Details:

This morning, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a large fight in the 900 blk of Royal way, in East Bakersfield. While arriving on scene, first responding deputies advised that a vehicle was leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

An investigator with the Gang Suppression Unit, that was also enroute to the fight, saw the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The driver, Mario Martinez Gonzalez, Jr., 25, led deputies in a pursuit that lasted approximately five (5) minutes. Martinez finally yeilded to pursuing deputies in the 4200 blk of Fillmore St.

Martinez was taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into the Central Receiving Facility for Felony Evading.
