I got back Sunday night from a three-day trip to Olympia, Wa. where we celebrated my brother's 60th birthday.
It was the first time since my father died in 1985 that all four siblings were in the same place. We are scattered from Olympia to Bakersfield to Louisville. So I took a lot of pictures with my small digital camera. Priceless pictures. I put the camera in my jacket pocket and felt it regularly to make sure it was there. But when I was unpacking at home, it wasn't there. Trying to call people on Sunday night is a trick, but I got a hold of the United Express folks and they said it wasn't on the plane I took from San Francisco. On Monday morning, I called Meadows, San Francisco and Sea-Tac lost and found, as well as United for the plane we took from Seattle to San Francisco. At 1 p.m., a Meadows Field police officer called me to say they found a camera. I gave them name, model number and color and they had it. I told the officer that was the happiest I felt since I married my bride. I don't know who turned it in after finding it in the baggage claim area of Meadows, but thank you. It would have been real easy to steal. Posted by Steve E. Swenson |
