GM boss pleads poverty, eats at Quiznos

Well, why didn't you say that?

Of course if you drove your own car and ate at a sandwich shop on the way we'll give you $25 billion of taxpayer money.

The big 3 automakers drove to Washington today instead of flying their private pimp planes, and they even deigned to eat with the peasants at Quiznos.

Quiznos? Everyone knows this is the richer cousin of Subway. If they were really trying to score points with the lawmakers they're facing today (who also have probably never eaten at a fast-food sandwich shop in their lives) they should have got a greasy bucket of KFC.

Then and only then will you get that $25 billion Christmas present you're begging for.

WHAT!  QUIZNOS?  While I'm scouring the gutters for pennies so I can get a McRib before they're gone again?

Seriously, if these fellows didn't see this economic downturn coming in the first place, then I propose they are remarkably blind and out-of-touch.  We shouldn't be surprised by their behavior.

For the price of a Quizno's sub you could get a share of GM and change back.

Turned in 'cans' yesterday in my 94 Ford P/U....got 24 bucks...spent 20 of it at the .99 cent store..3 bucks across the street at Walgreens for a perscription...so it tears me up that these CEO's have it so bad...can you afford a NEW Detroit pig?....upkeep..tags...fuel...insurance...vehicle payments....???

Giving money from 'the top down' is not going to work....money from 'the bottom up' works....we are seeing ALOT of 'white shirts with ties' receiving help...where's the 'blue shirts' BEGGING for money.....IMHO

These guys sure remind me of a kid who's been on Santa's naughty list for years, and with good reason, but makes a last-ditch feeble attempt to act human and humane this year to score a few presents. One can only hope that congress proves to be as wise as Santa or the average parent, just this once.

And what did the heads of AIG, Citi, etc. eat when they went to Congress to get $700,000,000,000? My bet is, they didn't even drive American-made cars to the Capital building.....

Don't cha know that cramped their style! Wow, having to travel by way of the automobile, and eating at a sandwich shop. Bet that put a ding in their enormous ego's. All for Show... They will be back to flying around in their private jets, and eating caviar the day after they get the bailout they want...

I don't think grabbing a sandwich at Quizno's is out of line... What is he supposed to do, pull out a can of SPAM? I agree they make an absurd amount of money, but lashing out because they ate at Quizno's is pretty lame..

A meal at Subway, Quizno's, Jack, etc... you can spend the same amount anywhere..
