Now it can be told: people are concerned about global warming not because it's a serious threat, but all due to Satan's Plan to change the subject using the Weather Channel as his minion: This little six-minute presentation (sound not required, although it's nice sound) certainly gives you a bit to think about--and shows why you'll have a lot *MORE* to think about tomorrow. (Although exponential growth *NEVER* holds up...we hope.) http://www.scottmcleod.org/... What *WILL* we do when computers can play our "game" better than we can? When the Chinese speak English better than we do? Here's an interesting concept--a national training center (akin to military academies) for those in public service: http://www.uspublicservicea... The mission of the United States Public Service Academy is to build a corps of civilian leaders who have the moral character, academic training, and leadership experience necessary to serve the American people honorably and effectively, and who are committed to devoting their lives to public service. The only thing I can see wrong with the proposal is that one possible location is, well, Texas. (The link I posted says DC, but the referral to the proposal came from a Texas group pushing it. Imagine a trained group of civilians available to go into war-torn places like Iraq, New Orleans, or, well, Texas alongside the guys with guns, but with the skills to make things better.
