Who is Michael Phelps dating?
Pretty much anyone he wants to is the answer to that one. But there are a couple of medal contenders: U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard and British model Lily Donaldson. Beard has appeared in Playboy, but didn't reach the finals of Beijing's 200m breaststroke after winning gold in Athens. Donaldson replaced Kate Moss as one of the faces of Burberry. Either way, Phelps is going for gold. 6 comments from 5 users

Carl Edwards was doing Amanda a few years ago. She's the one who taught him how to do his signature back flip. posted by

Sounds like Amanda's idea of "breaststroke" is not the same as the Olympic ideal. Like most Olympic athletes, phelps' life was relatively isolated and on hold for years while he developed his talent. His friends are close and a small circle. In an interview on NBC he was a little more telling than the usual "how did you feel" questions. He said he has learned who his friends are and who wants to jump on his popularity. One of his immediate goals after taking a break is getting his own home. He also said it is too early for him to give up swimming, though he has inferred he will not take on the same number of events if he participates in London. Questions relating to his sex life were not asked, as if the interviewer knew phelps would have no compunction of walking off. He did relate a story that says something about himself. A guy ran up to him and announced, "Remember me? We went to h.s. together." Phelps replied, "Sorry, I don't recall. I don't know who you are." His mother later chided, "You knew him. You know he was in your class." Phelps said that the guy was also in a clique that made fun of him. Despite his celebrity, phelps is determined to keep his private life private. posted by

OB, I think Greg is a little old for him. You didn't happen to watch the show called reality bites did you? They had some sort of fake diving competition that Lougains was "judging" and it was quite strange/funny. posted by

I agree, catpaw. Phelps seems like a really nice guy. I doubt he'll suddenly start acting like a player now that he's so famous. However, I agree with one thing--if he doesn't date 100 women, it won't be because he can't--because he definitely can.
