Abortion is the New Big Mac
President Obama and his pro-abortion acolytes often say things like "I believe that most women don't make that (abortion) decision lightly." The funny thing is that pro-aborts get mad when you call them pro-aborts. They demand to be called pro-choice. They say nobody's pro-abortion. Really? Even the quite profitable abortion industry? That's like saying McDonald's is actually against people eating fatty foods, they just firmly believe in giving people the choice to eat fatty foods. If I'm pro-abortion, I suppose that means you are pro-forcing women to have children they don't want. Childbirth is a medical procedure. That means you are also pro-forcing women to undergo medical procedures they don't want to have. You are one sick puppy, pax. posted by

Ok. First of all, I don't know where you got your '1 billion served" stat from, but it doesn't match up the actual data kept by the CDC, WHO, or about nine other fact checks that I've looked up. The highest number I found, for the world, is 30 million (in a year). That's a large number, but no where near one billion. Go to the slideshow presented by the Guttmacher Institute. You can find it here: http://www.guttmacher.org/p... Here are some things you left out of your post. 1. The world wide trend for abortion is DOWN. 2. This is in response to a rise in contraceptive use. 3. In countries where contraceptives have been banned or made taboo by the Catholic Church, abortion rates (mostly illegal) are at an all time high and the maternal mortality rate is higher than in other countries. 4. The Catholic Church spends more money protecting pedophile priests and funding gay marriage opposition than they do on contraceptive education or woman's health combined! 5. Additionally, if the money spent defending pedophile priests was put towards better uses...those same dollars could raise hundreds of thousands of children until the age of eighteen.

Furthermore, if you think women "go about this lightly", then you're delusional. posted by

Reason, do the math. If the Guttmacher Institute reports 41.6 million abortions worldwide in 2003, then all one has to do is multiply 40 million by the number of years since 1980 to come up with 1.2 billion. Besides, what difference does it make if the abortion toll tops a billion or remains in the hundreds of millions? One abortion is one too many! How'd you like it if your mother viewed you as nothing but two-all-beef-patties-special-sauce-lettu ce-cheese-pickles-onions-on-a-sesame-seed bun fit only to be tossed into the nearest trash receptacle? I can say from my experience in holding vigils at the local abortion clinic, a good many of them go in with a devil-may-care attitude. DJ, maybe you should look into a mirror to see who the real sick puppy is. If St. Peter drew a "get thee behind me, Satan!" remark from Jesus for thinking in the ways of man than of God, then I can only imagine what he'd say or do to those who are not followers of him. At the very least he will be ashamed before his father of those like DJ and Reason for being ashamed of him and the church he founded, the church that he promised would be guided by the Holy Spirit. The waste of time and effort DJ has spent in tearing down the kingdom of God is pathetic and breathtaking. Well, that is his "choice" if he wants to reject the church and in turn reject our savior despite Christ's promise that those who hear his disciples hear him. posted by

i am not pro-abortion but i am definitely anti-adoption or forcing a mother to keep and unplanned/unwanted baby. do you realize the high abuse rate among adopted children and children to young unmarried mothers? then those children grow up with lots and lots of problems and pass it on to their kids. the stats are there to substantiate my claims too. we need to educate our kids on some morals and frankly since impulsive behavior is a character trait passed on to ones children via DNA~if you can't wait to hop in the sack until you are in a committed loving marriage you shouldn't be bringing children into this world to begin with, the kids are the ones who pay the price, i know first hand. "One abortion is one too many" It is a much kinder sentence than a life of abuse, rejection and neglect. No one ever asks us adoptees how we feel about being here. I wish abortion had been legal when my mother got pregnant with me. she told me she would have had one had they been legal. so why don't you do-gooders go and help the poor abused children that are already here and leave the souls of those unborn children to go to a nice place rather than here on this sad existence they call Earth. I do also understand there are some good outcomes to adoption, but they are far and few between. I personally know many adoptive families, about 20 or so and only 2 are what I would consider good success stories. The rest are very sad situations. It breaks my heart to see them since I know exactly how they feel~i can see it in their eyes. posted by

I well never understand why young teenage girls get pregnant in the first place and then decide to gamble with a unborn childs life, only to kill it in the end. IMHO abortions are never for a good reason. Unless a young female gets raped than gets pregnant from that, there's no excuse of having a child when you are still one yourself. posted by

Animaluvr: If fathers taught thier sons to keep thier stuff in thier pants maybe there would"t be this problem, If Parnets talk to their children and provide birth control when needed then abortions would be fewer and adoption centers would be less children. posted by

Animaluvr: If fathers taught thier sons to keep thier stuff in thier pants maybe there would"t be this problem, Contraception works too. But even if every single conception were an intentional one, we would *STILL* need safe, legal abortion. Thank the nonexistent god for abortion.
