Sin Cal Ryderz Stolen Trailer Found

So those of you who dint know, last night the Auto Theft Division of the Sheriffs department located our trailer! Woohoo.  It was found along with other stolen items in a business located off Fruitvale south of Rosedale Highway  The decals had all been scraped and they were in the progress of painting the trailer when they were caught. So one side of the trailer is now painted grey using rollers and house paint lol, and the other side is sanded down. But we spent most the night at the business with the detectives identifying items as they got a warant and searched the business locating stolen items =)  Woo Hoo go Sheriffs Department!!!!

Good news sincal. Does this mean you are pro LE now, since it was a joint investigation with the KCSO and the BPD? Or do you still hate the BPD for shutting down your air park trespasses?

YAY!!! I hope the jerks that took it get sent to jail for a while... I HATE thieves...especially the ones that stole my car and took it to Lamont to strip...grrrrr

OB

do you take notes?  How do you remember the details of people's lives.  Thank god I'm totally law abiding.

I just remember things Audrey. Must be a gift, or a curse.

So is this now grand theft?  They need to put this punk away.  Do you want us to make donations for a new paint job?  I had a neighbor that another neighbor told me had spray painted his car.  I did not believe it.  After a few cocktails, my neighbor and I went down the street and I smelt the car.  Sure enough, smelled just like Rustoleum.  Every time I drove by I could not stop laughing.  I do not live in Oildale, I live in Laurelglen.  I just love Bakersfield.

OB my friend, maybe if you looked a little deeper into the previous post you woulda saw that my "beef" was with just certain LEO's lol.  Not to mention that many members of my immediate family are LEO's. But if it makes you feel better I was thinking to myself before I posted " I wonder what Old Blue is going to have to say about this" =)    BTW I had many conversations with involved officers about the past few months, and we all had the same view on things. Just when you having people going back and forth over blogs, you will always only see what you want, which I guess is what makes its so fun right?

Now that your trailer is recovered, what are you going to do to keep it from happening again?

If I have to, ill sleep in the back of that dang thing!

wont be the first time. =)

I was hoping this blog would not go in any direction except positive.  Thanks to law enforcement for thier good work in getting the trailer returned.  I really thought it was probably in another state or country by now.  I am really glad it is back.  I also hope that other items at the site are returned to the owners and make their day too.

Or did you all lose a trailer?

In any case, it's not common to get stolen goods back in one piece.  My daughters car was found too.  In Fresno.  Completely stripped.

Nancy???  FYI these are three different people discussing the same trailer.  We just all care.   And it was not in one piece.  There were parts removed and many items missing.  Still glad to see it returned.   Also, really sorry about what happened to your daughters car.  People that do these things have no respect for anything or anyone.

"Now that your trailer is recovered, what are you going to do to keep it from happening again?"

Thats an easy one. The trailer is now locked up where it is normally stored in a fenced and locked plot of land. And it has since had the tongue locked with one of those hitch covers that actually slides and locks a ball into the hitch itself, making it where no other ball can fit.

So for anyone that may have a trailer, or know someone one that has a trailer that is parked in public view now and then, I would strongly advise investing in one of these locks.      Oh yeah and insurance is a good thing too lol. The once stolen trailer is now fully insured.  Still a loss of almost $5000 in tools, but consider it a hard lesson learned.

posted by NancyII on Jul 24, 2008 at 08:33 AM

Sorry, it looked like all one person disucssing the trailer.  If you read them from the outside they do not appear to be written by different people, only different names.

I also misunderstood I guess because I thought it was said that they had started to repaint the trailer, since the report here didn't say anything was missing.

RE daughters car.  It was a red Firebird and all that was left was the shell.  The sherrif asked if she wanted to go look at it and she asked if she would cry.  He said yes, so she said no thanks.  That was about 10 years ago and she's almost over it now.

Nancy

This confusion will end when and if the BC decides to limit bloggers to one profile.  I pray for that to happen because then we'd all be held accountable for our words.

posted by NancyII on Jul 24, 2008 at 08:35 AM

WOW, I hope your new tools are insured too.  That's a terrible loss.  Funny but tools would be hard to inventory after the fact wouldn't they?  Trying to remember and replace them.... what a job.   Sorry to hear about that .

Don't see how that could work logistically.

Audrey, that would be interesting wouldn't it.  What a concept...to be accountable for our words.  :-)

At least doing away with "anonymous" made people get a little more creative.

Why Random?  They could require a SS# or something.   If someone didn't want to comply, then get the F off the blog.

Nancy,  I guess I can see why you may have thought that.  It probably looked that way because we all have some kind of connection to the event and all were really concerned.  I must be naive because I didn't even think about people using different names.  That would be weird.  We could argue with ourselves or on the other hand we could be our best advocate.

posted by NancyII on Jul 24, 2008 at 09:01 AM

Pwrd...It happens here all the time.  Sometimes we catch them, sometimes we don't.  But what a way to stir up controversy right?  My thinking is when that happens, that person has way too much time on their hands and really needs a hobby.  Well, one that doesn't involve blogging.  :-)

posted by BDub600RR on Jul 24, 2008 at 09:15 AM

Sincal and i are part of the same club.

we all use the trailer when we go to the beach, track, and pretty much anything ells we need.

lol that does sound fun making separate profiles to argue with myself though. but don't worry, id never have enough time to do that.

posted by pwrdbystress on Jul 24, 2008 at 09:17 AM

And....I am Sin Cal's mom.   And pretty proud of it.  We are all one big family in many ways.

On the forum the we as local riders are usually posting on, we monitor IP's when new members to the forum look suspicious, such as new member created that instantly post some stuff that cause some ruffled feathers. I don't know how easily it would be accomplished on a site with such a broad base, but that's the the easy answer. But then you gotta remember that sometimes you may have more than one person that post from one computer, therefor you still get 2 names under 1 IP.     I say all bloggers should have to log in with a fingerprint scan. =)  J/K

SinCal and friends, here's a tip for the tools... get an engraver and engrave them all with the trailer's license plate number. Makes it a whole lot easier to identify if stolen property is recovered. Even if they file off the license plate number, the likelyhood of another crime victim engraving their number in the same location and of the same size as you did is small. Also make sure that the insurance fully covers the tools stored in the trailer. My father discovered that his policy only covered $200 of his tools after they were stolen out of his vehicle. Even though the policy said $2000 coverage, the small print said that $2000 only applied when the tools are stolen out of his home and if stolen anywhere else the coverage was only 10% of that. The insurance company invoked the 10% clause even though the vehicle was parked at the curb of his home.

MY niece Had 4 tractors,  a boat trailer, numerous cars stolen  at one time.....this happened the other day. her husband passed away a few days before this . She is so depressed..... they took all this through the neighbors back yard... his fence was down for many days.. niece didn't know about the fence...everyone could see into both back yards. She called the police. You would think someone saw something!  Sure hope they find who did this. must have been a dozen or more...
