best coffee...

Who makes the best coffee in town? God knows it's not Starbucks. Thoughts?

Dagny's?

Seattle's Best?

Starbucks?

Coffee Coffee?

Any others?

My favorte coffee place is back in Minneapolis called Caibou Coffee. DELICIOUS!! It is the second largest chain in the country. However, while Starbucks has thousands of locations; Caribous has hundres- mostly in the twin cities. They had the best. My favorite-- a medium mint condition.

Several years ago a local tv station (can't recall which) did a public blind taste-test of gourmet coffees including Starbucks. The Folgers from their breakroom got the most favorable votes.

The best coffee I've ever consumed was served in Guatemala, where coffee is grown. Apparently, they make their coffee before the beans are "processed" and put in a warehouse for "x" number of months.

I've seen granola bars at several stores in Bakersfield apparently based on Caribou.  I don't drink the stuff myself--I get my caffeine the way it was intended to be gotten--with fizzy bubbles.

 HA!!

Yes, they make amazing breakfast bars via Caribou. They are yummy & even have mint condition. :)

An hour and a half outside Mexico City at a small roadside stop called La Marquesa. Coffee still cooked in old clay pots with cinnamon and a touch of sugar. Nothing better...

Its not in town but best coffee I ever had in my life was a a little Tandoori (Indian) place in Richmond (London), England.

A little cream, some raw brown sugar............. Pure Heaven!

Next to that, it'd have to be when I worked in Layfayette, La. The Cajun coffee with chicory root was really good. Of course the little bit of real cream and some brown sugar made it that much better.

I love coffee. If I don't have it in morning, look out!

My coffeholic daughter says Seattle's Best.

I drink Folgers.  Cold, hot, old, weak, with grounds, however it comes.  It's the caffine that important, not the taste.

I've had coffee made similarly in Mexico, Chico and I have to agree, it was Pure Heaven.  I've looked but can't find anything close here.  It's a pity.

I thik you can get French Market in supermarkets in town. I'm not sure but at one time it had some chicory in it.

As far as the Tandoori, I just don't know. I've never had coffee the likes of that ANYWHERE (even in Rangoon  ;=) )

As a coffee lover in general, and nice strong cup is far better than no coffee, but there is a candy store in 3 Rivers called Reimers that sells several flavored coffees from around the world. I used to buy Golden Pecan from them in bean form, then grind it myself. After a couple days, "regular" coffe just isn't as good. I had them sending it to me via mail every couple weeks. If it's not the best I have ever had, it's the most memorable.  Last time I was up there (on the way to camping in Lodgepole) they didn't have it. I miss the bi-weekly shipments.

Best coffee I ever had was in St. Louis, MO.  Like Chico's fave, it was chicory--deeelicious!  I usually make Starbucks in the morning (like etbartley)--House Blend is my favorite--with whole milk.
