Elemental Disruption

"Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats." Diane Arbus

My life seems to operate sideways~ backwards almost~ and I have come to see thats right for me. A rain of snakes, disruption that cause's growth ,the world split in two.Everyone has there own path, mine has been one of thought, mostly of things folks today seem to disregard. Truth, personal integrity,politeness,...not all eschew these things. For me its been the easiest way to be~ any other way leads me to more trouble..and a sense of humor, above all about myself. Laughter keeps a person sane, and I enjoy seeing the coyote in myself~ the eternal trickster

CCR~ some Monday morning music and rain...

Have You ever seen the Rain?

Someone told me long ago theres a calm before the storm,
I know; its been comin for some time.
When its over, so they say, itll rain a sunny day,
I know; shinin down like water.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before, sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; been that way for all my time.
til forever, on it goes through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; it cant stop, I wonder.

Who'll Stop the Rain

Long as I remember
The rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pourin'
Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages,
Tried to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder,
Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia,
Seekin' shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable,
I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals,
Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin',
How we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together,
Tryin' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin',
Fallin' on my ears.
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.

Have a wonderful Monday~ and be careful out there! Slippery roads~ it's real live weather out there!

Those are beautiful lyrics.  Plaintive but not hopeless.  Leastways, that's the way I sees it.

Audrey loved the video.  I don't remember Colter ever looking like that. I can imagine myself sitting in a smoky bar, drinking bourbon and coke and smoking a marlboro.  It's been a long time since I set in a bar listening to country music and smoking, since I gave them up over 20 years ago.(marlboro's not the drink, but my drink of choice has become red wine)  Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.

And Sage, I'm thinking that my co-workers wish you wouldn't put the lyrics up since I forget I can't carry a tune in a bucket and felt compelled to sing along with CCR.  Love those guys.  Memories...

Here's one for ya... "Rain"... (notice the front teeth that are chipped-out on Paul... yes, a result of the infamous "Paul is dead" car wreck)
