Walk up to him, grab him by the lapels, and say, "What's the word?"

I know he just got back from vacation recently....but I think he doesn't monitor us "kids" on the weekends.  We are left to our own devices...so behave...

If Jason is anything like us here at home, then he's doing the laundry, opening up the mail and paying the bills...someone forgot to go over and water the yard...where in the hell is my cat?...and I KNOW that before we left, this house WAS furnished....

Tina, lemme see if I can jump in and help.  What page are you on when you get the error and what are you trying to do?

Lemme know so I can add it to the weekly (OK, mostly weekly) New Users Click Here.

If someone leaves me a message or I try to leave someone a message on profile, it says "touser not set' and/or that I am in 'beta mode'

Also if I try to respond to anymessage it does the same.

It has been doing this for about a week or more.

Thanks for the help :0)

TomW,

I tried to reply to your post. Don't know if it actually went through.

I got this message.......The Inbox is still in Beta mode, which means there might be some bugs.

Could you try to sign my guestbook and see if that works? Thanks

Tina, got your message through the site.  Looks like that's working for you.  I'm guessing when they activated your profile, something went wrong.

One more thing, what page are you looking at where you get the error?  Are you here: http://people.bakersfield.c...

The " The Inbox is still in Beta mode, which means there might be some bugs." message is at the top of everyone's page right now so that we report bugs.  It's the "touser not set" error that seems to be a problem, and I'm thinking that we'll need someone with server access to take a look at it.

I know that the site is PHP/SQL, and the intermittence seems like an error between servers.  I'll leave it to the real gearheads from here.  Anyone else seen this?

I suspect it's missing a space and means to tell you "TO user not set", i.e., you didn't tell it who to send the message to. Under "Compose Message", what did you put in the TO field?

As I just explained on NUCH, I apologize--I did see your message on Wed., Tina, but I was out of the office and it slipped my mind when I got back on Thursday.  To all wondering about these "touser not set" messages, we are seeing them on different Bakomatic sites and endeavoring to solve the problem.  When most people send messages on B.com, they do so by clicking on the send-a-message button on a profile and having it automatically fill out the "to" info for you--it still does that, but now you have the option to fill out or change it yourself, as you can also send a message from inside your inbox by filling out the "to" info.  Something is happening in terms of the auto-filling-out of that form and the reading of the sendee information by our system that is causing this error, and our developers are working on it.  Rest assured, we know about it--actually, Tina, while I failed to write you back, it seems that my records show that I forwarded your message to our developers Wed. night when I got it, and if memory serves, it wasn't the first such citation of the problem.  I'll keep you all posted as information becomes available.

Also, just so you know, I had been on vacation for over a week, but I was back in the office on last Tues., but I was out on Wed. in order to, well, I had to take my daughter to a concert.  :)  I'll be posting about it on RaisingBakersfield.com soon.  And as for weekends, I check email to see if there are any dire violation reports that can't wait, but for the most part, everybody seems to be able to take care of themselves and each other without burning the place down.  :)  [Oh, and allRED and Gube:  Heh.]

Thanks Jason. And I was totally cool with you being busy. :-)

It still is screwy on my profile messages but I can take it.

Thanks.
