Wonder how many are illegals?

My guess is none. Illegals can't drive vehicles with 4 wheels worth a damn, let alone motorcycles.

OMG

Gang members in Lake Isabella......This must be some type of mistake......

Criminy...A gang in LI is almost too funny for words.  Who will they fight with?  The Kernville Road Dogs?  Or maybe they'll wait for Whiskey Flat Days when a gazillian bikers invade the valley and they can start a turf war.

Every time a gang member is released form prison it increases the gang numbers in your neighborhood..or city.  Turn 'em all loose and let them kill each other off....just keep your head down.

edited.  By the way..I'm sure that's great news for the Kern Valley Chamber of Commerce since tourism is all they have up there and biker gangs will scare the tourists off.

Rumor has it they are associates of the Hells Angels.

Vagos are a bunch of dried up old (even those that don't appear all that old chronologically above) wannabe OMG's

The HA's wouldn't have them, even the Mongols have eschewed their "company"

Low level crimes for low level trailer trash

Glad none of the SO guys got hurt

(they could have bit their *****)

Vagos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang

Depending upon where you live in the U.S., many people have heard of the big major outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMG): Hells’ Angels, Bandidos, Outlaws, and Pagans. In S. Ca the predominant OMG’s are the Hells’ Angels and the Mongols. I’ve previously blogged on the Mongols. Read it here. I wrote on the HA here.

Lesser known are the Vagos, a particularly ratty group of individuals periodically at odds or in cahoots with the HA’s and Mongols. The Vagos are found in CA, Oregon, Colorado and Hawaii. Like the rest of their OMG brethren, the Vagos members engage in all manner of crimes.

The ATF just concluded a 2 or 3 year investigation which culminated in a massive roundup with search warrants and arrests. Read about it here. (from the Simi Valley Sophist)

All the above are quite excellent reasons to be an "outrider".That and no prison time.

Nancy, motorcycle groups--not necessarily "gangs"--have been visiting the KRV for three decades that *I* know of.  One group was at Lake Ming last year, too.

RF..I know that.  My post was tongue in cheek.  Mark (motopoet) rides with the HOGS.  My daughter lived in KRV for almost 10 years.

Have you ever been to Whiskey Flat days?  It's a lot of fun.

Many, many years ago.  I was undercover (even wore a beard.)  Lived there at the time, about 50 yards from Circle Park.

RF... Year before last my grandson and bride and I went up on WFD and it snowed on us.  I thought I was going to freeze to death.  Another time many years ago (maybe you were there then in 1986) my daughter and I went and it poured buckets of rain on us.  Couldn't even stay at the rodeo.  It's a risky time of year to be having an outdoor event and I often wonder if the "saloon girls" get pewmonya from the exposure.  At one time Daughter lived in a little red house behind a little motel across the river bridge and later opened an antique/junque store right on the boulevard.  She just moved away from there about 6 months ago and said she couldn't take it anymore..the tweakers had taken over.

Note the ethnic makeup. Mostly Anglo, overweight, older hillbillies. No leathers, not even mc boots. These guys are BAD!

(just ask 'em)

RF could have infiltrated this bunch. (You know, when he was undercover brother)

All of this clap trap about motorcycle clubs being called gangs is just garbage.

Not sure how this sleeping bear of a blog got awoken, but since it did:

Wiki Says: The Vagos Motorcycle Club, also known as the Green Nation, is a one-percenter motorcycle gang that was formed in San Bernardino, California during the 1960's. The club's insignia is Loki, the Norse god of mischief, riding a motorcycle and members commonly wear green. The Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have named the Vagos as an Outlaw Motorcycle Club, claiming that they are involved in criminal activities such as producing, transporting and distributing methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as assault, extortion, insurance fraud, money laundering, murder, vehicle theft, witness intimidation and weapons violations. The Vagos have approximately 300 members among 24 chapters located in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and three chapters located in Mexico.

I saw a pretty large group of them last week, heading north on 99 from olive drive, overnight bags packed ... they all looked old and ratty, maybe having trouble recruiting young bucks? My hubby knows alot more about them, than i do ~ some interesting tidbits.

we are bikers, and my hubby watches sons of anarchy ~ very interesting 'TV" made view into the biker "gang-life" ... once or twice he has been approached to join the red and white, we even have their beanie cap from the recruiters. etc - i entertained it (the idea) once,  ONCE - until he explained how it REALLY works once on the INSIDE. no thanks.
