Website Q&A Open Thread 7/23/07
Encountering any bugs lately, or functions on the site not working the way they should?  While many of you faithfully email us detailed descriptions of problems, complete with helpful screenshots (those are great, and get sent to the development team), this thread is another way for you to get us info about technical problems or to ask technical questions.  Last week, we put up a primer about how to post pictures in blogposts and comments.  This week, we're back to the open thread format, though let me explain one thing first.

Folks often email when they encounter an "inactive user" or "inactive blog" message, wondering what happened.  Blogposts, as you know, can be deleted by their authors.  If a user takes her or his profile private, any blogposts written by that user go private as well.  Finally, if an account is suspended, both profile and blogposts would be unavailable for viewing as well.  By the way, once in a while, a user asks us to delete her or his account; that kind of deletion is not a feature of our system.  While a user no longer wishing to have a profile or account here can take the profile private, the closest thing to account deletion is our account suspension feature.  Again, for someone trying to access the profile or blog of such a user, you would encounter an "inactive" message.  Just a little info.

Happy Monday!

It's good to have the occasional reminder of this. Over time, several users have asked me questions about the Californian site and haven't known this feature is available to them.

Still waiting for the direct link between comments and the correct page of a multi-page blog thread.

I know, I know, working on it.....

Yes, I believe that was reported by H4F earlier, thanks, Sage, I've forwarded it on to the development team.
