This is the BEST!
Someone put a copy of a newspaper in my mailbox the other day and I just got around to reading it. It's called "The Weevil" and it's a parody of The Californian. It's clever and hilarious. Plus on page 3, there's a column by "Hose L'Enry" with clip art of Joan of Arc that seems eerily familiar. I love it and you will too! 7 comments from 7 users

BOARD OF STUPORVISORS SOLVES TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM By Games Jeluso Last night the BOS voted to rename the portion of 7th Standard Road connected to Merle Haggard Drive as Michael Maggard Road and at the other end of that stretch of highway they will name part of it after local contractor, T.J. Dandy and City Manager, Alan Tandy. The new freeway will be called Haggard-Maggard Dandy-Tandy Expressway. The idea is to encourage motorists to shun Rosedale Highway and instead enjoy driving on an exclusive roadway with no railroad crossings and less traffic. posted by

I saw a copy, and I put it on the bottom of my bird cage. Bakersfield must have more serious things to address than that kind of garbage. It's an insult to the Bakersfield Californian. posted by

I too thought "The Weevil" was creative and witty. I hope to see more of this publication.
