Elemental Disruption

"Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats." Diane Arbus

My life seems to operate sideways~ backwards almost~ and I have come to see thats right for me. A rain of snakes, disruption that cause's growth ,the world split in two.Everyone has there own path, mine has been one of thought, mostly of things folks today seem to disregard. Truth, personal integrity,politeness,...not all eschew these things. For me its been the easiest way to be~ any other way leads me to more trouble..and a sense of humor, above all about myself. Laughter keeps a person sane, and I enjoy seeing the coyote in myself~ the eternal trickster

Republican Debate

The Republicans~sans the "front runners"~ debated last night at Morgan State University. The moderator was Tavis Smiley,a panel consisting of Ray Suarez,Cynthia Tucker and Juan Williams posed questions.

Now admittedly,I know very little about these men Brownback,Huckabee,Hunter,Keyes,Paul and Tancredo. I now know a bit more. They may not be my Republicans friends first choices, but they did show up~and the four top had their excuse of scheduling conflicts. Ron Paul was the crowd favorite, but I was impressed with Huckabee and Tancredo. I know nothing about either man~so please fill me in. To this early dismiss a "second tier" candidate~in either party~ is a disservice to the American people.Like a woman or a man dating ,one should keep ones options open, till "the one" stands out. Good hunting my fellow Americans.

Juan Williams reports for National Public Radio. His personal views are very liberal. But still, I like his reports because he's a very bright guy and doesn't miss much. His reports are always good. I just don't agree with a lot of his interpretation of the information that he reports on.

Listen to NPR and listen for his reports. He's pretty good.

The others, I don't know.

I thought that it was screwed up that several of the candidates didn't show up because they had fund raising events that conflicted. What are we doing, Campaigning for President or Fund raising?

I agree tonyh~ the candidates should have shown up~ I'm almost positive that Baltimore has some rich Republicans that could be" mined" for cash before or after the debate. Brownback is a Senator, Paul,Tancredo, and Hunter are in Congress. Huckabee was a Governor.Keyes was a Congressperson(?) and former Ambassador.

By the way Juan Williams is also on Fox News and is their political analyst.

His personal views are very liberal

Sure they are.

That's why he continues to defend Bill O'Reilly, applauded the Supreme Court overturning parts of Brown vs. Board of Education, criticizes Black leaders and Bush hand-picked him to be interviewed by, right?

That's cool. I'll have to check it out. Like I said, he doesn't miss much. I just can't agree with his interpretation most of the time.

Juan Williams IS very liberal.

He is defending BO because, on this one, BO is right

Juan Williams has character

But he IS a liberal

I like him though. I guess that means that some on here will knee-jerk have to hate him for that

Herding this gently back to the topic~no one but me~a supposed liberal?~ watched the debate of the Republicans last night? Forget the questioners folks and find out about the candidates!

I really like Mike Huckabee

Repubs made a BIG mistake IMO for not showing (Rudy, Fred, Mitt)

I like Huckabee myself~he seemed smart, not knee jerk reaction..he was funny too..Brownback is just not my styleor Keyes,no surprise there! But Huckabee and Tancredo made sense to me on more than one question.Off to Goggle them and find out more.. it won no points for the "fab four" not to show up.

I forgot the 4th "biggy" who didn't show. Not like him BTW.

Republicans keep going like this and HRC will be POTUS in 08 no doubt

Sad

http://www.teamtancredo.com...  well there' s always something about a caniadate that rubs me wrong, but still not so bad.

http://www.mikehuckabee.com... I can't seem to find a official site for Huckabee, there is this http://profile.myspace.com/... which has a link to his official site. Everybody does have a my space I guess,so maybe I'll keep mine up even though the Stephen Coal Bear was the only reason I had one..

What exactly makes Guiliani qualified to be POTUS, besides the constitutional requirements? The guy was a mayor. He hasn't even run a state before and he's considered their best candidate? As much danger as he put the Twin Towers cleanup crews in, what kind of dangerous (purely political) decisions would he make for the whole country to obey...or else.

Besides that, he uses 9-11 as an excuse for everything, including the lame stunt of having his trophy wife call during a speech. He's totally cheezy. I'm surprised more people don't see it.

Please do not call names on my blog~ it's an insult to me. Thank You.

Are you talking about liberal, coherent, or cheesy?
posted by sagefever on Sep 28, 2007 at 04:20 PM
drling~ Thanks for the help. Not. Liberal is not a "name", Guiliani can handle his own self~I hope as he is running for President. As it is not apparent to you :that would be coherent.

Oh.  So it's open season on presidential candidates?  tsk, tsk.

driling~The terms of service on this blog make it clear~we are not to call each other names.Your little word games may help you feel funny, but for me not so much. And not for those who allow us this forum to exchange ideas. I think calling anyone names is out of order in public~you do not. I can not control any of you but I can and will ask that names not be exchanged between blogers,OK? Funny Google, both of you by the way :-)

"I think calling anyone names is out of order in public~you do not."

You do not know what I think.  To say that is just as insulting as name calling, and to some, nothing more than "little word games".  I can appreciate someone attempting to help us "keep it civil", but it sometimes appears to be overlooked more often in relation to swipes from the left. Consistency is key to credibility in this respect.

I agree~but you have called names before and after our conversation the first time in regards to this issue. TSM is what you would call liberal~he is the one I referred to~how is that "more "Left" to ask him not to call Chico a name?  the TOS dictate this not me:public figures are just that.Posters are not.

Dril, if you want to compare "hits" you need some quotes in there.  Half of those were Hillary Duff.

Frankly, I like the idea of Giuliani winning the nomination.  It'll show that we're no longer trying to push government into social issues.

Rudy vs Hillary?  David Letterman put it in perspective with this:

"You all excited about the 2008 presidential election? There's some interesting potential matchups. For example, Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani. ... On the one hand, you have a pushy New Yorker with a history marital problems. Or, you have a pushy New Yorker with a history marital problems." --David Letterman
