Investments in developable land leave builders with no funds to erect houses.

No, not here.

China.

CERN is a major element in Brown's "Angels and Demons," not "The DaVinci Code."

.

Since the gentleman who made the error  would hate to be corrected by a non-genuflector.

Y'know, there are times when *EVERYTHING* in the world seems connected to everything else.

Like the nation's finance crisis and the private recreational activities of a certain New York governor.

Anyway, here's an explanation of how the Bush Administration not only failed to stop the subprime crisis at its beginning, they actually stood in the way of folks who were trying to prevent disaster.

Interesting article by a guy who's in a position to know.  Wonder what's going to happen to him?  I mean, when Joe Wilson blew the whistle on Bush's phony Niger claims, they went after his wife.  Maybe they can come up with something a bit more personal this time to discredit the author.

(Yeah, it's two blogs in one day.  Special circumstances...)

Please, Mr. Aronberg, run for national office.  I promise you've got my contribution even if not my vote.  So long as that idiot Siplin isn't your running mate.

Buffoo posted a link to a "Christian" board, applauding the relgious tolerance shown in disciplining a cable-network commentator who (apparently drunkenly) launched an epithet-laden tirade.

Apparently he thinks *THIS* comment on that board represents "religious tolerance."

So,"for fear of the Jews," AFA and other Christian groups turn tail and praise the radical synagogue that runs ESPN/ABC.America needs real Christian leaders!

Trying to hide the anti-Semitism, Buffoo?  Ashamed?  You *SHOULD* be.

I have to go out on errands, but I'll return later tonight.  Thought folks should get a good look at what you're defending by repeatedly deleting on-topic comments.

Tell us about the Jehovah's Witnesses and the homosexuals.

Scientists building a brain out of microchips.

http://www.seedmagazine.com...

It didn't take long before the model reacted. After only a few electrical jolts, the artificial neural circuit began to act just like a real neural circuit. Clusters of connected neurons began to fire in close synchrony: the cells were wiring themselves together. Different cell types obeyed their genetic instructions. The scientists could see the cellular looms flash and then fade as the cells wove themselves into meaningful patterns. Dendrites reached out to each other, like branches looking for light. "This all happened on its own," Markram says. "It was entirely spontaneous." For the Blue Brain team, it was a thrilling breakthrough. After years of hard work, they were finally able to watch their make-believe brain develop, synapse by synapse. The microchips were turning themselves into a mind.

...

"If you're interested in computing," Schürmann says, "then I don't see how you can't be interested in the brain. We have so much to learn from natural selection. It's really the ultimate engineer."

This poster says because all hell's about to break loose in Shrub's garden:

The Iraqi invasion was all about the oil.

Lebanon's all about the water.
