alone in the summer either while the parents are at work or on vacation. What can go wrong there? Do you leave your children alone like that? Is there an age at which you think your kids are responsible enough to be left alone? Or do you do what my parents did — watch them like a hawk? Posted by Steve E. Swenson 3 comments from 2 users

It all depends. If you think your kids are mature enough to be home alone or not. I have a 15 and 12 yr old kids and i feel comfortable leaveing them at home. They call me as soon as they wake up and I call every 2 hrs just to make sure they are ok. posted by

Erik: that's the problem with the way our communities look at solving problems. People allow their children to run wild in the streets, then they get really upset when something horrible happens to them. They want to go around "locking every one up." . Locking people up is a hell of alot easier and more fun than having to actually raise and supervise your children... . I'm really glad you don't have the authority to lock me away in prison simply because you don't like the way I look. posted by

Lol. Well I can't argue that Erik. If you weren't so conservative I could probably be totally into you, lol. . In all seriousness, have you considered joining the Log Cabin Republicans? You really are quite conservative for a gay guy. I'm sure they'd love to have you.
