schuster80 - > Retail Rumblings -> day after Christmas shopping
day after Christmas shopping
I was at Valley Plaza today talking to day after Christmas shoppers.  Do you like shopping on the day after Christmas?  Do you shop that day for the sales, to return an unwanted clip on tie or to get a jump start on next year's holiday shopping?  Or do you do whatever possible to avoid the congestion and long lines and spend more time with your family?

I barely finished Christmas shopping on time.  I don't even want to think about going shopping again for a couple more months.  I'll stay home, thank you very much.

I have been in my big ole chair most of the day.  My daughter gave me a hand made blanket for Christmas and I'm too busy breaking it in to do any shopping!

My buddy and I met at 7 AM this morning at WM to see what was out there.  I got a 3 foot santa for 10 bucks (everything was half off.)  It was early enough that there weren't al lthat many people out.  Best Buy had a looooong line waiting for the doors to open.  Next we went to Tarjay and the store was almost emplty except where the Chirstmas clearance stuff was.  Next stop was Old World market and I spent 2 bucks on a box of Christmas cards with a lighted dog house and pup on them.  Next stop was IHOP for strength.  Last stop os Kohls where I spent a certificate they gave me for spending over 50 bucks there before Christmas.  I was home by around noon.

Actually my last stop was the couch for a two hour recouperation-from-all-the-holiday-bustle nap.

DG..the kids and grandkids went together and bought me a recliner so I know what you mean about the breaking in thing.  Speaking of breaking...did you hear Al broke his leg?

Nancy, does that mean Santa used to be $20 or 6 feet tall?  I had no idea about Al.  How did he manage that?  I hope he mends quickly.  A long recuperation could send Doris to the Tennessee Death Chamber!

It's more likely to send AL to the death chamber..lol.    See email for details.

Santa is about 3 feet tall and if he shrunk they didn't tell me...heee.  He was 20 bucks Sunday and 10 today.  A guy on his way out of the store laughed and said "you're gonna haul that guy home and store him til next year aren't you?" I said "yup..he doesn't eat so he's an easy keeper."

How did Al break his leg? Kicking somebody in the butt? As for shopping, I had to go but a new mouse cause my old one died, and a media table for the new printer i got. Wal-Mart was a madhouse an ddidn't have what I wanted, neither did Target. Office Depot(or Max, or whatever it is over here)was where I found it, and it deserted. I also went grocery shopping about 8pm..Winco was deserted too. NICE!
