paxchristi3 - > Shining the light of the Catholic faith on the Culture of Death -> 'Back to the future' foiling Large Hadron Collider?
'Back to the future' foiling Large Hadron Collider?

This is quite a bizarre report. I'd like for Randomfactor to enlighten us on what this all means. I think he was really, really hoping they would find this "God particle" so he could ululate to the Flying Spaghetti Monster in a show of derision toward those who won't go along with his fantasy that we're mere products of chance and nature:

Someone call John Conner!

Just wondering, why did you post this in religion & faith?

I posted this in Religion & Faith because since God is the creator of the universe and the collider is searching for the invisible particle that explain the creation of the universe, it just makes sense to do that just like faith and reason go hand in hand.

Pax, I'm afraid I really don't see your point. The collider (which was originally supposed to have been built here but we went broke in the 90s) is cutting edge technology, the scientists are literally learning as they go, so naturally there are some things that baffle them. I fail to see the hand of God here, unless it God who is leading us to seek more knowledge, as he always has (or so I'm told by the Jesuits).

Pogo, there's a lot of speculation on what this theory could mean. Some think nature is going back in time to save the world. I'd find that less plausible than God having a hand in it.

As one wag put it:

Or maybe the future Higgs boson wriggles back in time into some dock worker’s brain and causes him to trip over the electrical cord … just in time.

At any rate, this stuff isn't easily comprehended by those who are as dumb as a bag of rocks or those without an understanding of metaphysics and philosophy that could possibly explain events like the rain of rocks on Hell's Half Acre in Ohio back in the days: http://www.ohio.com/news/65...
