Very sad situation, but I think most people choose to donate to people and concerns in their own community, not to someone in another state. And in this age of identity theft, mailing a check to an address someone posts on a blog site is not very smart.

I don't see the account information in either of the articles.  While the bank is legit, I think people would feel better (and be more willing to help) if a reputable newspaper wrote about the help fund.  Just a thought...

And, yes...it's a horrible story.

This just totally shocks the daylights out of me.  I think our civilization has sunk to an all-time low, when they resort to cutting out babies and kill the mother.  Even animals would not do this.  Maybe we should look at animals for acceptable behavior.  I just don't know what to else to say as I am in a state of shock.  

Nothing much shock me anymore.  I've heard this story before...not often, but it has happened.  There have always been sick or evil people and always will be.

Yah, its true about sending checks to somewhere you don't know. Completely understand.  I can't find the article about the lawyer opening up the account for the family.  I believe on AmericanWest bank's website there is an account number.  Sorry about that :(
