It's edifying that there's at least one editor in America that I can trust to be honest with us. If Fox loses its way, expect World Net Daily to save the day: Exclusive: Joseph Farah warns journalists he's no longer playing Mr. Nice Guy Posted: October 31, 2009
By Joseph Farah
There was pompous old Bill O'Reilly again this week attacking one of his favorite targets – "birthers." He had two guests on with him – neither one cognizant of the facts surrounding the Barack Obama eligibility questions. Both of them happily nodded in agreement to most of the tripe emanating from O'Reilly's big, ill-informed mouth. Night after night, show after show, network after network this goes on. This is journalism? Whatever happened to "fair and balanced"? Whatever happened to getting other points of view? Whatever happened to the idea of interviewing those with whom you disagree? Whatever happened to the notion of representing honestly the opinions of others? I'm getting flat-out sick of it. It's not just the Obama flacks at MSNBC and CNN. It's Fox, too. Let's be honest about it. And it's not just the issue of eligibility where minimal journalism standards go right out the window. But it is a perfect illustration of my point. Not one of these cable networks, let alone the Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times or the major networks, has reported the significance of the fact that Michelle Obama admitted her mother-in-law gave birth out of wedlock. Nevertheless, these ignorant talking heads continue to treat this subject like it's a big joke that only smart people like them understand. I'm not going to make this about me – because it's not. But let me tell you just how biased ALL of these shows and networks are when it comes to this eligibility issue. Up until May of this year, I would regularly, at least once a week, get an invitation to be on these shows – especially Fox News. Do you know that since I launched the "Where's the birth certificate?" billboard campaign out of total frustration with the rest of the media I have not been invited on any cable news show? Do you think that's a coincidence? I was interviewed by CNN a couple weeks ago in what I can only characterize as an effort to ambush me. But, as far as I know, the program – or whatever it was – has never aired. Also, I am now hearing reports that some producers of these shows are asking potential guests questions like these:
If the answer to one of those questions is "yes," then the interest in the interview suddenly fades. Is this the new blacklisting? If it is, I'll tell you whom it's going to hurt – those doing the blacklisting. I don't think anyone realizes just how many people read WND. I know exactly how big this audience is. It is 8 million strong. I'd like to see it bigger – and it's growing all the time. But you can't pretend an audience of 8 million doesn't exist. You can't pretend that a news agency reaching that many people doesn't exist. At least you can't pretend and get away with it indefinitely. I believe I have been far too kind to my colleagues in the rest of the media. I have been playing Mr. Nice Guy. (Column continues below)
Well, Mr. Nice Guy has been around this business for 30 years and knows where a lot of bodies are buried. And if I have to redirect some of my attention toward reporting on the media, I will do it. Consider that a warning. Consider this a shot across the bow. I'm going to be watching and listening and reading what's being reported out there with more attention. I assumed for too long that at least some of my colleagues would respect good journalism by others – credit it appropriately, acknowledge it, play fair, play by the rules and live and let live. But I'm not seeing that. I'm seeing something detestable out there – jealousy, ignorance, spiking of major stories, theft of others. It's going to end. I promise. A new day is dawning. ... and then there are costumes from hell: http://reader.creativeminor... http://www.catholicleague.c... Those who think the fat lady is singing on the presidential eligibility question have another think coming. I figured the judge, if he knew his stuff and took the issues seriously, would realize that he was not the one to decide this matter. But, of course, I wondered if he would take a shoot-from-the-hip approach to this matter like so many other folks have and do something audacious like order the president to hand over his birth certificate and other records. But attorney Leo Donofrio, a smart cookie who challenged the eligibility of Obama, McCain and a minor candidate in the presidential election, has nothing but high praise for the judge, saying he gave the Justice Department's argument that quo warranto cannot be used to challenge Obama's eligibility the smackdown: http://naturalborncitizen.w... What that means, ladies and gentlemen, is this: The ruling today affirms that the proper venue for challenging the eligibility of a sitting President is the DC District Court. This is a very encouraging ruling for those contemplating a quo warranto challenge to President Obama’s eligibility in the DC District Court. Not to cast aspersions against the judge, but if he hadn't made the proper ruling, I would have thought that it'd rather revealing that one of his law clerks may have ties to the law firm that Obama unloaded tons of Benjamins on to keep his questionable background from prying eyes, and isn't a shameful that Wikipedia has scrubbed the entry about this connection from the judge's page?: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... and http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... Phil at the Right Side of Life blog, who has doggedly been following this issue from Day One, offers another thorough analysis of the ruling, agreeing with Leo that a judge should not be the one to remove a sitting president from office: http://www.therightsideofli... Sooooo, that's NOT all, folks! Wonder if the company will hawk this product with chants like: "I scream, you scream, fetuses scream, we all scream for skin cream!" Confirmed: Skin cream contains fetal proteins Posted: October 28, 2009
By Drew Zahn
WorldNetDaily A pro-life organization is blasting a Switzerland-based cosmetics manufacturer whose website openly admits some of its products were developed from the tissues of an aborted baby. Children of God for Life is a non-profit organization focused on the bioethics of embryonic tissue use in medicine and manufacturing. One of its current campaigns includes petitioning pharmaceutical companies to produce safe, effective alternatives to vaccines derived or cultivated from aborted fetal tissue. But the organization's attention has now turned Neocutis, a company with offices in San Francisco which has developed a line of anti-aging products that include an ingredient the company has trademarked as Processed Skin Cell Protein, or PSP, developed from skin cells harvested from an abortion. "It is absolutely deplorable that Neocutis would resort to exploiting the remains of a deliberately slaughtered baby for nothing other than pure vanity and financial gain," said Debi Vinnedge, executive director of Children of God for Life, in a statement. "There is simply no moral justification for this." The website for Neocutis, which is privately held with estimated annual sales of in excess of $2 million, explains that its research began years ago, when scientists discovered fetal skin's unusual ability to heal without scarring. Scientists at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland, then created a process to extract proteins from fetal cells in the attempt to obtain an optimal, naturally balanced mixture of nutrients. The scientists then infused those nutrients into a line of cosmeceutical anti-aging products: Neocutis skin cream, Journée day cream, Lumière eye cream and Bio-Gel bio-restorative hydrogel – products Vinnedge is advising women to throw in the garbage before contacting Neocutis to voice their concerns. "There is absolutely no reason to use aborted babies for such selfish motives," Vinnedge said. "It is anti-life, anti-woman and counter-productive, as Neocutis is about to find out!" Children of God for Life boasts that it has been a watchdog on pharmaceutical companies using aborted fetal cell lines in medical products and has received thousands of inquiries from the public on the use of aborted fetal material in cosmetics. But this is the first time, the organization says, that any company was bold enough to put the information right on its own website and in product literature. In fact, the Neocutis website openly explains the history of its PSP ingredient: "A small biopsy of fetal skin was donated following a one-time medical termination," the website states, "and a dedicated cell bank was established for developing new skin treatments. Originally established for wound healing and burn treatments, today this same cell bank also provides a lasting supply of cells for producing Neocutis' proprietary skin care ingredient Processed Skin Cell Proteins." The company adds, "No additional fetal biopsies will ever be required." But Children of God for Life finds little consolation in the company's statement. "You note in your literature that 'no further fetal biopsies will be needed,' as though the life of the one child you have exploited has no value," wrote the organization in a letter to Neocutis' CEO. "It is deplorable that you would attempt to mollify the public and whitewash your badly tarnished image so thoughtlessly." Vinnedge also told WND that companies aren't required to disclose their research history to the public, so there may be facts conveniently omitted from the Neocutis story. "What we don't know is how many other fetuses were involved before they perfected that one cell line," she surmised. "There's a possibility there were more." WND contacted Neocutis repeatedly for comment, but phone messages were not returned. A Businessweek web report says the company was founded in 2003 and its directors were identified as Frederic-Edouard Koehn, Patrick Hohlfeld, Diego Braguglia and Jennifer Pearson. Children of God for Life, however, is actively calling for a boycott of all Neocutis products, beginning a campaign to contact the company's investors and even offering free publicity to companies that will certify in writing their products are free from ingredients derived from aborted babies. "We know there are companies using moral sources for collagen and skin proteins," Vinnedge said. "We intend to publicly promote these other cosmetic companies competing with Neocutis that are willing to step forward and contact us." Don't want to go gloom and doom on ya all, so I'll let Vox Day do that: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... As I commented on Audrey's post on the subject of the rebound in the economy: The bump in the economy is artificial and will not last. A Fox News business analyst said the same this morning, saying it's just folks jacking up their credit card debt and seasonal hiring that are propping up this momentary giddiness. This is quite a bizarre report. I'd like for Randomfactor to enlighten us on what this all means. I think he was really, really hoping they would find this "God particle" so he could ululate to the Flying Spaghetti Monster in a show of derision toward those who won't go along with his fantasy that we're mere products of chance and nature: I'm feeling so gay today over the commentary by the Catholic League's Bill Donohue on the report by World Net Daily that our morally bankrupt safe-schools czar, Kevin Jennings, was more than a passive supporter of the radical pro-homosexual group ACT UP. You'll have to excuse me for what you might consider to be a slur against our undocumented president on this matter, but that is specifically what the African media is referring to him as. As for Jennings, do read the sordid details from Donohue and weep for our nation: October 22, 2009 Catholic League president Bill Donohue speaks to the selection of Kevin Jennings as Director of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools: On September 23, I wrote a news release on the curious moral credentials of Kevin Jennings to be President Obama’s Safe Schools Czar: a former drug user and irresponsible teen counselor, he is also a Christian basher. What was not known at the time is that he is also a proud member of ACT UP, the homosexual urban terrorist group that broke into St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1989 and disrupted Mass; the Eucharist was desecrated and obscene depictions of Cardinal O’Connor were posted. Now a group called MassResistance, and the website WorldNetDaily, have exposed Jennings as a member of ACT UP. And he is no mere member: Jennings is listed as a donor to a sick display, “ACT UP New York: Activism, Art, and the AIDS Crisis, 1987-1993,” currently featured at the Harvard Art Museum. Harvard, of course, would never feature a display of Klan paraphernalia and say it was being done for the purpose of “dialogue.” The real story here is not the corruption of Harvard—that’s old hat—the real story is the president of the United States choosing a morally challenged anti-Catholic homosexual to join his team. That Jennings belongs to, and sponsors, an urban terrorist organization, should alone disqualify him from public service at a municipal level. And remember, Obama did not choose him to monitor global cooling—he was chosen to instruct youth on moral matters. Catholics deserve to know why Obama likes Jennings. I saw all this coming when our Dear Leader won the election. Those who voted for him can't say they weren't warned. Instead, they just deluded themselves into believing he wouldn't dare ram through the radicals' agenda, given what may be the only narrow window of opportunity to do so in their lifetime. Fortunately, his poll numbers are taking a beating. Before anybody starts bashing me, a mere messenger, do check out the link to the World Net Daily article at the top to find out who really has a problem. As you know, two can play this game. So if Jennings is right that 20 percent of the population are radicals that he's aligned with and 20 percent are traditionalists like myself, that leaves the remaining 60 percent to once again choose Barabbas or Jesus. It sends a tingly feeling up my leg to know there are still a few who will not report what our undocumented president and his minions decide, especially those who know evil when they see it: Posted: October 20, 2009
When Phelim Mcaleer pointed out the inconvenient fact from his documentary "Not Evil, Just Wrong," that there are more polar bears today – not less – contrary to Al Gore's documentary, Gore responded by … cutting off his microphone. That's what the Obama administration is trying to do to us, and I would make the case that what's going on today isn't just wrong, it's downright evil. Evil. Like a guy who murders 70 million people. That's pretty evil. I think we could all agree on that. Well, not all of us. White Hous communications director Anita Dunn actually admires a mass murderer. She says Mao Zedong as one of the two people she turns to most. Disagree with him and he'd put a bullet to your head. That's her favorite philosopher. She told the Dominican government that she and the Obama campaign "absolutely control[ed]" the media. They control what's reported and how. That's why they don't like that @#*!% Fox News. They reported the story of Obama's czar choice of self-described Communist Van Jones, and revealed the ACORN sting video that exposed Obama's pet organization that was previously best-known for voter fraud. Now they're also know for helping to get government funds for a house of prostitution with under-age, illegal aliens. They don't like that Fox News standard of: "We report, you decide." No, they want it to be "You report what we decide." That's why Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod are making the rounds telling the world that Fox "isn't real news." Unlike NBC, CNN and MSNBC, Fox, they contend, has "a perspective." I just wonder how long it took them to actually say that with a straight face. No, MSNBC doesn't have "a perspective." They have propaganda. I don't watch them because I'm not bulimic; I don't like throwing up. It's the same way they attacked Rush Limbaugh. Obama started it months ago. But now with made up quotes that Limbaugh never said, they've blocked him from purchasing a football franchise. Welcome to Chicago-style politics. First they came for Rush Limbaugh, but we didn't speak up because we weren't the highest-rated talk-show host in America. Then they came for Fox news, and we didn't speak up because we were all just watching with our mouths hanging open in disbelief. Even CNN has recognized the evil. Even they pointed out that we have a president who will talk with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but not Fox News. No, they want to assault the one television network that won't march in lock step with the rest of Obama's media minions they "absolutely control." State-controlled media. Aghhh. Diversity czar Mark Lloyd said Hugo Chavez's "incredible" and "dramatic" revolution is something to be admired. Take from the private citizens and give to the government. And now Lloyd in a position to live out his dream. The state-run media has its glitches: Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. That's why Obama wants a real state-run media. That's right, completely owned and operated by the government, with him at the helm. That's why the "newspaper bailout" is being planned and discussed, so we don't have all those blogs the president dislikes so much. Oh yes, that's why they want control of the Internet. This isn't just wrong; it's downright evil. Despite all of this government control of media, Obama is still having difficulty getting through his government takeover of our health and our lives. Most don't want it, despite what 99 percent of the "news" is reporting. The same is true of their thought-crime legislation, phony global warming-inspired control-and-tax legislation and more socialist spending. I have an idea. Let's release a big silver balloon shaped like a saucer and tell everybody that the health-care bills are in it. Let's throw in the hate-crimes legislation, control-and-tax bill and the rest of their socialist spending. Then count the seconds until it's shot down from the sky by freedom lovers and Second Amendment supporters everywhere. The only problem is with all the thousands of pages of lethal legislation they want to pass in Congress, our balloon wouldn't be able to fly, even with all the hot air in Washington.
Looks like the fruits borne by ol' King Henry VIII have gotten rotten enough to send the traditional Anglicans packing and swimming the Tiber River to seek refuge from the liberal takeover of the Episcopal Church that has caused it to implode. Welcome back home, brothers and sisters! There had been talk of this happening, but certainly not so soon. Praise be to Pope Benedict XVI for "the boldest move since the Reformation": http://www.csmonitor.com/20... The Archbold Gang at the Creative Minority Report should be commended for pulling all the news and comments about this historic event together: http://www.creativeminority... It appears that only 5,000 of the 400,000 members of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) reside in the United States, but I'm betting there will be more jumping off the sinking ship to join the exodus, perhaps even the group of local Anglicans headed by Fresno-based Bishop John-David Schofield, whose split from the Episcopal Church to join a more traditional communion in the Southern Cone region created a ruckus here in recent years. That's not to say that the Catholic Church doesn't have its crazy lefties, but at least it doesn't have a hierarchy that bends like a reed in the wind to the whims of its flock who would rather change the church than to have it change them like Rowan Williams, the archbishop of Canterbury, let happen in the Anglican Communion. It'll be interesting how the liberal CINOs (Catholics in name only) like Nancy Pelosi will receive the Catholic Church's new family members. Chances are they will regard them as homophobes and misogynists: http://www.creativeminority... Well, if this turns out to be the liberal Catholics' worst nightmare, no one is keeping them from defecting. The Episcopalians who share their rebellious nature certainly would greet them with wide-open arms. I just wish they'd do so sooner so that our undocumented president can stop picking Catholic dissidents to fill key posts in his administration as if trying to put lipstick on a pig. The latest such nominee, to head the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, is a nutty professor from the Jesuit Georgetown U. named Chai Feldblum, a lesbian activist who has no problem with polygamy or doing away with conscience protections: http://www.creativeminority...
Choose wisely, folks. Will it be the Culture of Death as represented by Barabbas and other losers of his ilk ... or will it be the Culture of Life as represented by Jesus and the rock that he built his church on--namely Peter and his successors--against which he promised the gates of hell would not prevail? Meet the winner of the Family for Life Award and a potential future president ... By Peter J. Smith WASHINGTON, D.C., October 16, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Both the family and the Church stand in the way of socialism's triumph, former US Senator Rick Santorum told Christians gathered for the 17th International Week of Prayer and Fasting last week. The pro-life champion warned attendees, however, that both institutions are under heavy attack from Obama-administration policies. "We are under a great assault with this President and this Congress on the issue of life. We are under a great assault, maybe even greater assault, on the foundational issue of the family," Santorum told those gathered for the October 11 dinner at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
"There will be an assault on the institution of marriage," Santorum promised his audience. "Why? Because the left knows that they can't really have government come in and take control of everything unless they destroy the family. Unless you destroy the family and destroy the Church they cannot ultimately be successful in getting socialism to be accepted in this country and that's what their objective is." Santorum asked everyone to pray in these times for those in public office, for those discerning whether to run for office in 2010, as well as "for those who are out protesting and understand that there is something foundationally wrong with what's been going on here." But Santorum added that Christians must pray hard for the United States in the current battle over health-care, because the proposed reform has grave problems that go beyond the "major issues" of abortion coverage and the lack of conscience protection clauses. "There is another huge issue out there and that's just the whole concept of socialized medicine," said Santorum. Santorum argued that Obama's reforms will transform health-care into "an account in the federal government" in which "accountants" or Congress will determine how much healthcare an individual gets "as part of our budgetary process." Once the health-care of individuals is totally dependent on the central government, the left has secured power, Santorum explained. "You say, 'well the Catholic bishops are for that,'" continued Santorum. "Well, I'd say a couple of things. Number one, shame on them." At that moment, a round of applause erupted from the dinner guests. Although a handful of Catholic bishops have taught that the government reform violates Catholic social teaching for the reasons Santorum mentioned, the US Catholic bishops conference in general has indicated that it would be willing to support government-run health-care, so long as the reform does not subsidize abortion or violate conscience protections for health-care workers. But the former Pennsylvania senator concluded that the individual - when covered by government insurance - loses real health-care, the treatment he needs, in the name of cutting costs. Santorum pointed out that the course of socialized medicine in Europe, and the Netherlands in particular, give an opportunity to "see what happens to the value of human life in those countries." In particular, those who suffer denial of treatment or rationing of care under socialized medicine are "those on the margins of life." These include those born "premature with disabilities … those who are at the end of life" and "those who have complex diseases or chronic care." "These people, their lives are not valued," stated Santorum. "Why? Because of agencies that determine how much money is spent and based on how long you're going to live or the quality of life you are going to live. That's how accountants do these things. That's how members of Congress will have to do these things. Is this a good expenditure of our money or not? This happens every day in Europe." Santorum explained that Americans need to wake up to the fact that nothing in the American DNA insulates them from committing the same moral evils as the Europeans. The Netherlands, "the most liberal country in Europe" today, Santorum said, is the only country that "did not go along with the Nazi doctors in doing sterilizations and abortions" and suffered persecution for it. "And yet, within two generations, as a result of socialized medicine and the government's attempt to contain costs, doctors were turned into accountants," said Santorum. Now in the name of cutting costs, Dutch doctors counsel assisted suicide, deny care to premature-born babies under 25 weeks, and euthanize children born disabled. "This is the custom and the practice in socialized medicine countries, who have limits on budgets. It is simply too expensive to do it any other way," reiterated Santorum. "And so I say again to the Catholic Bishops: 'what are you thinking when you support government medicine?'" Earlier in the evening, Santorum accepted on behalf of him, his wife Karen, and his family the "Family for Life Award." Santorum is no stranger to fighting for the right-to-life and for these rights in health-care: both on political and personal levels. Last year, he and his wife welcomed into their family their now 17-month-old daughter "Bella," who was born with Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder which is fatal before birth in 90 per cent of cases. Along the way, the Santorums fought to guarantee Bella's health-care against health-care providers hostile to her right to life, because she was born with a disability. Santorum was asked recently if he would consider seriously a run for US President in 2012. Santorum revealed that while he was indeed "thinking about it," he was "not sure" and asked for continued prayers while he discerns. It's bad enough to learn the news of the admission by Chairman Maobama's flack that his staff controlled the media during the election campaign and the war it has launched against Fox News, now we have this commentary by World Net Daily's founder being ashamed of Exclusive: Joseph Farah declares, 'arrogance' of press is breathtaking Posted: October 19, 2009
By Joseph Farah
When a daring young man named James O'Keefe and a 20-year-old young woman named Hannah Giles rigged up some hidden video recorders and revealed the true depths of depravity of Barack Obama's ACORN, you might have expected these whistleblowers to be treated like heroes in the media. After all, they were doing the media's work – the work the media had failed to do for so long, as this corrosive and corrupt gangster organization got fatter and meaner while collecting hundreds of millions from taxpayers. Instead of welcoming O'Keefe and Giles into the fraternity and giving them awards for courage and making job offers, the media were downright hostile to the pair. They weren't asked how they did it. They weren't even asked why they did it. They weren't asked about the objects of their sting. There was little outrage or even concern expressed about ACORN officials willingly participating in exploiting under-age foreign girls as prostitutes or their eagerness to break other laws. What did the media want to know about the ACORN tapes? They wanted to know if O'Keefe, the 25-year-old mastermind of the operation, had been trained at the infamous Leadership Institute, a conservative political organization in Washington. It was as if his motivations were somehow the issue. Who cares where he was trained? It's not like they taught Obi Won Kenobi Jedi-style mind control tricks at the Leadership Institute. But that's the point. To most of my colleagues in the media, it's perfectly all right to lie about what Rush Limbaugh says and believes. It's just not OK to give ACORN members an opportunity to reveal the kind of monsters they truly are. I'm ashamed of my profession. At least I'm ashamed of most of those who claim to be practitioners of my profession. The arrogance, self-righteousness and cluelessness they exhibit is truly breathtaking. I saw it again last week when we rolled out the new book "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America." Here is a story about three brave men – authors Paul Sperry, P. David Gaubatz and his son, Chris – who chronicled stunning new details about the secret operations of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, based in part on a covert six-month-long penetration of the group. And how did the media react? A typical story is one written by the Politico. It was so biased toward the unindicted terrorist co-conspirators that it was actually posted on CAIR's website. Nobody at Politico dreamed of talking to the authors to see what they had actually found. The entire story was constructed around the "wrongs" perpetrated against the innocent bystanders who make up one of the most important American beachheads of the Muslim Brotherhood, the same organization that spawned al-Qaida, Hamas and Hezbollah. It's like a collective madness has overcome my colleagues. They've lost the ability to think clearly, reason and recognize real threats to freedom, justice and decency. The worst threat they can see is an imaginary one – that always comes from that "vast right-wing conspiracy." The "extremists" they see are not people like Van Jones and John Holdren and Cass Sunstein and Kevin Jennings – people serving in the highest levels of government. Instead, the "extremists" they see are people like me – running an independent news agency on a virtual shoestring, or people like Sperry and the Gaubatzes, or people like O'Keefe and Giles. Let me tell you something. I'm no threat to your freedom. Neither are Sperry, the Gaubatzes, O'Keefe or Giles. But if you want to discourage people like us from doing what we do, who is going to do it? If you want to give carte blanche to the ACORNs and CAIRs of the world to do their thing immune from exposure, where do you think that will lead? President Obama and his pro-abortion acolytes often say things like "I believe that most women don't make that (abortion) decision lightly." The funny thing is that pro-aborts get mad when you call them pro-aborts. They demand to be called pro-choice. They say nobody's pro-abortion. Really? Even the quite profitable abortion industry? That's like saying McDonald's is actually against people eating fatty foods, they just firmly believe in giving people the choice to eat fatty foods. By Matthew Archbold at Creative Minority Report (www.creativeminorityreport.com) Star Parker whacks NFL owners who sided with haters of Limbaugh Posted: October 17, 2009 By Star Parker
DeMaurice Smith, NFL Players Association chief, urged the league to nix Rush Limbaugh's participation in a consortium to buy the St Louis Rams. Buying Al Sharpton's hype that Limbaugh is a racist, Smith whined that football is at its best "when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred." But who are the discriminators and haters here? Sharpton blocked Limbaugh like Gov. Orval Faubus tried to block black children from entering Central High in Little Rock, Ark., in 1957. Limbaugh can't make an investment because some don't like him? Based on something he did? No, based on who they allege he is. Once blacks could not live as equals in America because of their race. Because of bigotry, they could not freely mix in society at large, buy a house, get a loan, or vote. Dr. King led a movement whose goal was supposedly that the ideals and laws of a free society apply to all, that a person's humanity and God-given rights are generic and cannot be denied because of myth, slander, or innuendo about whom they supposedly are. Unfortunately, these are not the ideals of the race entrepreneurs who took over this movement and who refuse to recognize its completion because it would put them out of business. We see today that if Al Sharpton does not like a man, and he pulls circumstantial evidence to claim he is a racist, he can get that man's rights to freely operate and do business in our society abrogated. It is a process no different from the past in which racists produced "information" which "proved" that blacks were inferior and incapable of living as free and equal citizens. But give credit where it's due. Sharpton is a skilled entrepreneur and knows how to get his business done. What is pathetic is the gutless, ill informed, and misguided businessmen and businesswomen, from all walks of American life, who are ready to cave to race blackmail at the drop of a hat. Like racists of the past who bought bigoted claims about blacks to rationalize their racism, so NFL team owners showed zero interest in investigating claims and allegations made about Limbaugh. There was zero interest in the fact that Limbaugh never made most of the provocative statements attributed to him. Zero interest in investigating if the few remarks that Rush did indeed make that might be construed as incendiary were indicative that he is racist. And no interest to see if Limbaugh actually ever did anything that might be considered discriminatory. Captains of American industry – multimillionaires and billionaires who own NFL franchises – acted with the greatest of ease to discriminate against Limbaugh based only on allegations from those who hate him. One of the owners vocal against Limbaugh was Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons. Blank is a billionaire who co-founded Home Depot. Blank's family foundation makes contributions to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood was founded by eugenicist and racist Margaret Sanger and is the No. 1 killer of unborn black children in the nation. A few years ago Planned Parenthood workers were recorded agreeing to earmark someone's contributions for only black abortions. In my view, Blank's support of Planned Parenthood is infinitely more damaging to America's black community than any off-handed remark made by Rush Limbaugh. Should Blank be forced to divest his ownership in the Falcons? American businessmen should be the first defenders of the principles of our free society. Sadly, few even seem to know what they are, let alone defend them. America's largest corporations funnel millions every year to Sharpton, Jackson and black left-wing organizations that promote moral relativism and socialism. It's no wonder so many Americans sense today that American greatness is becoming a relic of history. It's bad enough to read a recent article about "Moonbeam" Brown refusing to stick up for the state's voters who chose "Yes on 8": http://www.calcatholic.com/... But much more disturbing is a lefty with the apparent mindset of Mao Tse-Tung saying: "Homophobia should be identified as a sickness, with families court-ordered into treatment programs." Hat tip to Brian Brown of the National Organization of Marriage for spreading the word about that in an e-mail that I received from him: Something fascinating just happened in Iowa: The president of the Iowa-Nebraska NAACP just refused to endorse Iowa's Democratic Gov. Chet Culver, instead throwing his support to one of the six GOP candidates for governor. Excuse me for baring my teeth as I post this commentary from Bill Donohue of the Catholic League about the modern-day slavemasters in our midst. Go tell those old pharaohs to let our people go! MARYLAND FEMINISTS TARGET CATHOLIC HOSPITAL Catholic League president Bill Donohue jumped on this issue today: Feminists from Planned Parenthood, NARAL and the National Organization for Women (NOW), are saying that if Holy Cross gets the bid, it would hurt “indigent citizens.” Why would this happen? Because their care is “reimbursed by state funds.” This argument, however, collapses when considering the evidence: Holy Cross has a mission statement that commits it to doing charitable work for the indigent. This is not idle talk. For example, right now, more than 70 percent of uninsured women having children come from around the state to Holy Cross’ current location in Silver Spring. What’s really bugging the feminists is the refusal of Catholic hospitals to perform abortions. That’s why a member of NOW exploded at Holy Cross, telling them to “get out of the way.” The champions of abortion would rather see uninsured women suffer before ever saying okay to a Catholic hospital. Think of it this way. Why is one group of women, almost all of whom are wealthy, white and post-menopausal, so enthusiastic about the rights of another group of women, almost all of whom are poor, non-white and fertile? It wouldn’t make sense unless it was the goal of the privileged to limit the numbers of the dispossessed. This, of course, is exactly what motivated Margaret Sanger to found Planned Parenthood—to weed out what she called “the undesirables.” Coupled with their virulent anti-Catholicism, these affluent feminists should be discussed in every college class on racism, classism and bigotry. Can the Catholic Church bashers and Polanski groupies please call off the hound dogs or sic 'em this-away or that-away to make things a little less hypocritical? Reporter Paul Vitello shows the shocking extent of child sexual abuse in Brooklyn’s Orthodox Jewish community. He also details the cover-ups that have long been aided and abetted by law enforcement. Where have all the church-and-state advocates been all these years when Orthodox rabbis were allowed by the D.A.’s office to settle these cases “internally”? Where have all the professional victims’ groups been in staging protests outside synagogues? Where have all the sue-happy lawyers been seeking to plunder the Orthodox? Where have all the comedians and late-night entertainers been in cracking jokes about rabbis raping kids? It’s not just Orthodox Jews who have been given a pass: no group has gotten away easier than public school employees. Consider this. Because public school students have only 90 days to file suit, it is already too late to prosecute a teacher—in virtually every state—who molested a minor as recently as last spring. But if the offense took place in a Catholic school, the student has years to file suit. Not only that, molesting teachers are still shuffled from one school district to another; it’s called “passing the trash.” Orthodox Jews try cases of child rape in rabbinical courts. Imagine if the Catholic Church failed to report abuse cases to the authorities and decided instead to institute its own ecclesial courts? Today’s article quotes a Jewish attorney urging law enforcement to recognize “religious sensitivities” for the guilty by seeking alternatives to prison. Allow a Catholic attorney to advise the same and it’s called corruption. Last year, 40 minors in this small Jewish community said they were abused. Last year, there were 10 such allegations in the entire Catholic Church in all 50 states. Catholics are fed up with the duplicity. It’s not just Roman Polanski who can rape and run with impunity these days. The politics of child rape is sickening. But it looks like he backfired on his calculation that he could win the support of the bishops by coming to Notre Dame's graduation ceremony and receiving an honorary doctorate (for what, I don't know, just like I don't know what the hell he got the Nobel Peace Prize for except maybe by getting the mainstream media to behave and be his personal stenographer). Now out of desperation, his staff is resorting to lies to discredit the bishops as well as have them believe that Obamacare is no wolf in sheep's clothing. Exclusive: Joseph Farah addresses charge WND is 'explicitly ideological' Posted: October 13, 2009
By Joseph Farah
Well, it's official. The self-proclaimed watchdog of the news media admits the dirty little secret – "The mainstream press is liberal." That's the word from Thomas Edsall, formerly of the Washington Post and now with the Huffington Puffington Post, in the Columbia Journalism Review. But it's not what you think. It's an admission, yes. But it's also a rallying cry for a coming out party – a giant celebration of the media's liberaldom. "Once, before 1965, reporters were a mix of the working stiffs leavened by ne'er-do-well college grads unfit for corporate headquarters or divinity school," wrote Edsall. "Since the civil rights and women's movements, the culture wars and Watergate, the press corps at such institutions as the Washington Post, ABC-NBC-CBS News, the NYT, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, etc. is composed in large part of 'new' or 'creative' class members of the liberal elite – well-educated men and women who tend to favor abortion rights, women's rights, civil rights, and gay rights. In the main, they find such figures as Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Pat Robertson, or Jerry Falwell beneath contempt." Edsall goes on to agree with critics that if only reporters were allowed to vote, "Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and John Kerry would have won the White House by landslide margins." None of it matters, explains Edsall, because "While the personnel tend to share an ideological worldview, most have a personal and professional commitment to the objective presentation of information, a commitment that is not shared by the conservative media." What is the "conservative media," according to Edsall and the esteemed Columbia Journalism Review? "Fox News, the Weekly Standard, National Review, the Washington Times, Drudge, the Washington Examiner, the American Spectator, CNS News, Townhall, WorldNetDaily and Insight Magazine are all explicitly ideological," he claims. Well, I think it's time Edsall and CJR get a little journalism lesson from someone (me) who has perhaps has a tad more experience and understanding of the business. No. 1: I don't believe Fox News is explicitly ideological. Nor do I think it is "conservative." But I'll let Rupert Murdoch fight his own battles. No. 2: The Weekly Standard, National Review, American Spectator and Townhall are not only explicitly ideological, they are OPINION magazines. They are not in the news business! No. 3: I'm not aware that either the Washington Times or the Washington Examiner are explicitly ideological. Neither do I believe they are "conservative." Please enlighten me: Maybe I'm mistaken, but show me where these two newspapers have ever avowed conservatism. No. 4: Insight Magazine, formerly a product of the Washington Times, is kaput, as far as I can see. Maybe Edsall and CJR are in need of a little fact checking. No. 5: I'm not aware of Drudge ever calling himself a "conservative." Maybe I'm wrong. But, he, too, has a big enough bullhorn to fight his own battles – certainly bigger than CJR, Edsall and the Huffington Puffington Post combined. No. 6: WorldNetDaily has disavowed the label "conservative" more times than I can count. Nowhere has WND ever proclaimed itself with such a label. And this apparently bears repeating and further explanation. Since the peg for this story by Edsall, and a host of other similar reports, some still upcoming, by the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and the Los Angeles Times, is at least in part the exposure and departure of Van Jones as Barack Obama's "green jobs czar," it's worth noting again that the reporting that led to his resignation was done by WND's Aaron Klein, I think I speak with some authority on the matter. WND is a news agency – the largest independent source of news on the Internet. It was founded by me – a lifelong journalist with a career spanning four decades and including stints in which I ran daily newspapers in major markets, none of which included any of the "conservative" media mentioned in Edsall's list. The journalists working at WND all have similar qualifications and experience in the so-called "mainstream media." None of them has ever worked in "conservative media," if that is not an oxymoron. The label "conservative" has been one placed on us, mainly by our competitors as a way of marginalizing us. Understandable, of course, but hardly "objective" and "neutral." That's not to say WND doesn't have a unique worldview of its own amid the cacophony of those who like to think of themselves as "mainstream." We do. It's no secret. We've explained it a thousand times. We believe in doing good, American-style journalism the old-fashioned way – seeking the truth without fear or favor. We believe the highest calling of a free press in a free society is to serve as a watchdog on government and other powerful institutions. That's what American journalism was intended to do. That's why the Founding Fathers of this great country established for the first time in world history special protections for the free press in the First Amendment of our Constitution – so my colleagues serve as yet another check and balance on government power. That's what we do – and, I think, we do it uniquely well and with the highest standards. Edsall and CJR can continue to pretend that journalists' lockstep, pro-government, anti-freedom agenda isn't making its way into news reports. But it is becoming laughable. How do they explain missing the ACORN exposé and the Van Jones stories? "One of the virtues of liberalism is its empathy and its willingness to see the good in human nature," he explains. Yeah, right. As long as they're not talking about human beings like Sean Hannity, Pat Robertson or the late Jerry Falwell. Last weekend Obama spoke to homosexual activists at the Human Rights Campaign who are working to undermine the foundation of our civilization: marriage between one man and one woman, and whose agenda threatens our freedom to express biblical beliefs against a dangerous lifestyle. Obama said, "I've called on Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act," and "I will end Don't Ask, Don't Tell. That's my commitment to you." Destroy marriage and the military, which would experience a mass exodus – nearly a quarter of our currently serving troops would not re-enlist or would consider terminating their careers, according to a Military Times poll last year. Then, Obama insulted Christians at this event, stating, "There are still" some "who hold fast to outworn arguments and old attitudes." There are quite a lot of old attitudes I still adhere to that some may consider "outworn," things like the law of gravity, fiscal responsibility, freedom of speech and marriage between one man and one woman, that are still not only true, but vital to our nation's well-being. I witnessed the aftermath of Obama's speech and Congress's actions while in the Nashville airport yesterday morning. Blasting throughout the terminal was CNN's "news interview" with a confused cross-dressing male and bisexual woman who were celebrating Obama's push for troubled teens to become even more troubled. My heart broke at the thought of all the misguided teens who will be led astray by legitimizing this disturbing behavior. If the Senate votes today for a Defense Authorization bill that includes the "thought crimes amendment," that opinion might be a "hate crime" by the end of the week. This poor man dressed in woman's clothes needs someone to take him aside and tell him that it's still a bit early for Halloween. Instead, we have a president who has legitimized this disturbed thinking and is "pushing hard to pass" a bill to prevent business owners from adhering to a dress code against "Bruce" coming to work in a skirt or using the women's restroom because he "feels like a woman today." I wonder if they'll also be forced to increase the pay for those who dress like the boss and "feel like a CEO today." Maybe their next bill is to mandate that the rest of us scurry around to accommodate the every whim of those who wear a crown and "feel like a Monarch today." Now that I mention it, I think that's the problem. Those in Washington are playing dress up, too. They "feel like elite leaders" and are disturbed that the rest of us haven't bowed to them and their dangerous agenda. They haven't convinced "the peasants" on issues like marriage and free speech and so, we must be brought into submission or go to jail. That's what's at stake right now with a "hate crimes" vote in the Senate today. If the Defense bill passes with the "hate crimes" amendment, pastors will be punished for their "outworn" and soon to become illegal speech, while pedophiles will have an elevated level of protection. And the assault continues: There's another vote scheduled in the Senate today on socialized medicine, complete with tax-funded baby killing as well as adult and disabled killing by way of rationing and denial of life-saving treatment. Not to mention "Control and Tax" which is next on their list – to control what we do and where we go while taxing us for excessive things like driving to work and heating our homes. How can we fight against all this insanity? There's one way you can fight all of it – and the next government takeover of things like the media and what's left of our free market. It's to tell those "emperors" that they have no power except what we the people give them. We have given them power. What has happened is our fault. And we need to correct our horrendous mistake. The bad news is that November 2010 is a year away. The good news is there is something you can do to remind them now. Go to www.SendCongressaPinkSlip.com right now and with the click of a button you will send, by Federal Express, a personalized pink slip to those who are poised to take our freedoms, our free enterprise and our very lives through socialized medicine. Not a gimmick. Not a stunt. Just a tangible reminder of who these people work for. Tell them to take off their "crowns" and start listening to their real boss – the American People -- or their real pink slip will be issued next November. California Catholic Daily isn't too thrilled with the news: http://www.calcatholic.com/... Neither is Karen England of the Capitol Resource Institute in an e-mail that I received from her:
Yesterday evening Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed SB 54 and SB 572, both authored by Senator Mark Leno, into law. SB 54 requires California to grant all the privileges and rights of marriage to same-sex marriages performed outside of California prior to the passage of Proposition 8 last year. SB 572 requires the governor to declare every May 22 Harvey Milk Day in California.

Looks like Wacko Jacko has passed on the torch to none other than the Hopenchange administration, to hear World Net Daily's founder, Joseph Farah, tell it: Posted: October 06, 2009
I hope all you folks who voted for "change" have learned your lesson. I, too, was happy to see George W. Bush go. I was also happy we didn't get another Clinton in the White House. And, it's no secret I didn't like John McCain. But this guy, Barack Obama, is giving us all more than we bargained for in the way of craziness, chaos, radicalism, extremism and immorality on a scale that would possibly make even Bill Clinton blush. Well, maybe not that much. We've got a homosexual activist by the name of Kevin Jennings as czar of "safe schools." Talk about the fox guarding the chicken coop! This guy is a disciple of Harry Hay, founder of Radical Faeries and a longtime advocate for the North American Man-Boy Love Association. Do you feel like your child is safe with him in charge of school safety? Then there's science czar John Holdren who wrote in a college textbook that "illegitimate children" born to unwed mothers should be seized by the government and put up for adoption if the mother refuses to have an abortion. He also argued the Constitution supports "compulsory" abortion. Then there's Cass Sunstein, the regulatory czar, who explains that embryos are "just a handful of cells" and that an adult dog is more rational than a human baby. Now come the revelations about his nominee to be commissioner of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission – Chai Feldblum. Another outspoken homosexual-rights activist – it seems almost a prerequisite in the Obama administration – she is a signatory to an online petition entitled "Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision For All Our Families and Relationships." Among the stated "partnerships" the petition seeks to protect is "households in which there is more than one conjugal partner." She also proclaimed gay sex as "morally good" – not just neutral, mind you, but something God apparently smiles upon. I wonder what kind of database Obama uses to locate people like this? Is it Monster.com? That would be appropriate. Or is it FreaksUnlimited.com? Maybe Obamanations.com? No, it's got to be Perverts.gov. I'm telling you, the entire federal government is going to have to be fumigated some day when these deviants and degenerates are finally sent packing. It's almost enough to make you nostalgic for the good old days of George W. – almost, I said. Actually, I believe what is happening in this Obama administration is a very veiled blessing in disguise for the nation. Every once in a while Americans need to be reminded just how dark the dark side really is. And we are getting that reminder today. It's been a wake-up call for millions – and we needed it. Now if only there were an organized party of opposition to these guys that could help us all rid them from government. Unfortunately, you know and I know there isn't. All we have is the Republican Party. And it seems almost paralyzed by what is unfolding before our eyes. It seems even unable to get behind the parade of rising opposition to the policies and personnel of the Obama administration and the radical initiatives of his friends in Congress. But I remain optimistic. No sane person could watch this spectacle in Washington unfold and believe it represents anything less than the total unraveling of the fabric of American decency and morality. The day of reckoning is coming. And, when it does, people like the aforementioned will be unwelcome just about anywhere except in the parallel universe known as academia. ... somebody needs to give a consolation award to the crestfallen scientists who really, really thought we came from apes so that they could show that the right-wingers literally are knuckle-dragging Neanderthals.
