Canadian bishop charged with child pornography
No sooner did this bishop, Raymond Lahey, announce a settlement with sex abuse victims of other priests did he announce his resignation and was arrested after a search of his computer allegedly yielded some naughty images: http://www.google.com/hoste... Now before anyone starts foaming at the mouth about the Catholic Church, you have to realize that there are some liberals infecting it -- the types that would think the world of the Obamas http://people.bakersfield.c... and the Roman Polanskis: http://people.bakersfield.c...#- And those who would finance the ACORNs and other left-wingers: http://www.youtube.com/watc... I may be wrong and this guy could turn out to be a right-winger (if so, he has no sympathy from me), but a rather thorough search of the Internet has failed to yield anything to suggest that could be the case. In fact, I did come across at least one tidbit that'd suggest otherwise: http://www.catholicnewsagen... To bad Fr. Marcel Nault is no longer around. Folks like this bishop could benefit from his preaching like the one he did about hell back in 1992 in Fatima, Portugal: http://www.holysouls.com/he... Stay tuned.

Priests, celebs, politians, civil servants, teachers....it's a sad commentary that trust and influence can be betrayed for the sake of gratifing base, sick desires. While there might be reasons for such behavior, there are no excuses. posted by

Amen to that, Catpaw. And to think Michael Moore once considered becoming a priest. Good thing he didn't, as he, too, isn't immune to hypocrisy as pointed out by Catholic League in trashing his movie "Capitalism: a Love Story": http://www.catholicleague.o... posted by

Once again, Pax, this isn't a partisan issue and your dragging the tired, self-promoting focus of "us against them" into it is baseless. Liberals didn't infiltrate this priests computer and download the porn- the priest did it! Who turned him in or alerted the parish members to his proclivities is irrelevant. The priest, a man with almost unlimited access to the children of his parish, is viewing child pornography! His actions have consequences and it goes beyond partisan politics. If liberal is synonymous with "exposers of criminal actions", then sign me up as a liberal. Also, as far as I know, there's no political requirement for being a Catholic. Who are you to say who is "the right kind of Catholic"? Are you saying that there's no place for a liberal Catholic within the walls of a church?
