Website Q&A Open Thread 6/11/07
Well, it's Monday, which means its question time at New Users Click Here.  Any technical difficulties popping up on Bakersfield.com for you?  Any newbies have questions about how to do certain things?

Last week one user emailed to say that, for him, the "preview" function (allows you to see what a blogpost will look like before you post it) wasn't working for him--anyone else having that issue?

As always, when you're having a tehcnical problem, we appreciate as much detail as possible about what you were doing, what happened, and what you were using (browser, operating system).

One user's reported a weird comment-formatting issue--

He can't type an italicized line

and then follow it with a return carriage and blank paragraph-separating line between the italicized line and the next line, in normal style.

Anyone else having this issue?  If so, please comment here with what OS and browser you're using when it happens, and a link to an example if possible.  Thanks.

I'll check it out now.  Firefox/xp.

That seems fine.

But can I load it up?

Looks like it.

I'm surprised these blogs aren't getting more play.  Now the question I have is: when I post a table, the preview looks fine but the post gets all jumbled.  Also, one of the big gripes is when you copy stuff into the window, it sometimes ends up above your name.  Haven't seen that one lately so maybe it got fixed.

I can type an italicized line

And follow it with a non-italicized one.

But what happens if I type a line

and then italicize it and follow with a non-italicized...

Don't know what's changed, but it's working for me now...

I sent an email through here to a fellow blogger, and the text disappeared when I accidentally typed the wrong spam code.....remember how that use to happen in the regular blogs, but you guys took care of that ;D.

Glad that's working for you now, RF.

Tom, I've passed on your complaints.  I feel you, I try to indent a graf and it comes out flush left.  :(  And yeah, we still see issues with folks posting big blocks of stuff into comments and messing up the formatting.

Woofwoof, thank you, that's been filed as a bug now.
