Apparently I'm back
For those that didn't notice or care, I was gone for two weeks vacationing in Oregon, Idaho, Washington and northern California.

Among the eventful things that happened is my wife, Mary, and I stopped in McKinleyville, Ca. (just north of Arcata and Eureka) to visit regular blogger Robb Willis and his wife Phyliss.  We had a wonderful shopping trip at Mor Furniture.

Of course, that's a lie. I'm not even sure they have Mor Furniture up there, but they sure do have a ton of Humbolt State students who walk around Arcata as if they own it.

We visited my son in Klamath Falls, Ore. and stopped in at the Lava Beds National Monument with its 500 caves.

We went to Hope, Idaho (60 miles north of Coeur d'Alene) where there is a ghetto of ex-Kern County sheriff's deputies. We had an interesting round of golf in front of the governor of Washington.

We stopped to visit my brother and sister in Olympia, Wa. before Robb abused me on the golf course.

Along the way we encountered a domestic violence issue, which prompted an evolving dynamic about the truth.

On Friday, I went to the doctor who felt something on my neck and said "Uh-oh." Those aren't good words to hear. A golfing buddy of mine has predicted I'll be dead in 30 days.

I will blog on several of these topics, plus an incidental on on whether women hold grudges longer than men, in upcoming Talk of the Towns and Fairways and Greens.

Good to be back. I trust you all found plenty to talk about in my absence.

Steve, welcome back.  Glad to hear you had a good trip.

Maybe you just have West Nile....I hear it swells the lymph nodes.....I hope.  Good to hear you're back.  Cool that you got to do all those things. I've never been past SFO, would love to someday.  Certainly nice of you to  make a long trup to see fellow bloggers (besides family of course)....Mor Furniture.....hahaha, up there, lol.

If there was a Mor Furniture up here, we wouldn't be here!

Played Eureka muni for the first time Friday. Should have taken you down there for the abuse as it's 40 minutes closer to Bakersfield. Regular golf buddy doesn't have your appreciation for recently sanded greens. Parred the first eight holes and birdied one on the back for a 77.

Come back and stay longer, Swensons.

ps. Thanks for the eight strokes you spotted me. You only have to give me seven next time...

Only Seven,

Why Robb. Don't you like beating him by 15 anymore?

You were gone?

No wonder it was so peaceful in the building...  :)

I was chanting "They did not fire Steve" the whole time~Glad to see you back.  Begone slight swollen nothing on Steve's neck.  I remember major actions against me forever, but hold no one's feet to the fire over them. Especially if they are generally nice .

Yes, Jason, now you have to earn your pay again.

And Sage, you are a nice woman. Somehow I've survived 29 years of being myself here without getting fired. But, you know, people can take only so much of that.

I knew you had to be on vacation because it's not like you to be so, well, QUIET. Welcome back.

Oregon is a nice place to visit, but after living in the Willamette Valley for two years from 1991-93, I have never wanted to go back there. My mother and sister live in Klamath Falls; Mom lives in town and Nancy lives further out with all of her horses and acreage. It does get cold up there in the wintertime...
