Bakersfield Volunteers Are Needed To Succeed in Christmas Effort

Volunteers Are Needed  To Succeed in Christmas Effort
  • The Salvation Army and The Marines Reserve Toys for Tots are partnering with many other agencies to become the Bakersfield Community Christmas. As this cooperation works together we will get to provide over 3000 Christmas food boxes and over 25,000 toys to needy families this season.

This is more than DOUBLE our Salvation Army record of 1500 for Christmas Baskets and TRIPLE the toys we provided last year, too.

We urgently need at least 500 volunteers that can give at least 2 hours each to assemble everything in the old "Zodies Building" at 4001 Ming.

Times are Monday thru Friday- 9am-9pm Monday to Friday and 9am-4pm Saturdays.

Families, individuals, schools, clubs, church groups and other well meaning community members and groups are welcome.

We need help Dec 3 till 18 to assemble all the boxes and sort the toys and 19-21 to do distribution to the needy families.

To volunteer please call 836-8487 right away  so we can reserve your times.

We will only succeed if the community volunteers and works together.

Kids and families will have Christmas if we work together.

Volunteer Bell ringers Needed
  • Volunteer bell ringers still needed. The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Fund Raising Drive represents a large portion of the annual income of for the programs serving in Bakersfield.

  • Volunteers who bellring provide assistance and more. Each dollar  raised by volunteers is reinvested in our local community. If volunteers are not available, we must pay an employee to fill the slot causing a drastic difference in the income. After the employee salary and expenses are paid much less of the donation can be reinvested in changed lives.

  • The Salvation Army goal for the Christmas Season is $100,000. That will not be able to happen without volunteers. Please call 863-8487 and volunteer today today.

  • The funding raised for The Salvation Army in Bakersfield provides a large variety of services in English and in Spanish including disaster        ;     response, emergency food and utility assistance, classes of family success, children's and youth programming as well as spiritual based events.

  • Money raised in Bakersfield stays in Bakersfield. 83% of every dollar raised in Bakersfield is reinvested in the lives of those who need it most.

Will you call 836-8487 and volunteer for either or both efforts today?
