Residential robbery
For Immediate Release Friday, September 28, 2007
Residential Robbery On 9/28/07, at about 6:15 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a residence in the 1600 block of Antonia Way. The victim, an 85 year old male, reported receiving a knock at his door. When he opened the door he observed the suspect who said that she was a neighbor and her house was on fire and she needed to use his phone to call the fire department. The victim allowed the suspect to enter. She picked up his phone, looked around briefly, then brandished a knife and demanded money from the victim. The victim gave the suspect some money and then she ordered him into the bathroom where she closed the door and fled. The victim was not inured. A composite sketch of the suspect has been compiled and is attached to this news release. The suspect is described as a: black female, 40’s, 5’ 4”, average build, black shoulder length hair, dark pants, and white t-shirt. The victim said he believes the same subject came to his home on 9/27/07 asking for money. He gave her a small amount of money and she left. Anyone with information is asked to call Bakersfield Police at 661-327-7111 or Detective Patrick Hayes at 661-326-3541. Another instance where a properly trained individual with a firearm could have turned the victim into a victor. This is another example why we need a strong Second Amendment to protect our right to keep and bear arms. posted by
