Coulter pits "wise Latina" against "wise Jewess"
Ann Coulter has this, among others, to say about the recent Supreme Court decision that vindicated the firefighters who had their test scores thrown out in the name of racial quota: Say, if the threat of a lawsuit permits the government to ignore the Constitution, can pro-lifers get New Haven to shut down all abortion clinics by threatening to sue them? There's no question but that abortion clinics have a "disparate impact" on black babies. To that, all I can say is ... ZzzzOT! 18 comments from 9 users

Ann Coulter is inherently evil. In my opinion, those who listen to her or read her books are being influenced by a very hateful woman. posted by

If Coulter is that vile, then how come there's nary a negative opinion of her in my search of CatholicBlogs.com or CatholicLeague.com, but the same can be said about that saint Keith Olbermann? As Bill Donohue observes in his list of double standards: ● When confronted with the news story—broken by the Catholic League—that two women on his payroll had written several graphically obscene and defamatory statements assaulting Our Blessed Mother, Catholic teachings and religious conservatives, John Edwards called their language "intolerant" and immediately forgave them. After writer Ann Coulter used a slur against homosexuals, Edwards branded her one-word "hateful" and exclaimed that "we can't stand silently by and allow this kind of language to be used." I'm sure Elinem would be the first to tell you that most of his fellow Catholics -- even the orthodox kind -- aren't racist or bigoted (heck, a group I'm involved with at church is made up mostly of minorities yet THEY are the ones who are complaining not so discreetly about what Obamanation is doing to society). So truth must be the only thing that could explain why they don't see Coulter even remotely as being in the same vein as her liberal counterparts. posted by

Sorry Pax, but Catholicism has gotten it wrong in the past, or do I even need to remind you about the sale of indulgences? posted by

They could do better than Sotomeyer. Too bad that with the likes of Coultier mouthing off, she'll end up looking good. posted by

I think Sotamayor is a good choice. She hasn't had very many of her decisions overturned, and has a ton of experience as a judge. I do know conservatives prefer idealists (what I like to call judicial activists) over experience. posted by

So Pax, as a humble practitioner of Catholicism, you're all for the hateful vile that comes out of Coulter's lips? Oh that's right, you couldn't find anything on a Catholic blog addressing her hate speech, so it must not be true. Here's some help for you........The president of the University of St. Thomas condemned a speech at the Catholic school by conservative author Ann Coulter, saying "such hateful speech vulgarizes our culture and goes against everything the University of St. Thomas stands for." The Rev. Dennis Dease wrote in Bulletin Today, a university newsletter, that "although her presentation may have been meant as an 'act' or a 'shtick' to entertain by provoking those who disagree, such behavior unfortunately contributes to the growing dark side of our culture -- a disrespect for persons and their sincerely held beliefs." Coulter spoke at St. Olaf College the day before she visited St. Thomas. The president of St. Olaf, Christopher Thomforde, said students told him that her comments were inflammatory for little reason. This is what she thinks of Catholics Pax..."It took the Catholic Church hundreds of years to come up with the corrupt practice of papal indulgences." Maybe you should research a little further since that took me all of 5 minutes. posted by

Well, I suppose I should get a pair of scissors and cut off the sticky sheets from my body so I can lumber over to All Saints Catholic Store on H Street and inform the owner who recommended Coulter's book "Godless: the Church of Liberalism," which I ended up buying, that you folks think otherwise of his comments that she may harsh but speaks of the truth. posted by

Inform them of what? That Coulter's a very poor "expert" to hang your belief on? (Unless you want to know about voting fraud--she *IS* a recognized practitioner.)
