HM LTFS "Palin fears media attention threaten her First Amendment rights
Palin supporters! Drink it in. No, nobody is trying in prevent her from speaking. In fact, she's getting non-stop media coverage on every single word she says. Speaking her mind. That's the ultimate gift of the First Amendment. You can say anything you want to and in the case of the governor from Alaska, every-single-word she so much as mumbles under her breath gets all-day media play. But that's not her complain. Sarah Palin's complaint is that the media has opinions, too, and that they are, quote, "negative", unquote. Behold the genius of her complaint: "If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his association," Palin told host Chris Plante, "then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media." This comment by Palin ushers in a whole new understanding of what the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press means. I'll try and translate: If Palin, while exercising her freedom speech, says something that a person from the media disagrees with (presumably the media, too, has that same freedom of speech), then a negative response to Palin by the media would be an attack on her freedom of speech. One must take pause here and consider the concept of open debate in America. Suppose we participants on B.com employed Palin's conception of the First Amendment right of freedom of speech. If so, what need would we have for the controls that permit us to block other subscribers from commenting on our blogs? Nope. Under Palin's conception, any one of us could utter some outrageous and provoking free speech and if anyone had a differing opinion they'd be offending the Palin Rule if they then fired back a rebuttal. Are you voting on Tuesday? If so, try and remember that this novel conception of First Amendment rights came from the Republican candidate for vice president. Consider what kind of America we would have if this candidate sought to impose her conception of the First Amendment on the press and the citizenry. Yeah, she's that dumb. Sort of takes your breath away. Continue reading "Palin Fears Media Threaten Her First Amendment Rights."

The grave robbing misogynist ought to look at the thugocracy coming out of his boy, Obama's camp and learn just who is the one that is demonstrating a penchant for restricting free speech. And do you think Mr. Harwick sees the irony in posting about speech restrictions while locking out, and in effect restricting the speech, of so many people here? BTW, happy birthday SCR! So tell us, how many birthday cakes have you gotten in your life, that had orange colored frosting? posted by

SCR, I had no idea today was your birthday. Hope it's been a great one filled with everyone and everything that bring you joy. I just returned from a Halloween carnival at church. I love watching the little ones all dressed up in their costumes. One little guy was dressed up in a golf outfit, complete with plaid nickers and hat and argyle sweater vest. Cutest thing I've ever seen! I heard tonight that the polls are ran by liberals for liberals and conservatives rarely participate. Makes since to me. posted by

Happy Birthday!!! I know four people born on this day and ya'll have similar characteristics that I admire. Just a suggestion, you might want to clarify the post as some might not read your comments to understand your point. Having said that, after reading the full text of the actual article I don't think Palin's comments were worthy of being deemed "that dumb". The original poster here said the following: If Palin, while exercising her freedom speech, says something that a person from the media disagrees with (presumably the media, too, has that same freedom of speech), then a negative response to Palin by the media would be an attack on her freedom of speech. Out of context, much? Fabricate, much? At least she's not filing lawsuits like Obama. I won't even bother to address the b.com analogy ... ridiculous. Who would have ever thought that a proud gay man could have such a hard-on for a woman? He sure thinks about her a lot. posted by

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was the funniest thing I've heard all day! Sarah Palin has been ridiculed by the press from the time she was announced as McCain's running mate. They've put her life and her family under a microscope, while ignoring very disturbing facts about Obama. When attacked, even a straight woman has the right to defend herself. posted by

Last night I picked my grandson up after his football game. He's a freshman at Frontier and played every down of the game last night. On the way home, we talked about the game, then he showed me the book he's reading, 23 Minutes in Hell. When he got out of the car I said "I love you" and he responded with "Vote Yes on 8". I am so proud! posted by

Happy Birthday Sioux! And many more. Democrats want a microphone in front of Sarah as much as possible. She's the proverbial straw that broke McCain's back. November 5th, she'll be thrown under the bus by the McCain people and back in Alaska peering out of her binoculars across the Bering making sure the Red Horde isn't crossing over in Chinese made lead canoes. posted by

November 5th, she'll be thrown under the bus by the McCain people Are you kidding? She's already thrown McSame under the bus by going off-script and already talking about 2012. She saw it coming from McSame so she called a pre-emptive strike down on McSame's unsuspecting head.
