Identity theft......

OK, now I know this is a big problem for which it happens to and a major concern for all Americans today, but this is actually getting a little funny. I have seen this crime against humanity used as an excuse for not paying bills way too often over the past couple of years. It seems like every time someone with not so perfect credit is quizzed about the imperfections that are on their credit report the answer is always one of the two; 1) my ex (wife, husband, boy/girlfriend) messed it up; or the now popular 2) I was a victim of identity theft, someone stole my wallet/purse, somebody else was using my credit. Now actually having your identity stolen and the credit rampage that follows is no laughing matter. But actually using this as an excuse for not paying your bills is extremely humorous. People please, just don’t run up too much debt, you aren’t a pro basketball player, rapper or David Crisp ; ) so don’t try to live like you are. Go to work, pay your bills and don’t ever live above your means. It would be really embarrassing for the jet to get repo'd........

Did Crisp and Cole's jet get repo'd? I was out of town for a couple weeks and missed all the excitement with those guys.

I understood the jet was leased.   I will say thanhurst is right..champagne taste on a beer pocketbook can get you into all kinds of financial woes.

Having that $100 dinner with that $80 bottle of wine when there's not enough left to pay PG&E is a recipe for disaster.

Well damn Nancy..if people are that bad, they get what they got coming. I like Two-buck Chuck Chardonnay myself..tastes just as good as the 25 buck a bottle stuff my sis drinks in SoCal.

I watched the evening news tonight and it had a piece on the value of our currency..its dropping is a bad thing I know. But, I find it hard to feel sorry for people that want to take their vacations 'abroad' this year..but that said.. the dollar losing value will hurt us in many other ways..right?

Imports, which Americans are addicted to, cost more as the dollar loses value.

My grandfather who grew up in vast wealth only to watch it vanish in a single afternoon work his whole working life as a coal miner. He always said "you have enough money, just depends on your wants vs your needs". I have done that, I have been poor and knew how to make 10 dollars last a week, etc. Lived on rice & beans a few months, when I lived in SF, now live very comfortably and dont worry about the money, since I live with in my means.

BTW: But, I find it hard to feel sorry for people that want to take their vacations 'abroad' this year...there is always south america...until the dollar gains strenght. Though I do miss my European winter trips, now it is just summering during the winter months in Argentina (Ok...2 weeks in Argentina).
