This presidential election is so implausible as to defy making rational sense of it, but does remind me of studies having to do with “Zombie parasites of the brain.” Apart from such scientific studies, seemingly from out of nowhere Barack Hussein Obama appears from a shadowy, dubious and questionable background and those investigators not turned into Hussein Zombies are labeled “racist” for questioning his blatant lack of credentials and qualifications for the presidency, so utterly lacking in these as to be ridiculous if it were anyone but a Negro that university spawned political correctness has made sacrosanct and untouchable.

Even more implausible is his being treated like a rock star by the MSM and touted a “great speaker” despite his obviously not being anything approaching such unwarranted praise, even seeming dim-witted, haltingly searching for words with insulting verbal pauses of “uh, uh,” when he speaks. To add to the irrationality of all this is his having said absolutely nothing of substance while the MSM touts his agenda of “change” never addressing any specifics of what he means by this glittering generality apart from a Marxist redistribution of wealth!

But what is known about Hussein’s associations with those like Ayers, Wright, and ACORN being the black equivalent of a white supremacist with an Aryan Brotherhood connection would disqualify any Caucasian contender. In my opinion only Satan could so successfully pull this off to advance his choice of Hussein. Only the Evil One has the power using the tools at his disposal like the universities, MSM and Hollywood to accomplish something so sinister that seems like a bad work of fiction. But I remind myself Satan owns those in power able to hide the truth about so many things like JFK and 9/11, and he is able to advance someone like Hussein to serve his purpose having laid the groundwork already through the universities and the administration of Caesar Bush.

To add to this being such a zany and implausible election where are the real issues being addressed, the things that are tearing America apart like our open borders and the millions of illegal aliens and drugs invading our nation at taxpayer expense? What about English as our national language, holding those accountable for the mortgage meltdown and banker bailouts, and this betrayal of “Press one for English”? Other than Marxist socialism it doesn’t seem either candidate has any answers to America’s meltdown, but taking Governor Palin at her word the election is in God’s hands I turn to the Bible in an attempt to make any sense of what is going on.

From the outset I considered Governor Sarah Palin a glimmer of hope on the political scene. But from the Biblical perspective she is up against the subservient position of women in the Bible by God’s decree beginning with Eve. Removed from anything Biblical, removed from anything of the supernatural and metaphysical it seems to me McCain made a wise choice in Governor Palin. However, from a Biblical perspective while some condemn her for fundamentalist Bible beliefs how did she manage to pursue a course in her life that led to political eminence of leadership including having authority over men counter to such beliefs? In its own way this is as much a mystery as that of Hussein.

In an America where the value of women is gauged primarily by their youth and sexual attractiveness Governor Palin offers quite a Biblical conundrum for believers. It is the weakest part of “The Da Vinci Code” to entertain the notion Jesus would ever intend a woman to lead the church, though as fiction it had to make sense. However, here we are in reality having a woman positioned to lead America should events fall out in a certain way becoming a truth stranger than fiction.

The utter implausibility of this election cycle including McCain/Palin emphasizes what most writers know, that the difference between fiction and non-fiction is that fiction has to make sense. This is somewhat of an oversimplification of what is a very complex idea, but as a general rule it has broad applications of validity based on the fact that much of the reality of life makes little sense and the novelist must tweak the many nonsensical realities of life, “A tale told by an idiot,” in order to produce a fiction that makes sense causing the writer to resort to many a literary device and taking license in order to make the thread of the tale hold throughout.

Just reflecting on my own life much of it seems a tale told by an idiot, and is best done by moonglow or candlelight to sort things out. At that some questions that come to me in soft light have some very hard edges difficult to smooth by reason alone in the bright light of day, one such being the love of God.

God; do you love me? Have you ever taken the time to ask yourself with the utmost seriousness and contemplation whether God loves you? Just ask him straight out: God; do you love me? Apart from the question generally never being asked of God by most people, there are a host of reasons why many people would fear to ask even if it occurred to them to do so, many fearful of what they believe the answer would be because of a litany of sins.

Of equal importance is the question of whether a person loves God? The only answer I have to the question is in the love I have for others. As I commune with loved ones gone on before me I rely on their love for me and mine for them to cover a multitude of sins, this is my only hope of salvation since I believe this is how God will judge me in the hereafter. But I speak of unconditional love, the kind of love that sacrifices with no sense of sacrifice. In this I have much in common with the beliefs of many people regardless of their system of beliefs, whether orthodox or unorthodox, and I believe this is the essence of the teachings of Jesus and Paul’s marvelous summation of love in I Corinthians chapter thirteen, that of faith, hope, and love, the greatest of these being love.

It is the unconditional love we share for one another that transcends the bounds of my earthly existence and holds me in close communion with those I love gone on before me. Without this love as Paul affirms, though I need no such affirmation knowing in my soul the truth of this, I am nothing, I have nothing. And Paul together with the other writers of the New Testament knew that without this love there can be no faith or hope, certainly no faith or hope of salvation and the only thing that makes any sense of a life that would otherwise in many instances be only a tale told by an idiot.

But to love unconditionally is not without its discipline, and even as the loving parent disciplines their child so God disciplines us. This never comes to mind but what I turn to the story in Genesis and God’s discipline of Adam and Eve, and especially the many questions arising from trying to make sense of why the curse should fall so heavily on Eve? God condemned Adam for listening to Eve, and condemned Eve for being beguiled by the serpent into disobedience. But Adam would seem to be attempting to justify himself by blaming both God and Eve for his own disobedience. However, Paul is quite adamant in I Timothy chapter two concerning the judgment of God and the resulting role of women in submitting to this.

There is no other collection of writings comparable to the Bible, and it is for this reason that despite the large body of literature surrounding the events described in the opening chapters of Genesis I continue to credit it as my primary resource; and as such the role of the serpent in The Fall as described is of great importance. The New Testament would lead us to believe the serpent was Satan, and it was his hatred of the Adam reflected in the book of Job and elsewhere that led to his part in The Fall. If God’s curse of Satan for the part he played resulted in the serpent being representative of the Evil One then the natural abhorrence most people have for snakes notwithstanding the fascination some have for the creatures is easily understandable and they serve a figurative purpose.

But in the council of gods as I take it to mean by the phrasing “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” it seems quite possible to me that there must have been allowance for the possibility of The Fall to occur. There are interpretations of two seeming accounts of the creation of Adam and Eve with several resulting mythologies, and early Hebrew scholars together with later Christian scholars have made many attempts to reconcile these. Nevertheless the serpent’s choice to approach Eve rather than Adam is a mystery. But having succumbed to the serpent’s wiles in disobedience to God the woman would become the weaker vessel, made to endure the primacy of men and suffering childbirth, needing the strength of a man to protect and provide for her despite the anecdotal incidents to the contrary. It remains a man’s world despite the several efforts of women to counter this; all of which brings me back to the mystery of the relationship between the serpent and Eve, a mystery I admit causes me no little trepidation to intrude myself into.

A part of the curse of God upon Eve was pronouncing as the Hebrew allows “You are going to be humbled (even degraded) as to need a man!” And historically this has proven to be so, even though in many cases a woman has needed a man just to protect her from other men. But this has had the result of women harboring resentment toward men, an unhappy situation for both men and women all of which makes no small contribution to life seeming a tale told by an idiot.

There are tantalizing parts of the Bible together with mythologies that lead back in time to something between Eve and the serpent that I believe would explain many of the mysteries of ancient civilizations, their monuments and artifacts. However, sex has been a curse falling largely upon women, not the least part of this curse being once a woman has lost her youth she no longer has any chance of attracting the needed man in her life whereas men continue to have value in most cultures into much older age. That this seems to be such an unfair result of God’s judgment the only possible explanation would have to come from knowing the facts of the relationship between Eve and the serpent in the Garden. Mythologies abound, but the Bible does not offer much in the way of explanation and we are left with trying to make sense of why God’s judgment fell so heavily upon Eve, why God’s decree became that of men having the rule while women suffer disproportionately both physically and culturally from men.

I consider the dinosaurs to be a satanic creation, something God had to wipe out to make earth hospitable to Adam and Eve. I believe the earth at the time of Adam and Eve to be a single land mass surrounded by ocean and the Deluge created the different continents. But the history of evil Satan represents had to have begun long before the special creation of Adam and Eve made in the image of God, a special creation Satan hated and attempted to destroy and from this the many different mythologies attempting to explain Good vs. Evil emanated.

For those such as myself who take the Bible to be literally true in many instances, who believe there are actual facts behind the stories of Genesis and Creation there remains the enigma of Governor Sarah Palin at this point in American history. It is of great interest to me to see how this election plays out, and just how much of it may have to do with my own ideas of Biblical prophecy and the role of women in God’s scheme of things. As things stand, the choices in this election would seem to be between a tale told by an idiot or something that only makes sense within the difference between fiction and non-fiction.

What normal person does not enjoy ghost stories? Whether a singularity is expected due to the Large Hadron Collider, UFOs, Artificial Intelligence, the Apocalypse, or the Rapture there is enough in science, SciFi, and the metaphysical to entertain most people’s fancy and imagination. As a child I was given to writing stories, but it wasn’t until I was in high school that I actually took this seriously. One of the occasions for doing so was my writing the following ghost story for our English class, and each year to celebrate Halloween I continue to share it with others.

When I was a boy living on the mining claim here in the Sequoia National Forest long before there was a “Lake Isabella” and the town of Isabella for which the lake, a manmade reservoir, would be named had a total of 36 souls in residence, once the warm weather arrived I would move my bed out of the cabin and sleep all summer long under the branches of a marvelously scented old pine. It was sheer magic to be lulled to sleep by a balmy summer breeze soughing through the needles of the old, stately tree, making the kind of music only angels or a pine tree can make. We had no neighbors within a mile and virtually no one locked doors or windows in that time long ago, and reflecting on that simple life of simple pleasures long gone I recall a story about a husband and wife living in a remote area of Walker Basin not far from Isabella and near the historic town of Havilah.

There were some proud moments for me while attending the high school in the old town of Kernville before the lake went in, like my beating Bakersfield running the 880, when our school band would perform for local audiences and the principal’s son Billy and I would play for dances at the South Fork Community Center, the times when my music teacher Mr. Swadburg on piano and I with clarinet would play classical music for audiences around Kern County.

But the story I wrote for our English class about the couple living in Walker Basin was a proud moment that stands out vividly because the teacher thought it so good she chose to read it for the entire class. Some of the old timers who attended school with me may very well recall the story. I especially glowed when Myrtez, one of the loveliest girls in school, exclaimed after the teacher finished reading it, “That was really good!” When a boy has done something that impresses a beautiful girl he isn’t very likely to forget such a thing notwithstanding the praise of a teacher; so, here is the story:

The incident occurred during the summer of 1951 when the woman’s husband had to make an extended trip away from their home in the wilderness. This necessitated leaving his wife alone; but the circumstances were such that she could not accompany him.

In those days seldom was any thought given to securing doors or windows, and those wise to country living knew how to prevent unwanted visits from local bears, lions, and raccoons disturbing people and their dwellings; common sense matters of prevention like never leaving food scraps about that would bait visits by wild animals.

Nevertheless, with her husband gone and admitting some uneasiness about being alone, the woman did take the precaution before going to bed of tightly locking the doors and windows of their cabin that first night of his absence. Then, confident all was secure she blew out the kerosene lamp on the nightstand, slipped into bed, and despite being all alone in the total darkness of the wilderness in no time was fast asleep.

At first, she did not know what it was that had aroused her from her slumber. It had been a noise of some kind, but she didn’t know what kind of noise? Even in the darkness of the forest night there were natural sounds to which you become accustomed; like the squeak of a mouse caught by an owl, the bark of a fox, natural forest and country sounds like those of a wilderness stream that somehow you become so accustomed they do not disturb your rest at night.

But this was no naturally occurring nocturnal night sound that had awakened her; of this she seemed certain in some unknown somnolent fashion of the mind. She lay there in the dark; beginning to wonder if it had been only a dream after all that had disturbed her rest, when all of a sudden she heard the sound! This time she was not asleep; she was wide-awake and immediately knew what the sound was! It was the sound of a guitar string being struck of the instrument her husband kept in the other room of the cabin next to the fireplace!

Nearly petrified knowing she was completely alone, the doors and windows of the cabin locked tightly, she lay there transfixed with fright not knowing what to do! A few extremely tense moments passed; then the unmistakable sound of a guitar string being struck once more rang out in the blackness of the small cabin!

A loaded shotgun was kept handy leaning against the wall next to the bed, and the woman despite her abject fear accepting that she must do something reached with trembling hand for the gun. She no sooner had hold of it than out of the darkness a string of the guitar was struck again! Loudly!

Easing her now shivering, quaking legs from under the covers of the bed as quietly as possible, she very slowly and deliberately sat upright; and placing the shotgun between her trembling knees she reached over to the nightstand in the darkness, then with shaking fingers managed to lift the chimney from the lamp, and though fearful of doing anything, fearful of making any sound struck a match, lighted the wick and replaced the chimney. No sooner had she done so than the guitar in the other room twanged loudly once more!

Summoning up more courage than she ever thought she possessed the woman arose from the bed, and pointing the shotgun toward the darkness where the guitar was located overcoming with great effort her fear-dried and constricted throat and mouth managed to articulate a shouted, more nearly screamed “Who’s there! I have a gun and I’ll shoot!”

The sudden sound of her own voice ringing out in the small cabin, her shouted warning nearly unhinged her! But there was no response to her shouted threat from out of the now dread blackness of the other room of the cabin. Then, as she stood there pointing the shotgun toward that fearful dark of the other room, a plucked string on the guitar rang out again!

Trembling all the while, fearing her legs would buckle and collapse under her the woman held the shotgun in her right hand finger on the trigger, and with her left she lifted the lamp from the nightstand; then with halting step though nearly frozen with fear advanced toward that dread dark room and guitar.

Suddenly, there in the reflected light from the lamp she could see it! There was the guitar, now seeming to her more an evil haunting specter than a musical instrument, leaning against the wall next to the fireplace. But there was no one, no “thing” to be seen in the room! As she stood there nearly paralyzed by fear looking directly at the instrument a string of the guitar was struck forcefully as though by an invisible hand!

Nearly dropping both shotgun and lamp, the woman jerked hard against the jamb of the bedroom door and looked at the spectral instrument in horror! Finally, once more drawing from some hitherto unknown depth of courage she managed to take a faltering step forward. With lamp held high in one hand and ready with the other to fire the shotgun pointed toward the guitar, her frantic mind was racing with what action she might be called upon to take, from what invisible force or creature she might have to defend herself?

When only about five feet away from the guitar she watched transfixed in fascinated horror as right in front of her a grotesque yellow-winged “something!” some “creature!” with hideous face, multiple clawed limbs and menacing, gnashing mandibles suddenly leaped at her with lightning speed from the dark bowels of the instrument and violently struck one of the strings! It was a large grasshopper.

True story.

Sam

This election cycle has gone so beyond fantastic to the weird and spooky more suitable to Halloween I could almost wish our choice was Joe the Plumber vs. Paris Hilton. Being a normal man, and as such being stupid about beautiful women, I candidly admit I’d be having a struggle with such a choice. But folks, this is the real thing and We the People have nothing but a rough road ahead no matter who wins; so if you find yourself avoiding black cats and buying a rabbit’s foot for luck the first time in your life it is quite understandable.

However, Messiah Hussein’s Gospel of Marx and the “Redistribution of wealth” form of worship that so infuriated his Apostle Biden when caught out on it comes complete with the Human Weed Prayer: “Give us this day, our daily bread- Or Else!” With the enormous increase of human weeds, the unproductive mouths that are overwhelming America demanding to be fed by the productive this probably helps to explain the surge in people buying guns here of late. That Messiah Hussein is even above the sensible requirement that he prove his U.S. citizenship to everyone’s satisfaction is a declaration of his messianic credentials, something only “unbelievers” would dare question.

Unfortunately, we can’t go back in time and undo the seed of slavery sown to our destruction by the Founding Fathers, and following Lincoln’s War the bitter crop illustrated by Jesus’ “Parable of the Tares” threatens to overcome the fields of America unless the angels of God come to do the reaping, separating the good from the bad. And I’m not at all sure this is going to happen here in America given the fact the weeds were sown in the soil of slavery, with welfare and our open borders continuing to invite the weeds to multiply sustained by extorting taxpayers for the benefit only of the wealthy with no end in sight.

And now that even Northern overseers as Henry Thoreau called them cannot provide employment because of a leadership that has betrayed and sold out American industries and jobs to foreign nations the slaves cannot even rise above their government mandated status as slaves on the government dole. When even the good seeds cannot find suitable soil, employment, they are doomed to morph into weeds. But a Hussein presidency could be a Pharaoh that knew not Joseph and provide employment for the slaves, though this would require Americans being denied any pretense of Constitutional liberties.

However, I don’t see any Moses coming to deliver us from slavery, and I can’t help but wonder even should one appear if the slaves once delivered wouldn’t quickly be demanding a return to Egypt where they could at least be fed? Besides, where would such a Moses be leading us? I don’t see any Promised Land for American slaves.

Neither Emerson nor his disciple Thoreau could cut the Gordian Knot of trade cursing all it touches, even though both agreed such a thing was an evil permeating all civilizations but difficult, if not impossible to circumvent. In the final analysis the benefits of civilization are relative, causing to wonder as Henry speculated if the savage that owned his wigwam would prove the wiser to trade for the palace of the civilized he would never own. And though I own my humble cottage here in this part of the Kern River Valley, my ownership is contingent on keeping up the property taxes, much of which is used to benefit politicians and their subsidized weeds.

Not only do politicians refuse to address the issue of the millions of illegal aliens in America and refuse to secure our borders for the sake of wage slavery and drug profits, none dare openly espouse birth control aimed at controlling the number of unproductive mouths to be fed at taxpayer expense. As evil as it was, it was one thing to breed slaves for productive labor and quite another thing for the unproductive to breed just to be supported by unearned bread extorted by the tyranny of government from the productive, the gospel according to Marx and his disciple Hussein.

From a global perspective, our planet would fare better with 3 billion fewer people. As it is, famine is threatening millions and the only “solution” the U.N. offers is to demand the productive nations feed the unproductive while doing nothing to curb the surplus unproductive populations demanding bread. What is not likely to happen is for unproductive nations to produce the kind of leaders that would be anything other than corrupt tyrants and despots siphoning off the help provided to their own use without benefit to their starving millions.

It only adds to the enmity of other nations that TV continues to promote an image of America as a nation filled with violent, sexually perverted, materialistic and hedonistic people demanding they be entertained and devoted only to their own selfish desires, and a thoroughly corrupt leadership dedicated to a continuum of such selfishness. That such an image of America serves the purpose of fanatical Muslims and the anti-American propaganda of other nations is something to which the MSM, Hollywood and politicians seem utterly oblivious.

Nature red in tooth and claw will remorselessly thin out herds that have overpopulated even to the extent of creatures turning on those of their own kind for survival, and if conditions should become such here in America who can say what the outcome might be? But the recent surge in people buying guns could be a predictor of what people are fearing as the outcome not only of the coming election but of worsening conditions in America where lawlessness and barbarism is becoming too much the rule rather than the exception. Of this We the People can be certain: Hussein and a Democrat controlled Congress fearing a revolution the Founding Fathers recognized might be necessary in the face of a future despotic government the Second Amendment specifically addresses by “the right of the people to keep and bear arms” would be making every attempt to disarm law abiding citizens.

No one need be a believer in the Apocalypse to understand the world is in turmoil and world peace is as far from realization as it has ever been. The specter of world famine looms as unpredictable weather conditions devastate harvests and our oceans are being depleted of fish for food. The Bible has it world conditions will become such as to demand a leader who will cause the nations to come together as he promises peace and prosperity for all. Despite the Biblical warning about a falling away and the Man of Sin revealed such a seductive siren call would be hard to ignore in an increasingly dangerous world.

For those that believe such a thing is farfetched, what could be more farfetched than Hussein actually being a serious contender for the presidency (and not assassinated), and Republicans offering no one better than McCain? Such a thing is the stuff of a really bad novel, not real life; but here it is, stranger than a fiction that at least has to make a modicum of sense, and quite frankly going beyond the fraud, corruption and lies it is downright spooky and gives me the creeps!

It’s a sign of the times when prospecting and mining equipment is enjoying resurgence as it is here in the Kern River Valley. I’m very familiar with prospecting and mining, and over the years have known many involved with this. Some are into it for recreation, the weekend panners and small time dredgers with small riffle boxes for example enjoying the great outdoors as much as the hunt for gold. But there are signs that the new interest in this is being born of fear and desperation because of a sinking economy, and I may yet have someone coming to my place seeking my expertise in prospecting. For example, I know where someone could begin looking for a very promising tungsten load were they of a mind to but for my own reasons I’m not all that anxious to give away such a source, perhaps because of my Choctaw Cherokee ancestry that often suggests it is better to keep some things a secret from the “white eyes.”

The silver mine I filed on in 1969 up on Bull Run Creek was never done with the intention of working it, but rather to keep that area the pristine wilderness I came to know as a boy. But imagine my consternation when I filed the claim and discovered the old boys that first discovered the silver load and worked it back in the 20s had never bothered to file on the claim and tell Uncle Sam about their discovery. However, the evidence was there including mule trail, old engines used to pump water out of the stope, the tin shack with cook stove and several old bedsprings, rock crusher and smelter, stone fortress with gun loops and stone holding ponds that a whole lot of silver had been taken out of that mine.

To this very day, that old mining operation is a mystery and no one seems to know anything about it. A further mystery is whether those old fellows stopped working the mine because the seam ran out or because they could no longer keep the water pumped out of that stope? A tantalizing thought, that, there may still remain a fortune in silver left untouched. However, what with the restrictions today, the enormous cost of slant-drilling to try and pick up the silver seam, pumping and drying of the shaft no one would likely make the investment without it being a sure thing. So, the mystery may remain a mystery, one like so many others associated with prospecting and mining.

But I love a mystery, and those of us who believe in the supernatural, who believe in God, in ghosts and spirits, angels and demons, have a considerable advantage over those that do not believe, one very real advantage is being able to make sense out of the crazy world we live in, a world that makes little sense by strictly empirical proofs of science. As a very well educated man I look at what science has to offer and in many cases this has never been enough for me; there are just too many things utterly inexplicable without their having a supernatural, metaphysical if you will, explanation.

What is happening right now with politics in America makes no sense to me apart from a manifestation of God vs. Satan. To ascribe this to the failings of human nature alone makes no sense, especially when the battle is still being fought over who really killed JFK, who was really behind the 9/11 attack on America and so many other things of great magnitude you have to wonder who would have the power to pull some of these things off without definite, undeniable proof positive concerning the perpetrators being readily available.

Right now it is so patently obvious the Devil’s candidate for the presidency is Hussein that only crediting the Evil One can possibly account for the enormous amount of MSM propagandizing hatred generated against Governor Palin. How can her wardrobe really be of more concern than Hussein’s ties to Ayers, Wright, ACORN and refusal to allow the kind of microscope turned on him and his background, family and allies than either McCain or Palin? This should speak volumes of Satan being busy covering and running interference for his chosen candidate. More to the point in my opinion, I long ago concluded Caesar Bush has not been assassinated because the Devil takes care of his own, and I assume the same thing to be true for Hussein. Simply considering how many would like to pull the trigger on both men, who but the Devil could keep either of them alive? I admit to discounting any good guardian angels.

But speaking of Ayers, he is a perfect example of why I say the universities of America are Public Enemy Number One! The universities of America are where Satan really holds power over America, not in our government which is only a product of the universities. If you want to know how powerless We the People really are you only have to consider how virtually impossible it is to hold the universities accountable and why those like Ayers are so representative of the universities as a whole. That folks has to be the Devil’s work, taking care of and rewarding his own.

Well, I continue to love a mystery. I’ll take the supernatural being involved with the affairs not only of world conditions, of conditions threatening America, but in my own personal life. For example, I have a “shrine” here where I write with the pictures and mementos of loved ones gone on before me to be with the Lord. At sundown, I have here of late been given to lighting a candle at this place of remembrance and communion with these loved ones and hold a holy vigil with them, the soft light of the candle lending soft comfort to my soul at the end of each day. As I do battle with the Evil One and his servants, this interlude at the end of the day is where I find comfort and solace for my soul. If you do not have such a place of comfort and solace you might consider it, especially in these uncertain times.

Because the Devil owns the MSM and virtually none rise in the ranks without having sold out to Satan, a point made blatantly obvious by so many anointing Hussein their messiah refusing any close scrutiny of their chosen one, his background, family and allies while doing all they can to demonize Governor Sarah Palin I really appreciated her saying “The election is all in God’s hands.” What the governor is not saying, and certainly does not dare say is that in God bringing judgment on America Hussein may be Satan’s choice for the presidency as an instrument of God’s judgment otherwise in my opinion his ever being a serious contender for president appears insane!

But here is the flip side of the apologetic; would God’s judgment be any less severe should McCain win? He has already said taxpayers should bail out the greedy corporations responsible for the fiscal meltdown including forcing the responsible to pay for the irresponsible by government subsidizing the houses welfare drones and illegal aliens are living in and could never afford. In its own way this is the kind of fraud ACORN is guilty of, but being supported by McCain! I have reason to question whether McCain’s brand of socialism is any more palatable than Hussein’s. In either case the greedy, corrupt crooks and the politicians they have bought are not going to worry about being prosecuted or going to prison for their crimes against We the People.

While it is patently obvious ACORN is a shill for Hussein and his Marxist/Democrat Party given to fraud and registering the highest number of ignorant and illiterate welfare drones in America looking for the messiah of all handouts at taxpayer expense there is nothing to be done about it anymore than the corporate crooks including their bought politicians Republican and Democrat will ever go to jail for the massive banking fraud taxpayers will be extorted to pay for.

And there is little to be done about the abuse of the word “gay” for homosexuals making it an oxymoron because they are so unhappy and filled with self-loathing they try to take this out on sexually normal people by flaunting themselves openly and demanding laws that legitimize perversion and even attempting to pervert the obvious meaning of marriage itself as a relationship between a man and a woman.  [edited by admin] Homosexuals have no chance of entering heaven when they die according to the Bible in which sexual perversion is pronounced an abomination to God and they must get all they can out of this life. It may the reason some homosexuals hate Governor Sarah Palin and love Hussein; there is nothing odd or queer about Governor Palin either in words or behavior and she is a fundamentalist Bible believing Christian. Small wonder the Devil’s propaganda machine is really cranking up hatred for her.

Folks, I don’t see any way out of this mess. No matter who is elected I continue to view America as the Babylon of Revelation, that the perversion and violence, the hedonistic materialism being promoted in America cries out for God’s judgment and it matters little who is in the White House should this actually prove to be the case. I agree with Governor Palin the election is in God’s hands, but our point of departure is I am not a politician and have the liberty to elaborate on that theme while she does not dare even if she were in agreement. But if things deteriorate to the point of open rebellion in America you will find me in that group “Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition.” In short, while I have the strength I’m not going to quietly submit to the Devil and his crowd, and that includes the perverts promoting the Devil’s work for which God brought about the Deluge and later destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah as an example of his hatred of sexual perversion!

Yes I do take the Bible literally in many instances, but as a scholar of the Bible I’m very familiar with both its strengths and weaknesses. However, it does take real scholarship to make sense of even the strengths of the Bible. For example Genesis does present the facts of Creation, though the basis of these facts goes much further back in time than many realize.

The events described in the opening chapters of Genesis make much more sense if our planet at the time of Adam and Eve and the Garden involved a single land mass as Hebrew scholars believe rather than the division into continents, which may have come about from the breaking up of the fountains of the deep during the Deluge and the word “Seas” during the Creation would include rivers and lakes leading to confusion for those not familiar with the Hebrew. It isn’t likely Cain would have crossed an ocean to dwell in the land of Nod after murdering his brother Abel, and the single continent theory before the Deluge as a universal flood has much to support it.

If true, then the actual exposed land mass from the Genesis account of Creation at the time of Noah may have been relatively small if the resulting ocean depths from God breaking up the fountains of the deep allowed for a far greater land mass due to upheaval after the waters receded following the flood, and the drying out of this much larger exposed land mass and the creating of continents due to fracture and drift came into being. Fossils of ocean creatures found in dry lands may well have come from the earth at one time having a single very small dry land mass surrounded by water and ocean creatures were captured in various lakes following the Deluge only to die out as the waters receded and some of these lakes drained and dried up as the continents were being formed.

All of this tells me the population of humans at the time of Noah was probably quite small, but even in that small population perversion and violence had become the rule occasioning God’s repenting he had even created humankind and purposed to wipe it out. Still, one would think God knew by sparing Noah’s son Ham the cycle of perversion and violence would be perpetuated. It is here along with the original creation of the Adam in God’s (plural) own image there is much room for speculation concerning the council of gods much in the manner of the description given in Job where Satan appears with the sons of God and the comingling of the sons of God and the daughters of men in Genesis that led to the decision to bring about the Deluge.

I have always thought the dinosaurs to be a diabolical creation, something Satan would be capable of much in the way I think of nature red in tooth and claw resulting from The Fall occasioning God’s curse being pronounced not only on Adam and Eve but the whole of Creation. But the Genesis account covers a very long span of time, including creating a suitable habitation for Adam and Eve devoid of creatures like the dinosaurs. While the remnants of such creatures remain with us, the greater part of beasts against which humans would be no match was destroyed.

Obviously God has a lot of patience; the patience to create a universe and give it time for a unique galaxy with a unique solar system with our unique planet to form that would make human life like Adam and Eve possible. But we are warned in Scripture there is an end to the patience of God; that the time is coming when he will declare an end to the evil of Satan’s dominion in the earth, that this earth will be destroyed and a new heaven and earth will take the place of the old.

I greatly admire Governor Palin; she is a faint glimmer of hope on the political scene. But I do wonder if she really understands the full import of her statement “The election is all in God’s hands.” I believe this is a good time for all you Sunday School dropouts to dust off your Bibles and become familiar with what God has to say about the times we are living in and what is yet to come, and the responsibility of the children of God to discern the spirits of this age whether they be of God or Satan. For example, the monsters that prey upon women and children have to be the spawn of Satan, they cannot be human. But the responsibility of the children of God is to do battle against the children of the Devil, and in this age, perhaps the last age where Satan has so successfully obfuscated the facts and suborned so many in his service it is becoming increasingly difficult, even risky to speak out and do battle against the works and servants of the Devil.

Since things are becoming increasingly weird and surreal during this election cycle I might be excused for thinking Charles Schulz was really on to something with the Great Pumpkin. Now I use the words weird and surreal about the present politics because it gets tiresome to continue using words like corruption, fraud, etc. We know all politicians are corrupt, that no one of noble character ever seeks to become a politician when they could choose a nobler occupation like robbing graves or writing for TV. Besides, the fact of the matter is that at no time in American history has the political scene been such a seeming fantasy as this one, lending itself to terms like weird and surreal.

Many of us believe in ghosts and spirits, and what would Tevye have done if he could not have prevailed on his wife in Fiddler on the Roof with the help of an appeal to the spirit world? Not to give away any secrets about a work in progress I have begun, but what if a Christmas Carol should be written reflecting the present situation of American politics? How would the spirits of America past, present, and future appear, and who would be our Scrooge? No, I am not going to reveal my candidate for the role at this time.

I really enjoy Halloween; I enjoy the special programming like that of Charlie Brown and others, all the decorations and the old spooky movies and I have always enjoyed ghost stories, and I would ask Bible believers to take special notice of the credit given to ghosts and spirits in the Bible. And even if you don’t believe the Bible stories one must grant the world of literature such as that of Shakespeare and many other worthies as well as many of the films of Hollywood would suffer mightily without ghosts and spirits. Even the most cynical concerning a spirit world might admit they enjoy the just plain fun of Topper and other like films.

But I don’t care for the violent, ghoulish films that are given to graphic horrors. These remind me of how Charles Lamb wished that as a child he had never seen that woodcut of the Witch of Endor calling the prophet Samuel from the spirit world. Such was the impression on his young mind he would forever after caution parents to never leave their children alone in the dark.

Henry Thoreau wrote “I believe men are generally still a little afraid of the dark, though the witches are all hung, and Christianity and candles have been introduced.” But what would Halloween be without ghosts, witches, spells and curses; and perhaps it is these which Henry really had in mind and makes some people more than a little uncomfortable walking through a graveyard at night, and even those most cynical of such things tempted to whistle a little tune while passing through such places of the dead. An old acquaintance of mine had a job in a mortuary and was provided a room upstairs. He once told me the most difficult thing he had to do was trying not to run up the stairs to his room after turning off all the lights down below at night.

Even in this enlightened age there are people given to lucky charms and amulets, much as some of our military I recall during WWII were often carrying such things, and even today you will find many people having such totems. A rabbit’s foot or four-leaf clover continues to have charm for many people, items like these continuing to enjoy brisk sales.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is an excellent film, but can there be anything to the beliefs of hexes and curses? There are so many mysteries not subject to scientific verification I admit of not being sure but what such things might have some validity. And given the weird and surreal politics going on I’m reminded of one of the most well known curses in the annals of literature; that of Noah’s curse on his son Ham and his posterity.

As I wrote at the time of his announced resignation I thought it was most unfortunate Colin Powell did not resign from the Bush administration earlier to save his reputation. He had to soon realize he was in a snake pit, one in which he was being used, but waited too long and never recovered the esteem in which many of us had once held him, so much so that I had even suggested he run for president at one time. Now, his endorsement of Barack Hussein Obama is seen as nothing more than getting back at Caesar Bush as well as having to bear accusations of being a Negro first and an American second. Powell is certainly well aware of these views and whatever his thinking must believe it’s worth the price to bear such criticism.

But many of us will still remember Powell’s previous decisions were a disaster for him, especially those leading to his being used as a pawn by Caesar Bush and his cronies, and weird and surreal as it sounds I can’t help thinking Noah’s curse is still ringing true and Powell may be suffering the consequences just as Hussein may reflect the curse as part of God bringing judgment on America, perhaps a very large part at least because of the Founding Fathers refusing to abolish slavery by our Constitution.

Some theologians believe the Egyptians of the time of the Exodus were Hamites, and part of God’s judgment against Egypt may have involved the curse of Noah having to do with the sexual perversion of his son Ham. Whether or not there is no discounting the disaster slavery wrought in ancient Egypt and in America leading to the attempt at national suicide called the Civil War, something from which America never recovered and is still being fought today in many ways with people like Louis Farrakhan certainly adding fuel to the fire of this ongoing battle.

Rudyard Kipling’s “The White Man’s Burden” continues to hold interest for cultural anthropologists and I have used it in teaching a college class on the subject. So, the ancient tale of Noah’s curse would seem to be carried out through history, and the mistaken notion the curse may be reversed by applying the ways of the civilized to those of the barbaric have failed in most instances of imperial rule, and this Halloween may very well have an October Surprise.

But things have become so weird and surreal here of late, actually quite bizarre in my opinion, that I may just find myself in a pumpkin patch awaiting the Great Pumpkin while turning over in my mind America past, present, and future. Life is strange, and the ways of God beyond our understanding. However, lacking understanding of so many things I continue to permit myself a wide range of both speculation and whimsy.

Halloween has always been a great favorite of mine, and I love all the old spooky films and the decorations that come with the season. But I must say this Halloween is shaping up to be not only quite surreal but one of the spookiest in memory because of what is happening on the political and world scene.

Over the years I have built up quite a mailing list for some of my writings, but there is just something about getting official notification something I have written and sent out being acknowledged by the White House. It never used to bother me, but here of late I’m becoming a little uneasy about this. Better than the FBI knocking on my door, but I have been considerably less than flattering of Caesar Bush and his administration and these are uneasy times for many of us who are candid in our criticism of government in general and put such criticism in writing, and folks things are getting pretty spooky.

So, to relieve some of the anxiety over the spookiness of it all I turn to the mysteries I keep turning over in my mind. For example despite the many theories and glossy presentations we still do not know the when, why, or how of the Sphinx or the building of the great Giza pyramids, and no one knows how the constellations of the first Zodiacs were determined since it was impossible for humans to even discern planets apart from our moon with their unaided eyes. But we read in Genesis 1:14-15: And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth:  and it was so.

With the loss of the great library at Alexandria we may have lost much of what the ancients knew concerning the early mapping of the planets and stars and the beginnings of astrology, what the actual source of such knowledge may have been. But the story in Genesis credits such knowledge existing from great antiquity whatever the source and was carried to every civilization. It is still a mystery how the ancients accomplished so many engineering marvels that were beyond any merely human ability or invention, there is the mystery of being able to smelt ore for iron and work it and a host of other mysteries no amount of scientific speculation has been able to resolve.

Even Modern Man suddenly and inexplicably appearing not that long ago is a continued source of speculation among scientists, and discoveries concerning this force the changing of the theories and literature in academia. Here is something recent about this from K. Kris Hirst: “Up until the 1980s, paleoanthropologists generally followed the taxonomic system followed by the 18th century scientist Carl Linnaeus, when they spoke of the various species of humans. The family of Hominoids included the subfamily of Hominids (humans and their ancestors) and Anthropoids (chimps, gorillas, and orangutans). The problem is, recent molecular studies show that humans, chimps and gorillas are closer to one another than orangutans. So, scientists split the Hominoids into two subfamilies: Ponginae (orangutans) and Homininae (humans and their ancestors, and chimps and gorillas). But, we still need a way to discuss humans and their ancestors as a separate group, so researchers have proposed a further breakdown of the Homininae subfamily, to include Hominini (humans and their ancestors), Panini (chimps), and Gorillini (gorillas).”

The universe may be far younger than scientists have believed since the theory emerged our galaxy might exist in a cosmic bubble interfering with the measure of distance to stars. It could mean the nearest star Proxima Centauri is not 4.3 light years distance, but perhaps much closer. October 01, 2008. By Clara Moskowitz: If the notion of dark energy sounds improbable, get ready for an even more outlandish suggestion. Earth may be trapped in an abnormal bubble of space-time that is particularly void of matter. Scientists say this condition could account for the apparent acceleration of the universe's expansion, for which dark energy currently is the leading explanation. Dark energy is the name given to the hypothetical force that could be drawing all the stuff in the universe outward at an ever-increasing rate. Current thinking is that 74 percent of the universe could be made up of this exotic dark energy, with another 21 percent being dark matter, and normal matter comprising the remaining 5 percent. Until now, there has been no good way to choose between dark energy or the void explanation, but a new study outlines a potential test of the bubble scenario. If we were in an unusually sparse area of the universe, then things could look farther away than they really are and there would be no need to rely on dark energy as an explanation for certain astronomical observations. "If we lived in a very large under-density, then the space-time itself wouldn't be accelerating," said researcher Timothy Clifton of Oxford University in England. "It would just be that the observations, if interpreted in the usual way, would look like they were… "One problem with the void idea, though, is that it negates a principle that has reined in astronomy for more than 450 years: namely, that our place in the universe isn't special. When Nicholas Copernicus argued that it made much more sense for the Earth to be revolving around the sun than vice versa, it revolutionized science. Since then, most theories have to pass the Copernican test. If they require our planet to be unique, or our position to be exalted, the ideas often seem unlikely…

Nevertheless, I continue to believe ours is a unique planet in a unique solar system in a unique galaxy, and this conforms with the Biblical view of such a thing. When trying to make sense of so many mysteries right here on earth including the mysteries of life and death, of good and evil the Bible continues to be our best resource.

Whichever way the election goes I continue to believe America is in the grip of Satan and facing the judgment of God, but to hear some of the most small-minded, prejudiced and ignorant bigots talk they would have you believe Negroes overwhelmingly are going to vote for Obama not because of the color of his skin but because they believe he is the best candidate, but the Caucasians that vote for McCain will do so because they are racists. This is the way of the Devil’s propaganda and no less Hitlerian than that used against the Jews of Hitler’s Germany; and it is no accident the MSM refuses to scrutinize Obama while demonizing McCain/Palin at every opportunity. But this is far more than the usual Marxist propaganda demonizing conservatives, this is downright weird and only increases my uneasiness over what is happening to America.

However, as I have often pointed out to people if you trust in God everything else is peripheral to that single principle and motivating factor in your life and that includes whatever the outcome of this election and what becomes of America. Nations will rise and nations will fall, but every nation including America that forsakes and forgets God will go down. It was the sexual uncleanness of his own son that caused Noah to pronounce a curse against Ham and all his descendants, and it was sexual uncleanness that caused God to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah as a sign of God’s hatred of sexual perversion. I don’t believe it is a coincidence that the rise of glorifying violence and perversion here in America and our troubles as a nation seem to go together just as they did according to the words of Jesus warning about the last days of the End Times being like the days just before the Deluge, and Noah’s curse of Ham and his descendants together with the failure of the Founding Fathers to exclude slavery by our Constitution may be playing a role in this as well.

But I am continuing to pay attention to what is happening in the world of science and with the LHC, and found the following quite fascinating: CERN rivals see melting magnets as par for course: 'It's what happens when you start up a big, superconducting machine.' By Alexander G. Higgins: The Associated Press, Mon., Sept. 29, 2008. GENEVA – … But making colliders superconducting is a major challenge. In the case of the LHC, it means making the 17-mile accelerator ring colder than outer space. And the warm-up, cool-down time needed to make repairs — the "thermal cycle" — is longer than for Fermilab, where the simpler design of the magnets only requires two or three days. Brookhaven needs a month, Harrison said. Brookhaven also had problems with connections between magnets that caused a quench. "The thing about the LHC was it has not just caused a quench, but there are systems that are supposed to prevent it from melting and dumping helium," Harrison said. "So it was obviously something else that went on as well." CERN has been receiving words of encouragement from rivals, who stressed that startup problems are common. Jackson said that despite the problems, there have been great strides in the making of magnets. She said Fermilab had lots of problems with exploding magnets when it was commissioning its first, room-temperature accelerator four decades ago, leading the scientist in charge to paraphrase Alfred Tennyson's 1854 poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade": "Magnets to the left of us, magnets to the right of us, magnets in front of us volley'd and thunder'd." "They were blowing up all the time," said Jackson.

How can you fail to appreciate the wonder of it, especially when scientists take a poetical view of mysteries and saying things like: "The thing about the LHC was it has not just caused a quench, but there are systems that are supposed to prevent it from melting and dumping helium," Harrison said. "So it was obviously something else that went on as well."

Ah gentle reader, it is that something else that causes my mind to turn to Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. And could there be more than the Great Pumpkin arising from some sincere pumpkin patch this Halloween? Now about that recent acknowledgment from the White House; could it have been something I said? I believe I will light a candle here in front of my shrine with the pictures and mementos of departed loved ones and friends and talk to them for a while right now.

There was a moment of intuitive regret I vividly recall when I was about eight years old and it came to my mind I did not want to give up the childhood things like my cap guns and playing marbles, but I somehow knew these things were soon to pass away. This was a moment of premature melancholy sadness, and one that in later years I came to wonder about; why at such a young age would I even have had such a thought? A good part of this must have had to do with the amount of violence I had already experienced as a child together with living in a world at war, and like the original innocence of Adam and Eve this was giving way to the harsh reality of a world cursed by sin in which the innocence of childhood was to be of short duration.

Jesus admonished those trying to prevent little children coming to him with the words “Forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” His harshest condemnation was of those that would harm a child, and some of his other statements concerning children would seem to confirm my own thoughts that only children have the kind of wisdom that could save the world much in the way little Scout dispersed that lynch mob in To Kill A Mockingbird if only adults did not forsake the wisdom of childhood.

Charles Lamb supposed even lawyers were once children and Henry Thoreau could wish he were as wise as the day he was born, observing children play at life with more wisdom than adults live it, giving credit to the things of greatest value that are the particular domain of childhood. Take away the curse of sex that falls predominantly on women and you have that wiser world the distinctive domain of childhood, one perhaps referred to by Jesus with his emphasis on the importance of childhood and saying that in heaven people do not marry or are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God. And who has not wondered at his telling Nicodemus he must be born again and become as a little child before he could have any hope of entering heaven. But good man that he was I suppose Nicodemus came to understand the words of Jesus that the kingdom of God is within us, that the Spirit of God that with the faith of a child motivates to do good and live honestly before both God and men is distinctive of a child of God.

Among small children there is no discrimination relating to sex, power and wealth. But small children intuitively sense bad seed such as the bullies for example and try to avoid them. At a very early age children are able to distinguish with an intuitive knowledge of right and wrong, fairness and justice and between the children of God and the children of the Devil even though they cannot articulate such, but a child of God would know intuitively there is no such thing as rehabilitation for bullies like satanic child molesters. Only some adults that have either forsaken or never known the wisdom of childhood would entertain such an evil and wicked notion.

That magical time of childhood has room for things of the most surreal, but the transition to adulthood is too often so harsh as to leave the better angels of childhood behind and eventually forgotten. But as things become increasingly surreal for adults on the political and world scene it is absolutely fascinating the burgeoning numbers of people resorting to astrology, crystal balls, and the occult as the times become ever more dangerous and uncertain for America and the world.

No truly qualified biblical scholar is without thorough knowledge of the wide-ranging literature and practices having to do with witchcraft and the occult. To understand many of the accounts in the Bible having to do with supernatural events demands a person have a solid background in the beliefs of the times including witchcraft and sorcery in which the events described took place, and hopefully learn to distinguish between the works of God and the works of Satan, something important to the teaching found about these in both Old and New Testaments.

While the advantages of a good education are many, throughout my own academic studies what I learned among many things is a university education often produces only a more knowledgeable savage rather than a truly civilized person, “educated fools” as my grandad called them. A good education does not preclude beliefs concerning God and Intelligent Design, Satan, angels and demons, but a good education might enable a person to become more discriminating about their beliefs and not confuse these with facts. However, the facts concerning the supernatural are sometimes hard to come by; nevertheless the facts are there if only on an individual basis sometimes seeming to favor only a chosen few.

In these uncertain and even fearful times not a few of us would like to return to the magical world of childhood, providing it was not a time of horror as it turns out for so many, and recapture the joy and security we may have known as children. But the real comfort for adults is to find that place with God where we can tell him of our concerns and find the kind of peace only God can give us.

I often tell folks I have my ghosts and the resident cat to talk to, believing the spirits of loved ones and friends now gone on before me are still with me, that they hear and watch over me. Neither they nor the cat have replied to my conversations, but this makes my belief concerning these loved ones and friends no less real than the cat. If people are looking for comfort such as they may have known as children there is no other place I know so comforting as to have such a belief. And perhaps as the world becomes increasingly dangerous and uncertain more people will turn to God and share my belief. A hymn by J. B. Coates I recall from childhood has it “Where Could I go but to the Lord.” And you know folks this expresses my own thoughts in these dangerous and uncertain times, and I find a lot of comfort in this and hope you do also.

Yes on 8! No on Hussein! In my opinion these are not going to change either America or the world’s inexorable march toward Armageddon whichever way they go because while Jesus chased the moneychangers out of the temple of his time the moneychangers today are of global magnitude and I believe it will take God’s direct intervention to chase this demonic crowd out. In the meantime the global servants of Satan including those in our own government can no more change their spots than the leopard, and the ghosts I live with together with the resident cat make more sense than the seemingly lunatic leaders of America or those pushing an agenda of redefining marriage to include homosexuals that is bound to create chaos, hatred and endless litigation!

The Bible clearly condemns perversion calling it an abomination to God and it is personally revolting and repulsively offensive to me and the great majority of sexually normal people. And quite frankly I don’t see McCain as being America’s best hope of a better future but only the lesser of evils. But who profits from promoting homosexuality, open borders, government virtually nationalizing banks and industry, promoting Marxist godlessness in our schools and a candidate like Barack Hussein Obama that the nations of the world at enmity with us love while hating America and Israel? He may very well be the man for the times, but those times may be the End Times!

In the beginning God instituted marriage between a man and a woman as Jesus affirmed and no number of perverts is going to be able to flaunt the clear intention of God, and attempts to do so will only hasten God’s judgment against America! The correct term is “heterophobia” not “homophobia,” and homosexuals are not “gay” but fear and hate sexually normal people as their propaganda clearly proclaims for the whole world to see! Lincoln did not free the slaves, he paved the way for Northern overseers to replace those of the South, and no amount of laws will create “marriage” between homosexuals notwithstanding the Bible declaring such unnatural acts an abomination to God!

Obama’s spiritual mentor and advisor of some twenty years Jeremiah Wright preached a doctrine of hatred toward Caucasians and Obama and his wife went right along with the program together with a MSM that has made Obama the clear choice of their master Satan! The impunity with which Obama and his wife flaunts things like their elitist scorn for Middle America and the blatantly obvious associations with Ayers, Wright and ACORN, their love of the U.N. and hellish doctrine of “redistribution of wealth” which is nothing but Marxism clearly tell us where both Obama and his wife are coming from. Obama is not simply playing the race card; he is the race card!

But Carter, the Clintons, Bush1 and his son Caesar Bush have paved the way for the Obama’s to take the White House, and the choice of McCain only increased the chances for the professional haters like Jeremiah Wright together with his disciples the Obama’s with the aid of organizations like ACORN and a most cooperative Federal Triune Dictatorship to make America over into a Marxist nation. If as I have mentioned in some of my other writings slavery should prove to be the seed of our destruction, something I believe Benjamin Franklin foresaw, the Obama’s and their supporters would be the ones I would expect to hasten this destruction.

While the Founding Fathers made the most grievously of tragic errors by not excluding the evil of slavery by our Constitution, the continuing evil against America has been done by leaders that have betrayed America’s Biblical heritage and culture; have refused to secure our borders for the sake of slave labor benefitting only the wealthy and have refused to make English our national language by law. But this betrayal of America could not succeed without the real power of the universities making this all possible. It is the universities of America that make policy and produce every leader throughout the entire spectrum of a government that is nothing but a Federal Triune Dictatorship, that produce all the leaders in education, the MSM, and corporations, and Satan owns the universities of America that preach a godless doctrine of Marxism throughout while punishing anyone attempting to speak a word on behalf of God, the Bible, and Intelligent Design!

But who actually supports the universities of America? If you want to know how Satan funds these institutions you will find apart from taxpayers the powerful foundations of great wealth doing so, those that are profiting from globalization that encourages warfare and slavery worldwide and would make America a vassal nation to dreams of global empire, something that the Bible says will come to pass before God brings his final judgment against Satan’s world dominion.

There are many fears being visited upon us; fears of lawlessness as people become desperate for food and shelter, fears of a Weimar-like hyperinflation with worthless paper money, fears of martial law and troops in our streets and on our borders, fears of race riots if Obama does not win and so much more. America is being fractured and divided on so many issues God alone can put our nation back together; and I don’t see anything that gives me hope of God doing so. But given the satanic agenda of perversion and hatred for those who believe in God how can we expect the Lord’s intervention on behalf of America?

Most of us will be glad enough to see this presidential election with all its ugliness and propagandizing come to an end. But no matter who wins the question remaining in my mind will be whether it will be the end of America as a sovereign nation, something that already seems to be a work in progress. Of this much I am certain; until the Day of Judgment Satan will continue to take care of his own, to take care of the global moneychangers including those that really rule our nation and intend to enslave all Americans, making us all the worshippers and servants to Caesar and idols of gold and silver.

In the past radio was something we really depended upon to deliver us from the blue demons and Fibber McGee and Molly premiered the year I was born and made people laugh every time Molly delivered that line “T’ain’t funny, McGee!” But the humor of this generation is for the greater part mean and malicious, vulgar and profane and without any of the redeeming value of the past when folks knew how to laugh at themselves even in the midst of adversity, and for the greater part the humor of this age brings that line by Molly to mind, but in all seriousness “T’ain’t funny, McGee!”

Following the crash of ’29 Hollywood stepped up and gave Americans some marvelous escapist films like the Gold Digger series and others. During WWII there were great films that enabled us to find some escape from the daily news of the horrors of war and the sacrifices required of us here on the Home Front. Now that America is facing a crisis of potentially horrific and unknown dimensions I doubt Hollywood is going to be able to give people anything to laugh and sing about and those great old radio programs have receded into history, alive only in the memories of those of us old enough to remember them.

Some people are working hard at their astrological charts trying to make sense of all the craziness overtaking America and elsewhere in the world but I turn to the Bible, and because of this I don’t need anyone telling me there are hard times coming for America, a time when we will see tent cities, Hoovervilles proliferating, bread lines and soup kitchens, riots, concentration camps, martial law and the military patrolling our cities and borders. Of course, no one really has to turn to the Bible to understand these things are coming, all they have to do is keep tuned in to the news. And despite so many fools in the MSM on TV continuing to laugh and joke with one another in the face of calamity for America I have to say “T’ain’t funny, McGee!”

To repeat a caution I wrote about long ago the leaders and generals of Hitler’s Germany could never have foreseen a “Nuremberg” in their future. “Impossible!” they would have exclaimed. But I could not dismiss such a thing being possible for America because of George Bush and his administration being the most inept and corrupt in our nation’s history leading in that direction. Can God’s judgment of America possibly include a war crimes tribunal for America and its leaders at some point? I freely admit it is the stuff of nightmares for me because I cannot entirely discount such a possibility given the direction toward national suicide our government seems to be leading us.

Divide and conquer is a familiar phrase and one of the Devil’s most successful tactics throughout human history, For example all the while perverts are trying to have their perversion legitimized by the insanity of demanding to be “married” despite the obviously perverted lunacy of such a thing, trading on their success by the Devil’s servants and media corrupting the term “gay” and using the lunatic term “homophobic” knowing full well as I do with a Ph. D. in Human Behavior that a true phobia is a clinically determined irrational fear and to have the perfectly natural reaction of revulsion to perversion on the part of sexually normal people demonized all the while the correct term is really “heterophobia” as evidenced by the perverts themselves. And apart from my own personal revulsion toward homosexual abnormal behavior my position is that of the Bible which declares homosexuality to be an abomination to God! As an ordained minister I used to preach that from my pulpit, and I will continue to preach it despite the Devil’s crowd trying to suppress the truth of the matter.

But it is the Devil’s tactics to divert attention from an agenda of destroying America as the Evil One is busy at work as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour while rewarding his servants by great wealth and power, dividing America into various factions along the lines of politics, religion, race, and including that of homosexuals each demanding they be treated preferentially by law and be given entitlement contrary to even common sense. And it is nothing less than perverse that our own government has betrayed America by evil and wicked university professors and politicians with their corporate bosses dedicated to destroying our heritage and culture, refusing to secure our borders for the obvious sake of slave labor, and rather than making English our common language by law and refusing to print ballots in a polyglot of foreign tongues forces legitimate American citizens “Press one for English!”

There are some who would attempt to label me crazy because I believe the Devil owns the media and caused it to treat Barack Hussein Obama like a rock star and from the very beginning made it impossible to address the obvious anti-American alliances and agenda of this servant of the Devil. Even now when so much of his evil tactics, alliances and agenda are being exposed the MSM continues to treat him as their own darling. My position is that the GOP was crazy for nominating McCain, though I saw Governor Palin as a glimmer of hope. Now, I have to consider the possibility that an Obama presidency should that come to pass will be a part of God’s judgment against America.

Because I believe the prophets of the Bible did have special communications from God and wrote what they were told to write it is easy to dismiss me as an End Times crackpot. But the evidence for this position is in knowing that no one could possibly have written the book of Revelation for example unless they were guided by God in doing so. I often compare such a thing with Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky. It is a device of some English literature teachers to ask their students to make sense of the story, and some of the less literate in such classes will attempt to do so, much to their chagrin when it is pointed out it was written as intentional nonsense.

But the book of Revelation while the biblically illiterate may try to dismiss it as silly or nonsense show their ignorance by missing the all-important point that unlike the Jabberwocky no one could possibly have simply decided to write such a thing, that it was beyond either ability or imagination to do such a thing. All during the years of my academic Biblical studies including the best of Biblical scholars the thing that struck me as most important to the literal veracity of the Bible in so many cases was the fact so much of it could not possibly have been written simply because someone decided to make up a story. And even if such a thing were possible, why would anyone decide to do this, what could they possibly hope to gain by doing so?

The Bible not only holds its own against all other works of literature, but is far above any works of human invention. And one only has to read the extracanonical literature to understand why these were excluded from the canon of Scripture. As to what God has in store for America perhaps our nation is at the tipping point for it to become Babylon of Revelation and our destruction will come suddenly, and all that follows as though to credit that Doomsday Calendar if not the prophecies of the Bible.

Along with the precious New Testament my maternal great-grandmother bought for me and underlined throughout for my special attention to these passages I have another precious book; a hymnal my grandparents used in our small Little Oklahoma church on the corner of Cottonwood and Padre in southeast Bakersfield that grandad built himself. It is titled The Latter Rain Revival Hymnbook. I often leaf through this recalling as though it were only yesterday the singing of our little congregation back then when the Okies and Arkies of the Dust Bowl migration of our neighborhood would come together to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

But now with America facing such catastrophic times it is the title of that hymnbook together with the events now being paraded across TV screens and the thoroughgoing corruption in our government being revealed for the whole world to witness that called to mind the following passage from Scripture: James 5:1-7: Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

I’m more than a little nonplussed to put it mildly over the Republicans and Democrats coming up with these two contenders for the White House. It just doesn’t make any sense to me unless politicians have determined national suicide is preferable to any of them losing their cushy jobs. The latest and pathetic so-called debate between McCain and Obama struck me as more of an epitaph for America, an only slightly premature requiem for America and the body politic.

The news is all so bad here of late it isn’t good for anyone’s BP; but without any decisive leadership out of this mess perhaps the time has come for the Man of Sin to make his debut. Obama’s spiritual mentor and advisor of some twenty years Jeremiah Wright speaking better than he knew was correct in calling on God to damn America, but for the wrong reason. Wright should have known that in calling for God’s judgment on America he was calling on God to bring to an end all the works of the Devil. And whoever he may be that Man of Sin will arise and achieve power, and promising peace will lead the nations of the world astray into destruction.

Like the drowning man clutching at straws I saw Governor Sarah Palin as a glimmer of hope. But despite my incredulity over the choice of Barack Hussein Obama and never giving him a chance at either the nomination or any hope of being elected I’m forced to recant and call to mind the warning of Scripture concerning the End Times: II Timothy 3:1-5: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The book of Revelation could not possibly have been written addressing only contemporary issues at the time but was clearly prophetic in many instances of a time yet to come, and the parallel of the description of Babylon in Revelation to America had struck me as very plausible long ago. But like believing Satan is a real entity and a real enemy of humankind even as the Bible has it including the affirmation of Jesus, considering my country being in the grip of the Evil One and God bringing judgment on America is not something I really want to believe; after all, who in possession of all their faculties would want to believe such a thing?

But as someone who credits the prophets of the Bible the signs of the times seem to be indelibly clear. Many fall into the category Paul outlines to Timothy, and the warning is absolute so far as I am concerned, that Paul is describing the very age in which we live. And since I don’t think it will matter who wins the White House, that God is bringing judgment against America my real concern is that Obama will only hasten this judgment rather than delay it and give America another chance to repent of wickedness and turn to God. Whether he would prove to be the Man of Sin in II Thessalonians remains a question yet to be answered, and as improbable as it seems I’m not quite willing to entirely discount the possibility. Now if he should gain the White House and recover from a mortal wound…

My position concerning matters of what I consider to be Biblical truth sets me at odds with the great majority of people, and I understand this. Such beliefs are considered extreme by the great majority, but there are many good scholars who share my beliefs in some of these things. A part of the foundation for some of my beliefs is the fact that no one would have thought Israel could ever again rise from the ashes and become a modern nation. But there is the nation of Israel, a testimony to the truth of the Bible in many instances and the times of the gentiles may in fact be coming to a quick and calamitous close.

I’m among the fortunate as Paul said of Timothy being taught and knowing from childhood the holy scriptures and having examples of holy living around me as a child, people of strong moral convictions and Biblical beliefs that taught me right from wrong and lived what they taught, even dedicating me to God at birth and giving me the prophet’s name as a token of that dedication as Samuel’s mother in the Old Testament. Now isn’t that a quaint anachronism as it would seem to most of an age long past, an age in which there were people who would do such a thing and actually believe it was of any consequence. But the events of my life, some of them life threatening have caused me to wonder many times whether God has set angels to guard over me because of the love and faith of those who promised me to God.

Even in the midst of such somber thoughts I’m not beyond being reminded of the scene in Young Frankenstein where he is in bed having that nightmare and begins exclaiming “Destiny! Destiny!” However, in my case it is something that seems very real at times and given the circumstances I might be excused for some of my thoughts crediting such a thing. And while most would dismiss such a thing as superstitious nonsense, there are those of sound mind willing to credit it or at least admit of the possibility. There are many unexplained mysteries, some among the paranormal that while real enough defy any rational explanation. Much in the way of the well known picture of an angel watching over two children on a rickety foot bridge as they are crossing a threatening raging torrent of water beneath them my having escaped death in so many instances falls within this realm of the paranormal. If I were back in our small church in Little Oklahoma this would quite properly be called “Testimony time.” Some of you brush arbor, tent meeting, and sawdust trail folks will understand what I am talking about.

Among my most precious possessions is a New Testament my maternal great-grandmother bought and reading through it painstakingly underlined many passages she hoped I would read and take to heart as I grew up. It would be some years before I was old enough to appreciate how rare this kind of thing was even for that age now long past. What was not rare back then was my great-grandmother’s complete and confident faith in God, something this generation knows little about. But as I hold and look through this precious New Testament I’m reminded of the major role my great-grandmother had in that dedication at the time of my birth, and I have come to appreciate how rare such faith as that of my great-grandmother was even back then.

That age long past into which I was born and one that was still characterized by people with faith in God and an America that still honored God, one often referred to as Norman Rockwell’s America was not representative of Paul’s warnings to Timothy about a time presaging the End of the Age when God brings his final judgment against the evil of this world system, destroying the works of the Devil and restores all things in which there will be a new heaven and a new earth where there will be no evil and righteousness will prevail.

All thoughts of the supernatural aside, there is no doubt about the precarious position America is now in. The things presently happening on the financial front are in fact ushering in a time of growing danger for our nation. In a relative moment of time the very foundations of our nation are being rocked as though a massive earthquake had occurred and we are only now assessing the damage, not knowing how to rebuild that which was lost, some wondering if in fact the foundation can even be restored upon which to build?

Obama may not be that Man of Sin and quite frankly the very thought seems patently ridiculous, but I remind myself it wasn’t that long ago his chances of even being a contender for president struck me as patently ridiculous and now… But if not that Man of Sin he certainly would be a willing accomplice and is promising to “rebuild” America while in collusion with the thoroughly anti-American U.N. and I am forcefully reminded for a man like him to win the presidency only requires a generation like this one: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.” My, oh my, to have seen that 1941 film The Wolf Man starring Lon Chaney, Jr. when it first came out! Like the original Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Mummy there has never been anything their equal in my opinion. But that curse of lycanthropy that so captured the imagination of children of my time after viewing the film seems to afflict politicians, some of whom may have begun with all the best of intentions, even saying their prayers by night but somewhere along the way succumbed to the bite of a werewolf.

Reflecting the very cautions of Jesus, Emerson had it no one of noble character would ever choose to become a politician since those that want power and authority over others with few exceptions want much and want such power and authority for their own benefit, not the benefit of others. But there can be no peace for those as the Psalmist had it who exercise themselves in great matters or in things too high for them. Invariably pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall, and it is the wisest course to choose to live simply rather than having much and becoming a victim to thieves.

I am used to living in the country where I learned as a boy you do not throw scraps of food out of doors since this will attract wild critters like bears, nor do you have garbage about in the house to attract roaches or other unwanted insects, and for years I have lived without much that would entice vermin like thieves. It is foolish to be improvident, to fail to heed the moral of the story of the ant and the grasshopper, but to live simply in the truest sense requires due diligence to providing for yourself while not wasting your time on acquiring the superfluities of wealth, those things that not only are beyond necessary food, shelter and clothing but the shiny things that will only perish in the using and will never satisfy the real needs and longings of the soul.

No one expects repentance or any wearing of sackcloth and ashes among politicians, but one might think that with all the bad news of their own creation some of them along with the empty suits and heads on TV MSM wouldn’t find that much to laugh about. But there they are still joking around with each other, smiling for the cameras as though everything was hunky dory; and if not victims of a werewolf’s bite probably don’t say their prayers at night in any event and who would accuse any of them being pure in heart.

The sky actually is falling on America, but the political contenders continue to avoid the really hard issues facing our nation and spend their time flogging dead horses depending on their TV personas to carry the day and carefully avoiding threatening, disastrous realities like a failed system of education and health care, our open borders and the invasion of millions of illegal aliens, the drug wars, the ever burgeoning socialist/welfare dependent population together with concomitant jails and prisons being growth industries destroying America. And to add insult to injury not a single greedy crook at the top of the food chain reaping enormous profits from the disasters brought about by corruption at the highest levels will ever go to prison for their crimes since those in our government are so corrupt and in collusion with the crooks none dare attempt to prosecute the guilty.

Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity along with a few others have been sounding the alarm about the ills overtaking America for quite some time, and I’m not ignorant of their views, I’m not unappreciative of their efforts. However, I believe the prophets of the Bible have given us due warning that unless America is brought to repentance not all the efforts of the most well-informed and well-intentioned people will avail. And why not? Because they are not calling on people to repent and turn to God. Who among these will warn of judgment to come unless America changes direction and turns back to God? They have the bully pulpits, but you know full well that if they started preaching a message of repentance from those pulpits they would quickly lose their jobs.

But how did such people get their jobs to begin with? Because they espouse conservative views in line with the thinking of ordinary Americans? I don’t think so. Somewhere along the line those that succeed in the business have generally had to shake hands with the Devil. America as a nation needs to repent of the wickedness of allowing the abomination of perverts to flaunt themselves openly, to repent of the filth and violence spewing out of TV screens across the nation, to repent of our government and courts, even our schools encouraging the demise of what used to be families and morality in America. If those things that are an abomination to God are allowed to flourish in America how can we escape the judgment of God? You won’t hear this message being preached by any in the MSM. We are in need of a John the Baptist, not someone on the Devil’s payroll no matter how “conservative” they claim to be.

The very fact that Barack Hussein Obama could even be a serious contender for president should tell all Americans that our nation is in the process of being judged by God. This evil man is such an obvious tool of Satan and so unqualified for the White House no one can possibly miss this being the work of the Evil One because who else but Satan could advance such an evil man with his background and associations to this position? You should be asking yourself why since this man’s evil has been openly exposed he continues to be a threat to America? And the only plausible answer is Satan. But even those working to expose this evil man are not pointing out the obvious, that he would not be a threat if America had not turned away from God.

A call for America to repent as a nation and turn back to God requires godly leaders, not just in politics but in the MSM that plays such a prominent role in doing the Devil’s work; and this is not going to happen. Nor do I have any confidence in those preachers who wear soft clothing and live in kings’ palaces contrary to what Jesus taught about the real prophets of God to call America to repent of the abounding wickedness our nation has come to represent. And because iniquity abounds the love of many will wax cold we read in the Bible. The clear and present danger I see for America is the need as a nation to repent, but I don’t consider this very likely to happen. And because this is not likely, I expect the judgment of God to fall upon our nation.

God does not promise his peace beyond understanding to those who involve themselves with the affairs of this world to the extent they forget just who it is they are supposed to represent by rejecting the ways of the world and not exercising themselves in great matters or things too high for them. The children of God are known by their refusal to go along with the ways of the world as well as by their love for one another, by their good works not for any reward but because it pleases God that they should live such lives as to put the works of the Devil and his servants to shame.

Well, I believe the Devil owns the media and uses it for his purposes. I believe America may very well be the Babylon of Revelation. But whether or not these are true, it remains that Jesus did say very few are going to be saved out of this world system of evil: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13,14. And looking at human history with all the bloodshed throughout and ongoing I’m more than a little inclined to take Jesus at his word.

The world will continue to love its own, the Devil will continue to reward those that serve him, but God prizes those who live quietly, peaceably, humbly, and seeking neither fame nor fortune work with their own hands to provide for themselves, for widows and orphans without fanfare or the applause of others. I really believe Jesus meant it when he declared “What does it profit to gain the world and lose your own soul.”

But never will a child of God think they somehow place God in their debt by any good works. And if you believe there are not people thinking such a thing, perhaps you have never met a werewolf though they are well represented in government, on TV, and among those being rewarded with wealth and power while serving the Prince of Darkness. The Bible teaches the earth is the Devil’s domain, and his hatred of the children of God is made manifest wherever we look. And while some of us speak out against the works of the Devil we do not do so with the expectation of saving the world, but rather warning of the judgment of God to come.

Given all the evil abounding it is too easy to fall into an angry mode and forget the evil of the day is sufficient without worry for tomorrow as Jesus said, and I’m among those fortunate who can spend the day in communion with loved ones now gone on before me who still stand with me during both the good and the evil of each day, these loved ones eager to greet me once God has determined to call me home. They are in my thoughts throughout the day and my conversations are with them as I fall asleep at night, trusting they are all safe with our heavenly Father. Folks, no matter what the future holds it just doesn’t get any better than that.

Among the many reasons people envy those of us able to live here in the Kern River Valley is not only the clean air and water we enjoy in this part of the Sequoia National Forest, the marvelous fishing and lack of traffic, the lack of crowds when shopping or attending to other business but also the abundance of birds and butterflies, so much so that people from around the world come here just to be able to see such a marvelous diversity of these beautiful creatures. And while pollution elsewhere in so many parts of America threaten both people and wildlife the very abundance of birds and butterflies testify to the quality of our environment here in this very special place.

However, while not considered beautiful we have an abundance of turkey vultures and the 14th Annual Kern Valley Autumn Nature & Vulture Festival here in the Kern River Valley was held on September 27-28. When speaking of vultures most can be excused for immediately thinking of politicians, however that is ameliorated somewhat here in the valley because of the great number of actual turkey vultures in the wild, sometimes in such large flocks overhead right here in Bodfish Canyon as to make one think the sky had suddenly turned cloudy.

The Kern Valley Sun: The Turkey Vulture Festival had its beginnings when locals Terri Gallion and Sean Rowe, under the auspices of the Kern River Research center, began formally documenting what is considered the largest turkey vulture migration over a single location north of Mexico in 1994. The event is now the focus of the annual two-day event that monitors a consistently healthy bird population. “We’ll see an average of about 30,000 vultures annually along the migration route in the South Fork Valley,” says Alison Sheehey, Outreach Program Coordinator for the Kern River Preserve, “with a good day count being about 4,000 birds. Our counts are also critical to the ongoing military activities in the area. A group of 4,000 vultures can pose a serious problem to aircraft, and we furnish information to the military to help prevent any potentially catastrophic contact with the birds.” The Kern Valley Turkey Vulture Festival is sponsored by Audubon–California, Kern River Valley Revitalization Committee, and Friends of the Kern River Preserve. The Audubon organization is dedicated to protecting birds and wildlife and the habitat that supports them.  “A lot of people come out for the vulture festival,” says Sheehey, “but we have many activities going on at the Preserve year round, including our work with hummingbirds and migratory butterflies, like the Painted Ladies we see coming through the area. Come out and pay us a visit. We have a new visitor center now being built, which should make things even nicer in the future.”

In these most uncertain of times I am grateful to God for things like the Annual Turkey Vulture Count, a kind of sanity in the midst of so much seeming insanity. And while they are equated with death vultures play a vital role in cleansing the earth of carrion, but someday there will be new heavens and a new earth and there will be no need of vultures since death will be swallowed up by God’s plan for our future, a future where neither death nor anything unclean will any longer have a place in the scheme of things.

It is understandable there are people that envy those of us able to live here in the Kern River Valley, but I pity those that have no faith in God wherever they live. How very bleak their lives must be to have no hope beyond what this world has to offer, to have no hope beyond the grave, and because of this lack of faith and hope in God and a hereafter spend their lives much like politicians and other of the Devil’s servants attacking those with such faith and hope.

What was so funny during the debate between Governor Palin and Senator Biden? Were the two participants told by their handlers to smile and laugh as a means of appearing confident and demeaning their opponent? I am sure there are many of you like me wondering what each of them found so humorous throughout this meaningless episode in politics, made meaningless by both treating it as something to laugh about.

Rather than any measure of confidence it reminded me of Kurt Russell in Tombstone saying he didn’t go around like a fool laughing all the time. I expected Senator Biden to behave and talk like the socialist fool he has always been, the kind of fool so ignorant and utterly careless of American history he seemed to know nothing of Hoover and had FDR on TV. As though these inexcusably ignorant blunders were not bad enough I get the uncomfortable feeling he has never even seen the movie The American President where Martin Sheen delivers that line reminding Michael Douglas he had said if there had been TV at the time FDR would never have been elected! Shame on Biden for being so inexcusably ignorant of American history, but to appear oblivious of a film (one that apart from the politics I really enjoyed) that glorified his socialist views including a president proclaiming he was proud to be a card carrying member of the ACLU is really too much!

But Governor Palin had the rare opportunity to appear before the cameras and display the kind of gravity and seriousness we want of a leader and she failed to deliver. Here America is in a crisis mode and instead of treating the issues threatening our nation seriously they both seemed to be having a jolly good old time of it as though they were privy to some kind of inside joke We the People are not in on. Then after the show was over a good ol’ love fest followed, and now with this most recent mother of all bailouts perhaps this is where I’m supposed to say the joke is really on We the People but if so I don’t see anything to laugh about.

Just what is it with politicians together with the talking heads and empty suits on TV that strikes them so funny all the time that they smile, laugh, and joke all the while the cameras are rolling as though America was not being threatened by the greatest potential disasters our nation has ever faced? If these people really find anything humorous in our situation to laugh and joke with each other about it has to be a very sick kind of humor, and just maybe these people really are sick?

America is in need of leaders, serious leaders that know the difference between a performance for TV and the serious issues threatening our nation! Folks, most of us know America is not a TV show! But if treating our nation as such is what it takes to get elected how can we possibly hope for any real leadership in government?

However, I believe some in government have to realize what is required to save America and rather than say anything openly about the real issues like our open borders with the flood of millions of illegal aliens from Mexico for the sake of slave labor to benefit the wealthy of both nations and the rampant corruption in government threatening our nation find themselves unable to do anything to prevent the coming disaster, so they may give themselves over to laughing at the hopelessness of it all deciding to give place to “Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die.”

Like the decision of Dill in To Kill A Mockingbird to just become a clown when he grew up because the lunatic unfairness and injustice of the world was beyond changing some of the present clowns in our leadership and MSM seem to have made this same decision, though I doubt many of them have ever had the genuine sense of fairness and justice as that of the children in TKM.

As an avid fisherman and one that for years enjoyed the incomparable delights of pristine wilderness trout streams, it was more than whimsy on my part when I once wrote that while camping beside such a stream and looking at a canopy of the myriad stars overhead, those magnificent brilliant points of light shining like diamonds against soft black velvet and thinking perhaps I could cast a line from my soul upward into the heavens above and catch some celestial thought from the gods. My, what fine sport that would be to go a-fishing among the stars, the dwelling place of the gods and angels! And just perhaps, those stars might not be so far away as we have been told.

Just how old is the universe? Astronomers don’t really know because the calculations they use may need considerable revision if some of their basic assumptions prove to be wrong. For example, just how far away that star you are looking at if the light from it is is contained within a bubble that throws off your calculation? The best of SciFi is often ahead of the curve when it comes to what is actually taking place in science. In Men In Black a galaxy is contained in a small sphere like a marble, and in the last scenes it is shown as only one of many such marbles; but perhaps the more probable might be bubble spheres and here is something that brings crystal balls to mind:

Earth May Exist in Giant Cosmic Bubble. Wednesday, October 01, 2008. By Clara Moskowitz: If the notion of dark energy sounds improbable, get ready for an even more outlandish suggestion. Earth may be trapped in an abnormal bubble of space-time that is particularly devoid of matter… If we were in an unusually sparse area of the universe, then things could look farther away than they really are and there would be no need to rely on dark energy as an explanation for certain astronomical observations. "If we lived in a very large under-density, then the space-time itself wouldn't be accelerating," said researcher Timothy Clifton of Oxford University in England. "It would just be that the observations, if interpreted in the usual way, would look like they were…"

Whether the medium is a crystal ball or a bowl of water, scrying is dependent on being able to “see” things otherwise not open to view. But while smoke and mirrors are the stuff of charlatans, who can say we do not suffer from our inability to see things beyond our physical field of vision; we do know it is extremely limited compared to what might be seen if we had vision that could distinguish the entire spectrum of light.

As though there were not problems enough with Einstein’s famous equation being incomplete because it does not account for life now we must consider, as I have long believed, whether ours is indeed a unique planet in a unique solar system in a unique bubble that may mean the stars are not nearly as far away as scientists have thought. From our place in the cosmic bubble we may not be seeing things as they actually are, but like dolphins see only the ocean in which they swim while perhaps only having the dimmest perception of a world beyond the one in which they swim and live.

There is speculation about ours being a bubble universe, and perhaps only one of many such bubbles. And if it should prove our own solar system is in a very large under-density it could be quite stable and readily brings to mind the beginning chapters of Genesis together with how God intends to deal with new heavens and a new earth when the old has passed away.

America may be in the hands of Satan and his servants whose only purpose is to reward the wealthy while intent on our destruction as a nation, but there is nothing I can do about that. Maybe Steve Fossett disabled that location transmitter and bailed out so he could disappear. It will be interesting to hear what the NTSB says about the crash, especially if his body isn’t found. There is nothing I can do about that either.

But I can do something about that personal world in which I live, the world of my mind, a world you possess as well that Emerson, Thoreau, and others have correctly pointed out is greater than any earthly domain, the kingdom of God within us as Jesus pointed out. It is here in this kingdom, this world of my mind I can cast my line upward and do some celestial fishing. Who knows; the stars as well as God and the angels, departed loved ones and friends may really be much closer than some think and it is worth my while to keep casting my line upward in hope of catching thoughts worth keeping remembering all the while that neither this body nor this world is my home, I’m only passing through.
