He wants access to Camp David--the ultimate swinging bachelor's pad.

JulieAnnie billed the city for his out-of-town extramarital affairs:

(If Kerik slips the noose and becomes his DHS director, will the "expense" each other out of professional courtesy?

An upcoming meeting of theological scholars will expand the pantheon of Gods being discussed to include following-up the strands of His Noodly Appendages:

(AP) -- When some of the world's leading religious scholars gather in San Diego this weekend, pasta will be on the intellectual menu. They'll be talking about a satirical pseudo-deity called the Flying Spaghetti Monster, whose growing pop culture fame gets laughs but also raises serious questions about the essence of religion.

In short, is an anti-religion like Flying Spaghetti Monsterism actually a religion?

rAmen.

With all the conservative Democrats running for office these days and the right-wing slant of the media in general, are you dispairing of ever hearing a progressive voice again?  There's an event this weekend in Kernville that's just Left for you.

The second annual Freedom Festival runs from noon to five pm Saturday at the park in Kernville with music and progressive speakers headlined by Air America radio personality Cenk Uyger.  Other speakers will include a representative of Code Pink, a speaker from the Arlington West project and musician Lizzie West.

There is no charge for the program but donations are encouraged.

It bears noting that the "self-destruction" of JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, has resulted in her snagging six* of the top 25 best-selling books of all time.  This compares somewhat favorably with an artist like, say, Harper Lee, barely in the top 40.

Efforts to ban Harry Potter only spur sales.  Abstinence-only education promotes sex.  Looks like the Right-Wingnuts can be reliably counted on to provide the opposite of what they want, time and time again.

If we could just get them to attempt to ban the Bill of Rights--oh, wait, they're already working on that one, aren't they?

While folks worry about the betrayal of innocence, they might wonder how much longer parents should be allowed to inculcate hate for any subgroup of society in the name of either religion or patriotism--be it gays, Muslims, or "illegal aliens," before society rightly cries "enough hate!"

The Good Samaritan was an illegal alien, and probably gay to boot.

*(Savvy readers will ask about the seventh HP tome:  #48 and moving higher every week...)
