Gotta hand it to World Net Daily's founder, Joseph Farah, for demonstrating the kind of watchdog mentality that has been sorely lacking among the media ever since their Anointed One took office without the proper papers. I'm sure the Founding Fathers, whose handiwork my family and I witnessed during our vacation there last week, would admire him as well for ensuring that the constitutional requirements for the presidency do not fall victim to soft tyranny. Behold his column from http://www.worldnetdaily.co...
Later this week we will celebrate the birth of this nation. We know where that birth took place – Philadelphia. We know who the parents were – we call them our "Founding Fathers." We know there were many witnesses and lots of documentation. We know the building in which this birth took place – Independence Hall. It's still there, a celebrated historical marker for visitors over the last 233 years. We know how much pain and sacrifice was involved with the birth of the nation and its aftermath. We know all this with certainty, in part, because there is a birth certificate for the nation drafted July 4, 1776, that has been well-preserved and observed ever since. That birth certificate, of course, is known as the Declaration of Independence. By the way, that document is not a computer-generated abbreviation. All the copies of the Declaration of Independence I have ever seen have been actual facsimiles. No one would expect a historically significant document to be chopped up, with names of key players removed, signatures excised and key details omitted. Thank goodness America has a birth certificate – one that the whole nation, including generations to come, can read and view and study and admire. It gives a legitimacy to our history and to who we are today. It leaves no doubt about from where we come. You can go see the actual document in the National Archives – just a few blocks from the White House. One thing you won't find in the National Archives, though I think you should, is a copy of the birth certificate of the first black president – Barack Hussein Obama. Don't you think that's strange? Don't you think there's a place for it in the National Archives, especially given the history of this nation and its conflicts over race and slavery? Don't you think it would be great if all Americans could go view the actual birth certificate of Barack Hussein Obama just like tens of thousands will be viewing the nation's birth certificate in Washington this week? Am I stretching a point? I don't think so. I believe documents are important. They are important for two reasons – to establish facts and for historical purposes. If documents weren't important, the government wouldn't collect them. If documents weren't important, government wouldn't demand that we produce them to prove who we are and that we are who we say we are. If documents aren't important, why then are tens of thousands of people visiting the National Archives this week to get a glimpse of the venerated Declaration of Independence – America's birth certificate? If documents aren't important, why do we spend millions of dollars a year preserving them in the National Archives? If documents aren't important, why do we spend millions of dollars a year ensuring that they can be inspected by the public? Do you get where I'm going here? As we prepare for Independence Day, the nation's birthday, a day marked by fireworks, flags, patriotic speeches, parades and reflections about a document that gives it all legitimacy and purpose, I can't help contrast our past traditions with our present attitudes. The man occupying the highest office in the land has never been required to produce a birth certificate demonstrating that he is constitutionally eligible to hold that office. And he's not volunteering to do so – raising even more suspicions about his eligibility. We obviously have a different attitude about historical documents today than we once did. I don't understand it. I don't know why any American wouldn't want to see Barack Obama's birth certificate – if for no other reason than historical sentimentality. I don't know why no hospital in Honolulu is renaming itself – or at least a wing – after the most famous baby ever born there. I don't know why no living American claims to have been present at that historic birth less than 47 years ago. And I can't understand why more Americans aren't curious about all this. I can only imagine some are afraid of what they might find. But what bothers me most about our attitude toward historical documents today is our disrespect for the most important one for all for Americans – the Constitution, which set three simple eligibility requirements for presidents of the United States, one of which has never been proven in the case of the current occupant of the White House. Think about that, this week, as you wave your flags, enjoy your fireworks, listen to speeches and revel in principles and ideals that have made America great since its birthday – since that birth certificate was signed by all those brave men and women who risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor on the dream that we could govern ourselves under the rule of law. What's up with all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over white women who are pro-life and favor traditional marriage? Of course, we all know about the piling on of Palin, the latest example being a sickening ad involving her special needs baby: http://politicalticker.blog... Then we had Carrie Prejean (soon to be followed by her successor as Miss California) being roasted by crybabies beginning with Perez Hilton. Now we have Keith Olbermann going over the deep end once again in blasting Jill Stanek as the "worst person in the world": http://catholicexchange.com... Can we expect Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to get this kind of treatment? http://www.calcatholic.com/... Oh, the insanity. Whoever said "sin makes you stupid" sure wasn't kidding. Is this the real deal or something to rival the infamous Nigerian 419 scam? It's all yours for a million bucks, otherwise you could take a chance on winning the bidding for it. Looks like the seller is putting his 100 percent positive rating on the line -- big time. Whoa, the item is no longer listed for sale. I had the page called up to see if it really exists and it did come up. But when I went back to it to see if there were any bids made on it, I got only a message saying that item was no longer available. It happened at 11 p.m. Friday. Now we'll never know. At least World Net Daily has a snapshot and the details of it for posterity: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... At least one judge considers this to be no laughing matter: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... ... the ark you've been looking for may no longer be lost: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... Wonder if Lego will need to redesign a certain product?
Just back from taking my family on a vacation trip to New York that included a whirlwind bus tour from Manhattan to the historic part of Philly (ol' Ben Franklin must have been rolling in his grave over all the trampling of the Constitution of late that should stir up quite the Tea Party Part II on the Fourth), to D.C. (glad to see the word "God" liberally slathered among the key landmarks), a chocolate factory and glass museum in Pennsylvania and Niagara Falls (no, I didn't see Gov. Mark Sanford hiking along the Appalachian Trail). Other times we stayed with friends in their Long Island home, where as the U.S. Open in nearby Bethpage showed, it was cloudy, cool and rainy most of the time. Sean Hannity took note of that on his show last night, saying that the Northeast is experiencing the coldest June on record and asking if good ol' Al Gore could send some global warming that way. The wealth and freedom certainly was on grand display in Manhattan. Too bad that Team Obama apparently is plotting to steal those from us with, as Joseph Farah of World Net Daily tells us, a plot designed not to save us from higher temperatures but to further empower themselves at our expense: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... Should there be any doubt about what I just wrote, do read on about how the EPA is silencing one of its senior researchers who won't go along with the ruse: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... Just when I thought newspapers were dead as Bill O'Reilly declared on his show tonight in which he debated some media guy about whether their declining fortunes can be attributed to their staffs being hogged by liberals, along comes something like this to bring me some real hope for a change: http://www.startribune.com/... Imagine that ... a secular columnist saying that a world with diminishing religion is a dangerous place and one where more and more clergy are being tolerated only if their words are fluff with no substance, and citing a theologian who dismisses the New Atheists as intellectual lightweights. How telling. Unless he were somehow able to get the Hawaiian officials to do his biding, the Big Zero apparently would have a bit of a problem qualifying under the Department of Hawaiian Lands program: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... As one commentator aptly puts it: "I'm fifty years old and I need to apply for a passport," wrote one. "So I scan some representation of COLB onto my Facebook page. If I take my laptop to the DMV, can I just open my laptop to show my web page to the clerk who will then verify my citizenship and issue me a legal passport? I'm sorry but some documents need a paper trail." Touche. For the doubters that remain, do yourselves a favor and research the difference between a Certification of Live Birth and Certificate of Live Birth. Then get back to me and let me know which one he has spent upward of a million bucks to not one, not two, but three law firms to keep from prying eyes. No, the mainstream media can't help you with this ... they are busy carrying Barry Soetoro's water. For further reading, may I recommend: http://www.therightsideofli... After all, you do care about the U.S. Constitution, don't you? A new book just came out in which a reporter writes about a newly trained exorcist in Saratoga, Calif., whom he followed for three years. The experience left a profound impression on the reporter, formerly a nominal Catholic. Religion News Service posted an excellent article about this topic on its website: http://www.religionnews.com... Catholic author Michael Brown provides us some intriguing tidbits from the book, such as a woman having a problem with a saint she calls "the jinx" and another as "the little one from Albania" during an exorcism, in an article that he posted on his website, Spirit Daily: http://www.spiritdaily.net/... Even the spirit of John Paul the Great apparently was in the act, causing this reply from the woman to a question about who just entered the room: "Nooooooo. Totus tuuuuuuuuuus!" Kind of gives you a sneak preview of the wailing and gnashing of teeth to come in the afterlife, doesn't it? The Right Response to Dr. Tiller’s Death Hello Pro-life Friend: As you know, abortionist George Tiller is dead. First, we should grieve for him that he did not have an opportunity to properly prepare his soul to face his Maker. Unless some miracle happened, he left this life with his hands drenched with the innocent blood of tens of thousands of babies that he murdered. Surely there will be a dreadful accounting for what he has done. It now falls to pro-life activists like you and me to stand strong and unflinching in the face of the unjust criticism we will now endure because of his killing. And so I turn my attention to the attacks that will follow his death. We must use this as a “teaching moment;” a chance for “dialogue” with our fellow Americans concerning this terrific holocaust of the unborn. In that light, I am going to speak clearly and without compromise. I beg you to read this entire letter, and to then watch the video I filmed. Let us be clear: George Tiller was a mass murderer. He routinely killed innocent children who were “viable.” For the unlearned, that means that those babies could live outside the womb on their own. He specialized in killing “handicapped” children whose parents decided that they were not fit to live. He even offered photographs of the dead children and baptisms for the victims that fell under his knife. According to God’s laws, and the laws that govern how we protect the innocent in times of peace, George Tiller was one of the most evil men on the planet; every bit as vile as the Nazi war criminals who were hunted down, tried, and sentenced after they participated in the “legal” murder of the Jews that fell into their hands. I write all of these words with surgical precision to shore up the more timid elements of the pro-life movement. Pro-life leaders are already falling over themselves to exclaim, “We are peaceful! We deplore this violence!” Of course we are peaceful; that is why this horrific shooting in a church has immediately garnered national attention. It is precisely because we are peaceful that Dr. Tiller’s killing sticks out like a huge wart on an otherwise flawless complexion. If abortionists were gunned down every week, it would gather no more attention than crack dealers who are gunned down every week by fellow drug dealers. For those surprised by my words, let me tell you exactly why I am using such clear and unflinching rhetoric. These child killers, and their allies in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill, will attempt to browbeat the pro-life movement into surrendering our most effective weapons in this battle: our rhetoric, our actions, and our images. Concerning rhetoric, they will blame those of us who call abortion “murder” and say that it is this highly charged rhetoric that inspires people to “take the law into their own hands.” Concerning actions, they will say that our protests and vigils and sit-ins are responsible for the shooting. Concerning images, they will whine that the pictures of babies murdered at the hands of Tiller and other abortionists incite people to acts of violence. All of these accusations are lies. Beyond that, these foolish accusations fly in the face of equally radical rhetoric, images, and images in the civil rights movement, the suffragette movement, and the abolitionist movement. If Dr. Martin Luther King had followed the advice of the timid in his day, President Obama would still be riding in the back of the bus. Simply put: pro-lifers must not flinch, waver, or in any way alter our course in our epic struggle to make child killing illegal again. Our rhetoric must bear witness to the truth: abortion is murder. Abortion is the brutal slaughter of innocent human beings; a vile, demonic murder of a human being made in the image of God. Those “doctors” like George Tiller who slay the innocent are hired assassins whose hands are covered with blood. As the sacred Scriptures say: “Cursed is he who receives a bribe to strike down an innocent person.” Our actions must be equal to this crime: we must protest with vigorous (yet peaceful) actions such as have been used by every social revolution since America’s birth. The easiest picture to have is that of the civil rights activists of the 1960s. They held “illegal” marches, freedom rides, and “sit-ins” at lunch counters; they were met with water canons, dogs, police brutality, arrests, and jail. If we are going to end child killing, we must unflinchingly adopt the strategies of heroes past. Our images must simply reflect the truth. We must continue to show the victims’ bodies that we have pulled out of dumpsters; we must not retreat a single inch from showing the decapitated heads of little boys and girls, the arms and legs that were suctioned or carved out of their mothers wombs; we must paint the picture of sewers and landfills being used as unholy graves for these holy victims. In the days following Dr. Tillers killing, every pro-abortion advocate in the country will howl that Tiller’s death is the fault of the pro-life movement’s rhetoric, actions, and images. We must not fear, nor flinch, nor waver on any front. Our mission is to end the legalized killing of the unborn from conception until natural birth. In this epic struggle – this “war” between the “culture of death” and the “culture of life” – there are going to be unforeseen crises and difficulties. Dr. Tiller’s death is one such unforeseen moment. However, we must not allow the forces of death to use this moment to glorify their heinous acts. Rather, we must use Dr. Tiller’s death as a “teaching moment” to pull the veil away from the insidious murder that is happening every day, every hour, in abortion mills like Tiller’s across the country. Wherever Mr. Tiller’s soul is right now – I know he agrees. Be strong, be brave, and be unflinching in the coming days. We must defend the babies in the face of the death of their killer.
Thankfully my fellow bloggers haven't succeeded in trying to attach my fellow Catholics by an umbilical cord to the right-wing extremists, for every single organization from the U.S. bishops to the scores of pro-lifers, including the Operation Rescue outfit founded Randall Terry spearheads, has denounced the killing of abortion doctor George Tiller. As a matter of fact, Operation Rescue made it clear that the killer "has never been a member, contributor or volunteer." As for Terry, well, the truth sometimes stings when he said that he reaped what he sowed. Like with SCOTUS nominee Sotomayor's comment that some regard as blatantly racist and sexist, perhaps he, too, can be forgiven for not stating things a little better. But it's all biblically based such as in Ezekiel where it says: "Since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you." So, neither the baby killer or his killer are pro-lifers, for both obviously have taken it upon themselves to decide who may live and who dies. Don't believe one reaps what he sows? Then how to explain the recent plane crash near a memorial to the unborn in a Catholic cemetery in Montana that took the lives of several members of the nation's largest abortion provider, whose chain includes the clinic in our own city? Now talk about a chilly coincidence: Tiller took over his father's abortion clinic after his parents and sister died in a 1970 plane crash, so reports Spirit Daily, which also brings up some accounts of his practice that shows that Tiller was truly a sick man just like his killer. Leave it to Catholic League's Bill Donohue to give the smackdown to those who resort to political gamesmanship over this whole affair, noting that worse than trying to blame Bill O'Reilly for the killer's action by running videos of his past denunciations of Tiller is the "hypocrisy of the Daily Kos: above the O’Reilly video is an advertisement for an upcoming interview on C-Span2 with Bill Ayers, the urban terrorist who is a hero in some left-wing circles." Indeed, senseless acts of violence begets senseless acts of violence. And it's edifying that Fr. Frank Pavone, as he says in the video, isn't going to back off on the fight for the right to life for all from the womb to the tomb. |
