Global cooling
With news that global temperatures are set to decrease, yes decrease, slightly this year those one or two scientists or meteorologists who don't believe in global warming are chuckling to themselves, saying, "we told you so." 6 comments from 5 users

Basically, this means we may still have some time to act before global warming clobbers La Nina. And who's to say her brother won't show up *NEXT* year. posted by

700 years ago, the greatest minds on the planet were certain the world was flat, and that if you traveled in a straight line far enough you'd fall off the edge. 500 years ago, all of the scientists and brilliant thinkers believed that the Earth was the center of the universe, and all the stars, planets, moons and sun revolved around us. 50 years ago, scientists taught other scientists that the atom was the smallest particle in existence. It just goes to show that no matter how smart we think we are, in 200 years people will look back at us in amazement and wonder how we managed not to drown ourselves every time it rained. posted by

Actually, it's debatable that Global Warming is the majority viewpoint. Especially when it's promoted by the only outlets of information in the media. But yes, it's always been obviously false. I like this part "This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998..." Also, notice in the article it isn't so much global warming anymore, that's an obvious lie. It's "Climate Change". They're called seasons! posted by

How slight is "slightly?" While these guys were chuckling, did they have an explanation for the melting polar ice cap? How about ice sheets in Anarctica breaking off and floating away? If that reverses, I'll not only chuckle, I'll laugh like a lunatic. posted by

Anyone who doesn't think the majority of scientists agree that there is global warming is fooling themselves. EVERY major scientific organization in the world believes it. Did I say EVERY. Yes every. A good portion of those independent scientists that don't, you can be sure are funded by Exxon. So, if you don't believe it, you either have to believe as Jeff submits, that we are as wrong about that as a flat earth, or you have to believe that EVERY major scientific organization in the world, and every scientist therein, are lying to us for insideous purposes. That must mean because most academics tend to be liberal, they are pulling our legs because...uh ....because....they are educated therefore liberal, which means they hate capitalism. Right? The Polar caps are melting, there is NO doubt about that. How much global warming is due to anthropogenic activities is debateable as to degree, but there is NO doubt it is occuring. Throwing out the science because of a couple of cool years is tantamount to saying a summer in Bakersfield is cool because on July 1st it was only 88 degrees. posted by

What about 30 years ago when we were entering an Ice age? Didn't take 200 years and the ice caps aren't melting, they're getting larger, and miraculously ice breaks! Weird, it just does that sometimes. Why do scientists perpetuate the myth? So they can keep their jobs... Remember This? www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article All the ice is back. www.express.co.uk/posts/view/35266/Global-warming -It-s-the-coldest-winter-in-decades "Figures show that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than is usual for the time of year." oooops. " They add that snow cover across the area is at its greatest since 1966." Dang! Oh and don't I remember something about Enron, amongst many others, interested in trading "carbon credits"? Which Al Gore is now doing, as head of Global Investment Management? Nope, not related.
